⏱ You know you've been spending too much time on TDWTF when...
-
Unlike the Dutch 'G' which is a hard spit in the face.
When travelling in Germany and Netherlands, I was told by Germans, "Dutch isn't a language. It's a throat disease."
-
I also presented him with a 70-ish % hit rule for determining gender in Croatian,
Lots of passable transvestites there, or what?

On a different (non-Discourse) forum, you highlight some text, hit 'Quote', and are surprised when it quotes the whole post instead of just what you highlighted.
I did that earlier.

"Dutch isn't a language. It's a throat disease."
And I'm out of cough syrup again! How many farts is the nearest pharmacy?

Not CS!

Not CS!
Well, to be fair, CS also copied XSS around that way. Not like Disc,,, kmkjdfjnhghhnhhfgdjhj
No, sorry, didn't manage to finish that with a straight face. Some fist pounding might've also happened. With keyboard in the way.
-
-
I totally don't miss the slow click+load over to the preview tab. Gah.
-
It immediately goes belly-up?
No, that's one area CS is definitely better than Discourse. You got not only the bit you quoted, but all of the markup and nested quotes correctly quoted.

-
-shrug- then i'll just go back to being a founding member of the 5% club (albeit with a few abeyances)
I doubt it. Since you lost the badge when you got the spoon, if you ever get the 5% back you'll probably have it as of the date you regained it, and you'll just have to remember what it was like Back In The Day and You Kids Get Off Your Lawn and so on.
@blakeyrat ">ETA: INB4 yip yip
, Appakyon etc.Oh, look, @mentions break the
abbr
tag.
-
ah, but the difference would be....i was actually there on opening day

You can try, but I've watched enough walking dead I have a suit of anti-zombie armor.
-

-
Oh, I don't particularly care. I'm just pulling one of your tails.
-
Which one.
(please don't be sixy. please don't be sixy.... please don't be sixy)
-
You realize asking to have one left alone is the worst thing you could do, right?
-
Shimata! i didn't use my inside my head voice for that!
-
YKYetc. when you see DF on a license plate and you think of a certain game.
-
You know you've not been spending enough time on TDWTF when it takes 2 days to catch up on all unread topics/posts.
-
YKYHBSTMTOWTDWTFW someone mentions a "Pendant Dungeon" and you're at first confused about how a dungeon can be pedantic.
-
TBH, I'm now confused about the connection between "pendant" and "dungeon," too.
-
A dungeon where you store your pendants?

I now use Server Cooties to describe odd, repeated server issues with no apparent cause.
-
YKYHBSTMTOWTDWTFW you get a new piece of software and your first thought is "How can I break/abuse it?"
-
YKYHBSTMTOWTDWTFW you get a new piece of software and your first thought is "How can I break/abuse it?"
Is that a YKYHBSTMTOWTDWTFW thing, or just a sign that you work with software?

QA mentality?
-
QA mentality?
My current role has me doing architect, developer, QA, and admin roles.
-
YKYHBSTMTOWTDWTFW you see a stupidly long initialism and assume it stands for You Know You've...
-
YKYHBSTMTOWTDWTFW you start using YKYHBSTMTOWTDWTFW
-
YKYHBSTMTOWTDWTFW you look at the really long acronym and wonder if @PJH would consider making an emoji for it so you can shorthand it.
Incidentally, that's a discofeature not yet invented: text extensions. Of course, you would need to throw in the odd spellargings into them to keep @accalia happy.

I make enough spellarings without mechanical aid. TYVM
:-P

I make enough spellarings without mechanical aid
Which reminds me: need to get back to working on Spellar ;)

Filed under: I'd love to see how that looks on other browsers
Empty boxes on Chrome (Linux) and the FF version of the same on FF. I have installed almost every font in my package manager and Unicode usually renders pretty well here. I've got nothing for those. What do they look like to you?
-
I haven't installed the necessary fonts on this 'puter. I'm sure it's fine on my other one.
-
Works in Conkeror on mac:
-
With Emojify on Chrome:
-
-
I plan to uninstall it as soon as the version of Chrome with native emoji support rolls out; I'm not really a fan of the Hangouts emoji set, which is what Emojify uses to replace the characters so you can see them.
-
true, but it is better than the little square boxes.
-
Why is the 'S' so weird?
-
Empty boxes on Chrome (Linux)
Chrome on Win7. I almost never have problems with any other Unicode characters since I installed whatever font it was that was recommended here.

Nah, no need. She can munge things just fine on her own. :P
