French is ok
Not really, but at least it's not a throat disease.
Chicago has its own throat disease, even. Better than any lesser throat diseases.

@Zecc That's not a very good lie this last year.

Why not? I mean, you'd have to come up with a new lie when the mall closes, but looks like it's a while to closing hours in the photo.

@Carnage said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:

And they've been completely closed for the last half year (well the grocery stores and drug stores were open, but that's not when two girls spend hours shopping; depends on where it is, of course).

(well the grocery stores and drug stores were open, but that's not when two girls spend hours shopping; depends on where it is, of course)depending on where you live.FTFY. The original joke didn't specify a location. But it's likely to be in a state where non-marital sex was not banned due to covid. (Or non-family visitations overall, but...)
-
@acrow said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:

It's impossible to check who is going to which house/flat, so that being banned was rather symbolic. But closing the shops was enforced.

Ah. You haven't lived in one of those neighborhoods yet...

@Benjamin-Hall the movie Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra has a scene where Caesar dictates a letter to his scribe, and ends it with "signed, Cesar" but with super-exaggerated English accent. Not sure how they made it in English dub, and I couldn't find any clips on YouTube.

I'm filing this next to the one that says if Leonardo da Vinci were alive today he'd be considered truly remarkable. For starters, he'd be over 550 years old.
(Q: What would Abraham Lincoln be doing if he were alive today?
A: Desperately clawing at the inside of his coffin.)

@El_Heffe wait, there's people who don't do that?

@topspin Yes.
I ignore them completely.

Back when I lived in Poland, the number of spam/scam calls I was getting was so low that I just picked up every call (except international). Now that I live in US, I get 3-4 spam calls everyday so I just point all unknown numbers straight to voicemail.

I get zero spam calls. I just don't like getting called out of the blue.
-
@topspin get != pick up. I highly doubt your phone number hasn't appeared even once in any data breach ever. You must get at least one phone call a year that you (knowingly or unknowingly) ignore.
-

TRWTF is that googling most phone numbers is completely useless. You'll just get a bunch of spam websites.

Does cold calls from recruiters count?
-
@Carnage Only if they have such a thick Indian accent that you can't understand anything they say.

I've worked with Indians so much that I understand the accent. Except the really mumbly ones.
-

In my experience, those are the ones who become recruiters.

If mine has, it certainly hasn't been in high rotation. Or, Google is just simply that good at blocking spam calls...
