Too late. The SAN damage is already done after the first hit. You're doomed.

I'm not. "Not even once." I haven't taken the first hit, and I have no intention of doing so.

I thought you said "not again", which would imply at least one exposure.

Perhaps it would have been clearer if I had said "Not again. Not even
oncea first time."

Bikeshedding poll of the day:
if(thing.IsEmpty()) return 0; else { int param = getWhatever(); return thing.GetAverageValue(param); }
OR
if(thing.IsEmpty()) return 0; int param = getWhatever(); return thing.GetAverageValue(param);
?
if(!thing.IsEmpty()) { return thing.GetAverageValue(getWhatever()); } else { return 0; }
Or if your language has optionals:
return thing.GetAverageValue(getWhatever()).getOrElse(0);
-
@Gąska said in The Official Status Thread:

Shirley this would be better
if(thing.IsNotEmpty()) { return thing.GetAverageValue(getWhatever()); } else { return 0; }
-
@izzion yes, it would. But most languages don't have
IsNotEmpty
method (one of few things that I like in Scala!)
-
@Gąska
We don't pay you to sit there and complain about language methods, write the new function yourself!
-
if (!thing.isNotEmpty() != true)
-
if ((thing.Count > 0) != true)
(obviously
public int Count { get => (Items != null) && isNotEmpty() ? items.Count : 0; }
)E: rob a man of Intellisense when he hasn't got his own and... wait, it's actually better this way

Status: You would think that the "Escalations" department would mean you get priority, right? Nope. Same department as the lowest tech support. Got put in a "queue" for a callback. Fuckers.
They must really not want our business.
Here's a hint: If you have a goddamn queue for people that are escalating issues, and you somehow don't have the power to keep that queue empty at all times, you're doing something wrong!

I must've had a good SAN score beforehand; I tried it once, and decided that it really wasn't a good thing at all.

Oh god, why is there so much wood. This is why I don't do gardening. It's going to take many car loads to get this to the dump.

Protip: for a good estimate how much wood there will be after cutting down a tree, look how big it is before you cut it down.

And multiply that estimate by at least 10.

There is still that HUGE issue of Windows Update they need to fix.
I'll stay away from it, at least until it's on par with Debian

If it's hardwood, you can make lye out of it. Then you can make soap or have corrosive fun.

IIRC when it was announced the Stardock guy made a joke about MS stealing his idea

Status: I'm still shocked how Valve has turned entire CS:GO upside down with updates this past month. And just when I thought it couldn't possibly get any worse... today they've removed Cache from active map pool and replaced it with Vertigo, currently the youngest map that's still being heavily tweaked every week, disrupting all strategies. This means all pro players have to learn a brand new map, and have to learn it fast because it's already in the game and there's no going back. This, coupled with a major overhaul of money bonuses they've done earlier this month, will make the upcoming tournaments... interesting, to say the least.
