I'm not mocking Gen Z for the use of 'for reals' you understand, merely observing it.
What are your feelz on Gen X using it?
Asking for a friend.

Remove for reals
All your imaginary files are right where you left them

@sockpuppet7 Because I didn't get to the MVD in time to renew my driver's license on my 65th birthday (Arizona licenses are good until then from whenever you originally got them, and then need to be renewed every five years thereafter with a vision retest), I now have an actual birthday (April 4th) and an "observed" birthday (April 10th).

I didn't find any information saying Chuck Norris being born in 1945 anyway. We'll have to presume he was already 5 year old when he stopped the nazis, not just 1 day old

@Gern_Blaanston at $1.25 each that’s practically a bargain if they’re as good as advertised.

When I first started reading and posting here, it was several weeks before I finally internalized that certain regulars didn't look anything like their avatars. (It was more obvious for others.)

@da-Doctah You mean @boomzilla doesn't actually look like ?

@Tsaukpaetra A british half-asian approaching middle age, slightly overweight...
Kinda like this, but with darker hair?:
Also, you misspelt "Projects" on your CV.

I really should clear out the site. It's no longer running on an NSLU2 USB NAS after all...

It already runs NodeJS and PHP. I can't see why it couldn't do something slightly useful.

@Zerosquare Instructions still unclear. Is that inclusive or exclusive or?

Yes

While unions can help negotiate higher wages, they won't be able to help against being replaced by AI, because AIs don't tend to join unions.

It could if it weren't having all its CPU time taken by a crappy NodeJS process.
-
@Arantor said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:
crappy NodeJS process
On a somewhat related and somewhat serious note, NodeJS has been obsoleted and overtaken. First the original author of NodeJS created Deno, which is still based on V8, but still faster due to other improvements in things like event loop and syscall bindings, and then someone created Bun, which is based on WebKit JavaScriptCore, which overtook V8 by quite a big margin since Google forked WebKit and replaced it with the then better V8.
Unfortunately Deno is not very compatible with Node and Bun is supposed to be better, but there are still some gaps due to which some things still don't work with it.
-
@Bulb it's not enough that NodeJS exists but it keeps spawning fragmentary copies of itself, in the same way that npm, pnpm and yarn also exist (and Bun is threatening to do things that genuinely butthurt the Node/npm community, like accepting not-strictly-JSON JSON files that allow trailing commas OMG)
-
@Arantor said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:
npm
Life would be so much simpler if everybody could just settle on using either RPM or DEB and stopped reinventing square wheels for each language community.
-
@Bulb I’ve never worked with DEB, but using RPMs for anything other than what they’re currently used for sounds like a horrible idea.
Unless your idea is to set up a containment facility so npm can’t leave linux.
