-NaN% posters and hamster smurfing!

Seriously, it's only 230 data points!
-
I was just going to do a bar chart to see if we formed a bell curve or not.
-
X-> Post count within a topic
Y-> Number of topics containing XExcel 2013 under a VM.
Not sure what you two ladies are doing...
-
My exact steps to repeat:
- Paste pastebin into Sublime so I can split the columns (because my first attempt at a paste into excel got one column)
- Select the first half of each line and paste into excel column A
- Select the second half of each line and paste into excel column B
- Add row above row 1. Enter headers into row
- Turn above data into a table
- Click "add chart" and try to add a bar chart. FROM THIS POINT ON, EXPECT SLOWNESS.
- Start trying to tweak chart parameters. At some point, it entirely locks up.
-
X-> Post count within a topicY->
Number of topics containing X
...
Not sure what you two ladies are doing...Eh, what? For one, I wasn't cutting off any data. My display is a bit unorthodox, I admit, but more informative and complete.
-
I wasn't talking about you...
and now excel is caught in an infinite loop of crashing
2013 isn't much happier.
-
I wasn't talking about you...
Oh, right. WTF ladies!
(because my first attempt at a paste into excel got one column)
You want either "Paste Special" or split column (can't remember what that's called, exactly).
-
Eh, I remembered how to select the first half of every line in a file in Sublime faster than I remembered how to do Split Column in Excel. Comes of using the one more than the other I guess.
-
I wasn't talking about you...
in my case it's probably the crappy laptop i have to run excel on at work. i really should install office on the desktop....
-
- Copy the list
- Paste in excel
- choose to paste without style or text only or the like
- under data > text to column (or something like this: )
- choose "." as separator
- select second column (now containing the actual data)
- again data > text to column but now with '|" as separator
- repeat
- ...
- profit!
-
You like too much. You need to be angrier like /HULK.
-
Is it OK to Like being angry? Asking for blakeyrat.
-
Hmmm ... that's a complex question. I suggest asking a therapist.
-
i don't like very much at all!
she (points to the cyborg Accalia sitting in a corner handing out likes to anyone that passes by) likes too much.
and this wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for /t/1000
-
I keep up there (except for the epeenery that happened between @Arantor and @Luhmann a bit ago) but it's definitely more fun handing out likes in other places.
When the occasional holdout posts something on CS, I'm often sad that there's no like button there.
-
and this wouldn't be an issue if it weren't for /t/1000
I haven't had many issues with running out, aside from those two days a couple weeks ago.
/me starts turning green and glaring at @luhmann and @arantor
Happy place. Got to go to my happy place.
-
If HULK want to SMASH those two, I won't get in your way. Actually, it's probably only necessary to SMASH one of them to stop the competition; I recommend SMASHing the Belch.
-
I recommend SMASHing the Belch.
Next time I go into a rage, I'll try to take this under advisement.
-
I've taken to using R for graphing work. It can be tricky to use, but gives good results when your input file has tens of thousands of records.
-
Note to self: Get a bot someday.
-
sockbot is available and (somewhat) easy to set up!
i'll even help!
you're on you own for the server to host but an ec2 micro isntance is free the first year....
-
I haven't had many issues with running out
I haven't run out for ages it seems
aside from those two days a couple weeks ago.
Even then I had no issues ...

I can confirm all of these!
EDIT: Oi, Discourse - that's NOT the order I clicked the Quote Reply button in on those quotes.

Oi, Discourse - that's NOT the order I clicked the Quote Reply button in on those quotes.
It seems pretty random whether a quote shows up where the cursor is or at the start or end of a post.

whether a quote shows up
Quoted in the order they appeared in originally.
@discoursebot

where the cursor is [actually worked]
start [this one, too]
Here is some text.
[hit the full quote button and it went to the end]

-
yeah. after that they're about $9/mo
not bad and by the time the free year is up they'll probably be even cheaper.
-
Fucking hell, is there anyone here that is actually older than me?
46, going on 64, here. Get off my lawn!
-
Personally I'd like to do some sort of plugin to do this sort of thing with the live data,
I was thinking that too.
Unfortunately, my dev environment is now claiming that MiniProfiler is being loaded twice for some reason.
But once I get it working again, this should help: https://code.google.com/p/stack-exchange-data-explorer/source/browse/App/StackExchange.DataExplorer/Scripts/query.js
-
@PJH, how often are the 5% queries run? I don't feel like I post that often, yet I still have my badge.
-
"Every 24 hours"
Since it's using Sidekiq rather than, say, crontab, when during the day that is, isn't actually configurable.
-
Thank you. It must be because I am never in the excluded threads, so all of my posts actually count?
-
It's more a function of the number of included posts compared to other people. From Saturday's backup (the last I have to hand):
rank | username | percent | count ------+-----------------+---------+------- 1 | accalia | 0.43 | 1554 2 | FrostCat | 0.85 | 1528 3 | Arantor | 1.28 | 1159 4 | boomzilla | 1.71 | 946 5 | chubertdev | 2.14 | 865 6 | blakeyrat | 2.56 | 857 7 | Intercourse | 2.99 | 546 8 | abarker | 3.42 | 525 9 | aliceif | 3.85 | 504 10 | PJH | 4.27 | 473 11 | HardwareGeek | 4.70 | 447 12 | Maciejasjmj | 5.13 | 372

That's what I meant, though I may have phrased it poorly. A lot of other's posts are excluded from the query, which bumps me up a good amount.
-
7 | Intercourse | 2.99 | 546
discourse=# select count(*) from posts join users u on u.id=posts.user_id where u.username='Intercourse' and posts.created_at > CURRENT_DATE - INTERVAL '1 month'; count ------- 704 (1 row) Time: 254.188 ms
-
I am kind of surprised that I have 150 posts in excluded categories. I did not think I was in them that much...
I am just musing out loud. No further queries are necessary. Thank you for all that you do.
-
Wow, the lowest of the 5% only has an average of about 15 non-excluded posts per day. That doesn't seem like much. Especially compared to @accalia's 52ish non-excluded posts per day.
-
Flag communications and PM's are also included in that total don't forget.
(Just checked that I haven't accidentally excluded topics when posting the SQL queries with that UUID in them..)
-
Wow, the lowest of the 5% only has an average of about 15 non-excluded posts per day.
Where/how are you getting your numbers?
-
e..g...
1 | accalia | 0.43 | 1554
discourse=# select count(*) from posts join users u on u.id=posts.user_id where u.username='accalia' and posts.created_at > CURRENT_DATE - INTERVAL '1 month'; count ------- 3535 (1 row) Time: 270.768 ms
[postgres@sofa ~]$ echo "(3535-1554)/30" | bc 66
(Note that absolute numbers will be off since the backup is from Saturday.)
-
Macie with the post total above divided by 30, or something like that.
-
Doh - braino - I was reading those posts as citing exluded, not non-excluded.

You just exluded a letter...
-
Ahhhh yes, because everything is a thread here.
-

what can i say? i've been busy. :-D
-
hmm.... i guess i don't belong in here anymore do i?

You should know the correct discoterminology by now.
