🎤 Song of the day 👂

This song is great to listen to while you go on a murder spree on your favorite FPS game.
See if you can clear an entire level in the ~3 minutes 30 seconds it lasts.

This song is great to listen to while you go on a murder spree in San Bernadino.
See if you can clear an entire social services complex in the 2 minutes 31 seconds it lasts.
Yes, I'm laughing at dead americans.

Post in the quick links thread reminded me of The Wall. Man. This movie.
Are there any queers in the audience tonight? Get them up against the wall! There's one in the spotlight, you don't look right to me! Get him up against the wall!!! That one looks Jewish, that one's a coon! Who let all this riffraff into the room!?
That's like... the first song in the movie. The very first thing you hear.
I wonder if they had trouble with the local police setting up all that Nazi memorabilia. Sure they changed the logo to hammers but, uh. Yeah.

One of the pieces in The Wall that particular resonates with me personally is When the Tigers Broke Free:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKfwwlEcowk
(Which IIRC is in the film version but not on the album version, so even if you're a fan of the album you maybe haven't heard this one before.)
In general the segments with Young Pink influence me more than those with grown-up Pink. Pink has rock star problems. Young Pink has problems that pretty much everybody's had in their lives. And kids can build up The Wall just as quickly as adults.
At least dying at Anzio is dying for something.

The Pogues & Kirsty McColl - Fairytale of New York

One song, two different performances. I really like the Whalum arrangement, but the recording isn't very good, and the performance is so-so. The African Children's Choir version is much simpler, but the performance is sensational.
Nigerian (Yoruba) Christmas carol, "Betelehemu" by Babatunde Olatunji, the first version arranged by Wendell Whalum.

You get a like just for Nick Cave. Don't like the video at all.
I'm a bit of a Tom Waits fan, too. It's tempting to post something from "Earth Died Screaming" but have this instead.
