Disturbing lack of Deja Vu Sans Mono up in here.
(I don't even remember where or when I started using DV Sans Mono, but I can't live without it now. Send help.)
-
Courier New is simply the Notepad++ default and I can't be arsed to change it.
-
i'm no font nazi. so long as i get monospaced in terminal and sansserif in my browser and a full mug of tea (it literally says MUG OF TEA on it(in what i have been informed is the Game of Thrones font, even though i've had this mug since i was 10. (that's a long time before the HBO show was made about the books(in fact it predates the books by a little over 2 months(I know that because it was a birthday present))))) then nobody has to get hurt

1988 called. It wants its font back.
Seriously, try out Consolas. Oh, look, you can tell the difference between 0 and O and 1 and l, and the letters don't look like cuneiform.
I dunno about this Deja Vu Sans Mono trithne mentioned although the partial sample at http://dejavu-fonts.org/wiki/Main_Page looks decent.

No, but some fonts are objectively easier to work with than others.
If you had a choice between Times New Roman, Arial, and Segoe UI as your general reading font, you should choose the last one of the three.

I've changed it, will give it a go and report back.

Am I doing it wrong that I use Courier New?
Nope, because this:
Courier New is simply the Notepad++ default and I can't be arsed to change it.
Changed the theme though.

Recently discovered SublimeText3'
It's not ViM, but it will get the job done when i don't have access to any of my *nix enviroments.
I'll use it under protest, but out of respect moderate the protests to a constant muttering under my breath.

I gave that a go at home as someone on here recommended it (might have been @blakeyrat) but couldn't be bothered to change from using Notepad++ at work in the end.
-
There's always gVim for Windows if you're the sort of sadist who likes vim.

i got sucked intop it as the least horrible IDE for SalesForce
Website: Terrible:
Eclipse: [image of dog with the words "DO NOT WANT"]

Apparently we have some shiny Salesforce goodness in our future here.
I have a Salesforce dev account in preparation but I've not really had the time to get too stuck into it yet.
-
it's not bad.,.. just... annoying.
-
That's an improvement from anything I have to deal with now which is both bad and annoying.

I should probably try Sublime sometime but not when I'm in the middle of a big project.

mere moments after i posted. good thing too. i wanted that cookie.

I usually use the Bitstream Vera Sans Mono font for coding. Not sure where I picked that specific one from because it doesn't come default on Windows and I always have to install it, but it's a great monospaced font with distinguishable letters and numbers.

Notepad++ can't even draw menus correctly.
-
What's up with its menus?
-
It has the same bug Audacity does, when menus have more items than the vertical size of the screen allows. I'm looking for a screenshot, but oddly I don't see to have one in my WTFs folder even though I have to deal with it in Audacity every fucking week.
-
all the time: for typing numbers and controlling roguelikes (except UrW, because UrW doesn't care and forces you to use your tiny laptop arrow keys)
-
Oh hey, I'm pretty sure there's a screenshot in this thread:
But of course, the old forums were taken down before any of the content was imported here. (Not that I ever expected that bag of WTF Alex to actually do the import.) And so now everything I typed all those years is just disappeared into the ether and fuck you, Alex. Did you also delete the database? And wipe the HD it was on? And then, just for good measure, take a whiz on it? Goddamned you suck at this whole "running a website" thing.
-
Don't use Audacity so not familiar with that.
Looks alright though (screen shot goes to the bottom of the screen) - the black arrow scrolls down as expected.
-
I just whacked my resolution down to 640x480 to check this. It seems large menus have top and bottom areas that you have to click on to scroll? Pretty annoying, especially with the lack of support for scrolling or hovering but I'm not sure I'd call it a bug as such.
Or am I missing something?
-
-
the biggest menu on my NP++ takes up less than half my screen. I'd already tried putting a small window near the bottom and it went above the menu position as I'd expect.
-
It is possible they've fixed it. When I get to a computer with Audacity on it, I'll screenshot what I'm talking about.
-

Yeah, that's the bug. You don't... you don't see a bug in what you just typed?
-
It could be called a feature request. A passive aggressive feature request if you're @codinghorror.
I guess it's fairly edge casey unless it happens in an application that has far more elements in a menu than you should ever have (more of a bug than the original IMO) or have a ridiculously small resolution.
-
So the bug's just that you need to click to scroll, rather than it scrolling automatically?
