I'll have to go tell the national railway company. They've had it wrong this whole time.

Then why is the word ‘shipment’ derived from ‘ship’‽
I would rather say that a shipment is a unit of cargo that goes from point A to point B. If you talk about all that's loaded in the vehicle or vessel—any kind of vehicle or vessel—it's cargo. If you are talking about the stuff to be moved from A to B, it's shipment.

Once when we were teenagers, we were curious, so we asked my artistic brother to empty his pockets. He was carrying at least 30 pens, "regular" pencils, mechanical pencils, colored pencils, and markers.

American here: Uh, wh-... huh?
Carrots are eaten either raw, cooked, chopped into a soup or stew, or shredded into a salad or cake. The only one of those with sugar is the cake, and it's part of the recipe.

Is that train carrying a load of Oculus Rifts?

To be fair, or honest, or something, I make carrots with a glaze/sauce of orange juice, brown sugar, and a little cornstarch to thicken it. (Works well on beets, too.) But that and carrot cake are the only times that carrots and sugar come anywhere near each other.

From the ones I've been on, there is no "reconnecting". You just drop out. You may have it on your side, but in the call, you're gone. Plus his mute icon is active.

I swear, they made this interview specifically for the purpose of letting that guy post that joke. I just can't get myself to believe that anyone could possibly use those words naturally when talking about movies.

@Gąska "Raw and unsanitized" is how I would describe most movies of recent decades.

And I often buy bottles of "carrot and orange" drink at the dollar store. Carrots are definitely in the "sweet" category (as are cucumbers, but that's for another thread).

Back in the seventies when K-Tel records were heavily advertised on TV, every commercial said something like "all of today's big hits on one stereo LP: Tony Orlando and Dawn! Helen Reddy! KC and the Sunshine Band! And Many, Many More!"
I wanted to put together a band and call it "Many, Many More!"
I figured K-Tel would have to include at least one of our songs on every record or we could sue them for false advertising.

People used to troll the Kinect with handles like "XBox Turn Off".

He looks much too talented. They’d throw him off the project for embarrassing them.

@Zecc There should be a Rule #342: If you can think of it, but discarded the idea because it was absurd, somebody not only didn't, but proceeded to realize it.
-
@Bulb and you can order it on Amazon.
-
@Gąska That would be Corollary #343.
-
@Bulb
And #344 is that you'll find a cheap knock-off on alibaba/wish/aliexpress or whatever chinesium site tickles your fancy

For me that's the "poodle on a stick" principle, named for a phrase I thought was original with me until I googled it.
