I kinda wanted to see what happens when you type like a hacker, but I bet it wouldn't be so interesting...

@FrostCat Ethical meat eating
No such thing.
Are you sure? What if you chew with your mouth open?

What if you chew, then spit the meat out? That's still vegetarian, because you're not actually eating the meat, right?

You might think this would someday get old, but it never does!

@FrostCat Scarcely a rational counter-argument. If Aldrin has nothing to hide, why would he not just respond to Sibrel's free speech with more free speech?

He has been, for decades. This guy has been chasing him around for a long time, hassling him like this. Buzz finally had enough.
But here's a tip: don't walk up to a person and call him a liar and a coward to his face, unless you're prepared to accept the consequences.
-
@flabdablet That's not free speech, that's harassment. Aldrin attempted to leave to not be bothered by that asshole, and the guy pursued him. Free speech doesn't cover following someone to get a reaction out of them. And in the end, he got the reaction he was looking for. I would have liked to see what happened next though.

Beverly Hills police investigated the incident, which occurred 9 September, but said that the charges were dropped after witnesses came forward to say that Mr Sibrel had aggressively poked Mr Aldrin with the Bible before he was punched.
Witnesses also told police that Mr Sibrel had lured Mr Aldrin to the hotel under false pretences in order to interview him. [...]
Mr Sibrel handed over the tape to police investigators, but as Mr Sibrel sustained no visible injury and did not seek medical attention, and Mr Aldrin had no previous criminal record, no charges were filed.
-
@FrostCat from Wikipedia:
Sibrel said later that he wrote a letter of apology to Aldrin.[
Also,
In July 2009, Sibrel, who works as a Nashville taxicab driver, was charged with vandalism when he jumped up and down on the hood of a car owned by a woman with whom he was having a parking dispute. Court documents show he was arrested after the driver refused to pull out of a parking space he wanted. The arresting officer wrote, "A few moments later the parking space in front of the victim opened up and [Sibrel] drove into it and parked." Sibrel "then walked up to the victim's car and jumped onto the hood, and then jumped up and down several times." The report says he caused about US$1,400 worth of damage,[14] after which Sibrel pleaded guilty to vandalism and was placed on probation.[

That'd be because we changed software twice since then.

I'm reading Arse Technica's rather "I miss the old Star Trek, where they sat around tables for hours talking"ish review, and noticed something in the comments. At least 6 people said "Karl Urban's underrated, but he's actually really good as McCoy!"
Uh, I guess you guys aren't clear on what "underrated" means. It sounds like you're accurately rating him.

Uh, I guess you aren't clear that they meant other people's ratings.
I agree with them, though. I like Karl.

Yup. Frist login yesterday. Everything looks new and shiny. Might need a few days before I start hating all this.

Elizabeth Warren pretended to be part-Indian to make it more likely she'd be hired at a series of colleges. A lot of Indians live on reservations.

@Tsaukpaetra oh is that how it's done?
This was probably the wake up call his wife needed. The call that says "you need to up your game, sweetheart".

@Boner said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:
Wait...how does this work?
- Guy's at his extracurricular hotel and uses his real address to register.
- Hotel sends a survey to his house
- Wife sees it and goes mental
- Guy fills in the survey anyway and sends it back to the hotel
- They digitize it, then print it, then take a picture of it on a wooden table?
-
@coldandtired it looks like an e-survey. The guy seems dumb enough to have a shared email account with his wife.

@Tsaukpaetra most hotel inkeeper laws make you show and ID in the us. I used to be front desk agent. They take a photo copy and keep it on file. So unless hes rolling fake credentials they just put it down. However there are enough shady places he just screwed up by choosing the wrong place.... Or was a dick to front desk agent.
