Trying to parse the grammar on this one...
-
I have a tendency to edit my posts 5 times before submitting, so I often lose my grammatical agreements.
-
I do the same thing and end up with similarly disjointed grammar.
-
You know, going and re-reading the entire thing one last time after the edits but before hitting the Reply button will help with that.
-
Meh, I prefer to Do It Wrong.
-
-
In a wretched hive of scum and villainy, it is to be expected.
-
"organic" is another way to say "artificial rate-limit."
Meat is definitely better tasting that way. Vegetables, usually not worth the premium.
-
How much pink slime is in European food for human consumption? Hint: none.
First off, just because it looks gross and scary, doesn't mean it's actually bad for you. Second, pink slime falls under the USDA, not the FDA.
-
Since Americans feel so proud of their FDA and food production:
Yummy, can I get some cancer with my McNuggets please?
-
I have some problems with the article you linked:
- Sure there's arsenic, but how much? The concentration is important. Since they fail to mention that, I'm betting it's below any dangerous level.
- This link http://www.fda.gov/AnimalVeterinary/SafetyHealth/ProductSafetyInformation/ucm258313.htm indicates that the arsenic was found in the liver, not the meat that is generally consumed. Also, the link indicates that the arsenic was in a drug, not in the feed. Looks like your article was twisting the facts to drum up hysteria.
- The article also mentions that other countires use the same feed. Any ideas which countries?

According to an article from 2011 (when Pfizer suspended Roxarsone):
Roxarsone is still approved for use in chickens and swine in Canada, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Vietnam and in poultry only in Chile, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Brazil, Australia, Pakistan and Jordan.
It's banned in the EU.

FWP: Where do they keep the single women these days?
Went bar hopping last night - three single guys and a single lesbian. All "on the hunt" as they say.
7:30PM Bar 1: Geeky-hipstery-beer-snobby joint. Nice quiet live jazz, 30 taps of craft beer, giant bottle rack, wine, scotch. No mixed drinks. Very popular with the sort of people that we are (geeky, vaguely-hipster beer snobs). Lots of women, but close examination reveals that they are all paired off and always enter/leave with a dude. We speculate that the singles come out later in the evening.
9:00 Bar 2: Steampunk decor, domestic mass production beer and a full stock of liquor for mixing purposes. Totally mobbed. BROS BROS BROS BROS BROS BROS. Not a woman in sight. Aborted mission before getting served.
9:30 Bar 3: Divey place, live DJ. Mix of domestic standards and a few craft beers. Accosted by very, very drunk rednecks.
10:30 Bar 4: Big sports bar/dance club/restaurant/etc. in a bigassed converted hotel ballroom. Used to be the spot in town for singles, but has been plagued by shitty management decisions and failure to compete. Totally vacant.
<long walk to other end of town>11:15 Bar 5: "Irish Pub". Live metal act at earsplitting volumes. Impossible to communicate. Basically empty. Aborted mission before approaching bar.
11:30 Bar 6: Microbrewery tasting room: Closed for the evening as we approached the door.
12:00 Bar 7: Microbrewery taphouse/restaurant. No seats at bar, no tables open. No standing allowed. Would you like to wait outside? NOPE.
12:15: Bar 8. A converted multistory house with a DJ and a couple dance floors. Known for dancing on the bar tops, cheap liquor, and general rowdiness. BIG fight in progress out front. Bouncers not allowing anyone in or out until the police arrive.
12:30 Back to bar 1: More people, but if anything the coupleness of it all is actually WORSE. Last drinks, sobered up, made plans to try again IN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT CITY.
That covers literally the entirety of nightlife establishments in a small, depressed, industrial city where white collar people wearing nice clothes and carrying smartphones and moderate sums of cash and are able to walk around without fear of being rapemurdermugged.
-
Live metal act at earsplitting volumes. Impossible to communicate.
Best kind of pub raids. You get a beer, some good music and are excused from communicating.
-
There's a time for that. The time is not "trying to meet new people".
-
Are you just looking to hookup? That's what it seems like, since you're going to so many bars.
-

No, they were looking for a deer to shoot.
-
Also, FWP: apparently at my bank, I'd actually need to pay them to relieve me of my TDWTF writing check.
-
No, they were looking for a deer to shoot.
Those guys from bar #3 would have made that MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. I was looking for a similarly witty reply, but was symied by the whooshiness.

did you know that oxygen is toxic?
it's true!
at least if you crank the oxygen concentration high enough. :-P
-
did you know that oxygen is toxic?
So is water.it's true!
Just look at the things both of those do to metals. Jeez.
-
if they do that to metal what are they doing to your insides?
EXACTLY THE SAME THINGS (except your body is more or less built to deal with it. (mostly))
-
Also, FWP
FWP? Define please, too many possible meanings to nail down how it's being uses here.

Did you look at the title of this thread?

Who's going to look silly when the title of this tread becomes "The na na na batfink upside down tinman thread"?

There now follows a list of nonlethal chemicals:
This concludes the list.
-
Yummy, can I get some cancer with my McNuggets please?
They lost me at:
Pfizer, of course — the very same company that makes vaccines containing chemical adjuvants that are injected into children.
It's banned in the EU.
What isn't banned in the EU?
There now follows a list of nonlethal chemicals:
This concludes the list.
Pretty much. Anything is toxic if the dose is high enough.

For shame...
I had a reply notification; I clicked on that. I don't always look at the actual notification because it's going to be something I probably am interested in more or less by definition.
Also I frequently read the forum by starting at the oldest post with an unread message count indicator, and then walking up the rows, right-clicking 4-10 posts to get each topic in a new tab. Every once in a while this means you wind up not knowing what thread you're in right away.

Kinder Surprise eggs, which started the whole conversation

This is what I get for reading diagonally.

Btw, FWP when first trying to post:

My ten pound notes came out of the cash point in different orientations and looked bad in my wallet until I had chance to fix them.

If you like Monopoly™ like notes, then yes.

Real first world countries only use plastic (Sweden?)

I was thinking more about this:

I was thinking more about this:
Yeah ... I was also more thinking along those lines ... although she was wearing less ...

Why is this even a category of game?!?!?
Because people will always rush to buy the next Pet Rock.
-
-
FWP: can't find good game deals anywhere because there's so much indie crap that used to not even make it to Newgrounds, but now is sold for exorbitant money.
I mean look at this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVVyypswF5g
This goes for 2 euro MSRP, currently at a deal for 1 euro. And it's still about 3 too many.

How much pink slime is in European food for human consumption?
Not enough?
Hint: none.
Aha!
I was going to post this picture here after catching up, but I think the reply makes sense here:
Unfortunately, not too much detail on Europe here. But an interesting chart.
