🖎 The officious song of the day comment thread!

I have the opposite experience here, if only because videos at youtube often have ads before the video. But I just usually click on the video and it opens in another tab.
-
Hmm, I hardly ever see YT ads, but I have ad-blockers cranked up to 11.
-
Damn, those are big anvils.
Not really, if you count the fixed half of a steamhammer or forging press as one...consider that the cranks on the smaller EMD 567s were a single forging. ;)

But two guys aren't banging on those with sledgehammers. Those stage anvils are bigger than the "blacksmiths" (and probably made of plywood).

I was hoping for more interesting video to go with the song. I am disappoint.

I was hoping for more interesting video to go with the song.
When I first clicked on it, I was hoping for that also. C'est la vie.

This one shouldn't let you down.

So who spotted Rimmer doing the voiceover at the beginning?
Also, who is this person from the video? She looks familiar:

+1 for nerdy song. -4e11 for terrible lyrics and terrible music badly sung.
-
-shrug-
i got linked to that song, so i shared the pain.
:-P

I want those 3 minutes and 58 seconds back.

Any song described by those words is a song I don't want to listen to.

your loss. it's a good one
-
It may be, but it's certainly not actually heavy metal. It's j-pop coyly pretending to be same.
"You know, it's not so much an afterlife, more a sort of après-vie."
-
It may be, but it's certainly not actually heavy metal
That at least is true; a more accurate label would be 'idol metal'
-
a more accurate label would be 'idol metal'
It might be a more accurate label as it clearly names it for the turd it is.
The only right idol is Billy!

Ah, thought I recognised the guitar work:

>The Wikisinger sings the same song in different environments experimenting with natural reverb, early reflections and short delays.
Can't say much for the song, but it was an interesting demonstration of room acoustics. I'm assuming the mic setup was the same for all of them, because it wouldn't really be a good comparison otherwise. It surprised me that some of the highly reflective but small rooms sounded so dead, almost as dead as the anechoic chamber.
-
Yeah, it made for a neat video.

Every fibre of my being thought this wouldn't work at all; in fact, I rather hoped it would be a discordant mess.It wasn't.
*wanders off to reconsider her opinion of MLP:FIM*
I will say one thing however: Babs Seed?
And I have the complete Dangermouse box set, so I know a thing or two about bad puns.

A classic. I previously posted it in the trashy music thread (different URL, same song):

LOL...the progression of the video games was pretty cool. And a bonus BSoD at the end!
-
The video was actually enthralling enough that I kind of accidentally ignored the song itself and don't remember what it sounds like.

Glenn Miller - In the Mood
Dean Martin & Helen O'Connell - How Do You Like Your Eggs
You got my lazy butt off the couch and dancing (by myself, sadly) for two songs in a row. Well done, sir; thank you.

off the couch and dancing (by myself, sadly)
That's what I was doing before posting them.
-
Fine, fine, we can all play that game if you like:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IqH3uliwJYAnd yes, they know exactly how inappropriate that song is. That's the point.
I ain't playin' no games, I'm a genuine Electro Swing addict!
I do appreciate the music in any case though.
-
Great dancing. I'd like to learn to dance like that; I've had a few lessons here and there, but not enough to be any good at it, nor often enough to remember what I learned from one lesson to the next.

Status: Who wants to hear about my diagnosis at the clinic yesterday!? Hint: it involved "intestinal blockage".
Blakeyrat can't be empty.

Somebody should post aenima to solve this situation

Something to sleep to...
Ok, so I know Hasbro's pretty easy-going with their My Little Pony trademarks, but I find it hard to believe they gave this shitty band permission to include MLP characters on their album cover and putting it on Bandcamp.
-
-
Ok swap "band" with "heap of shitty assholes".
-
There you go! Now you're seeing the greater picture!
-
Also, glad to see you care! The fact that you had enough passion to strike up a conversation about this is abhorrently awesome!
-
the Sleaford Mods?
As someone who grew up in Sleaford, I'm amazed anyone wanted to name a band after it.
-
I think that's kinda the point.
-
-
Why Sleaford given that he grew up in nearby Grantham? And why Mods, given that punks would be more apt? “Well, Grantham Mods sounds shit. And Sleaford sounds a bit sleazy, like a lot of the early songs. With the mod thing, I was just always into it. Still am.”
Funny, intelligent, rude, and bleaker than Sleaford. What's not to like?

Translated lyrics
**Perpetual Associative Movement**This is it, we'll turn this around!
This is it, the wheels are turning!
This is it, I can feel the optimism!
Onwards, no one will stop us!Not now, it's lunch time...
Not now, it's dinner time...
Not now, 'cause I don't think I can...
I have to work tomorrow...This is it, we've full strength!
This is it, there's hope in this fight!
This is it, nothing but good people!
Onwards, no one will stop us!Not now, my belly hurts...
Not now, they say it's going to rain...
Not now, Benfica is playing tonight...
And I've better things to do...This is it, sing with soul!
This is it, I can feel the unity!
This is it, I can hear freedom!
Onwards, this is the way!Not now, there's a form missing...
Not now, my dad doesn't want me to...
Not now, there's too much traffic...
Go on without me, I'll meet you there... (repeats)
