@loopback0 I assume it's a similar reason to why they have a firmware updater that bricks your controller.
They take pleasure in your suffering?

@pie_flavor okay, cool.

@kazitor not the first time, not the last, and not the only country.

Status: Everything smells like strawberries. Maybe because I cut the tops off and froze 2 flats (about 3 quarts each) of fresh strawberries, for use in sorbet, jam, and syrup.

@Rhywden Yeah, he told me. Still, one hell of an experience.
-
@pie_flavor Are you alright?
-
@Gribnit No, I may need an infusion of avocado toast to properly get over this emotional distress.

So your full name was Kaz Itor?
-
@Jaloopa Unfortunately, it only revealed the username restriction on the page after submitting name and email (and actually confirming the email too, I think). After that I considered trying a new registration like you suggest, but didn't deem it to be worth the effort.

Isn't St. Patrick's Day cabbage supposed to be badly overcooked? I'm a little worried about this recipe not calling for overcooking the cabbage.

As long as there’s enough Guiness nobody will notice.

I would fix the sink

Now I need to check if my ESTA is still valid. Because, of course, the US interpretation of mutual treaties for visa free travel is that you have to apply and pay for the visa waiver thingie instead of paying for the visa.

Of course it's not. Not this shit again.
It's valid two years, so I'm going to post-pone that for another few months on the off chance of re-using this one in the future. And the whole process as well as the DHS website will definitely be worth another post in WTF bites.

It also seems to only need to be valid for entry, not your whole stay. I didn't read too carefully the last time… but it was close to the line for sure.

@chaostheeternal NieR:Automata is really good and you should play it but most importantly DO NOT RESEARCH IT
I have now played it twice, gearing up for run 3, but I'm quite curious what kind of research might be bad?
I mean, the up-skirt-cam achievement is haha-snortle-chuckle, but... eh?
To be fair...
The revelation given to 9S near the end of playthrough 2 didn't surprise me in the slightest. I had assumed it almost immediately, possibly even before reaching the Resistance.
Which makes the Android superiority complex exhibited by 9S so irritating to me.
Fuck 9S.

Status: Nice debugging session you got there, shame if something were to happen to it...
Additional information: The runtime has encountered a fatal error. The address of the error was at 0x2229e663, on thread 0x3bbc. The error code is 0xc0000005. This error may be a bug in the CLR or in the unsafe or non-verifiable portions of user code. Common sources of this bug include user marshaling errors for COM-interop or PInvoke, which may corrupt the stack.

Status: This codebase keeps giving. (In the following,
read_pointer
is auint8_t *
; reading from it gives an unsigned byte.)uint16_t next_header = (uint16_t) *read_pointer; if (next_header == 0x4002) { read_pointer += 2; if (read_pointer >= end_of_buffer_region) { read_pointer = buffer_region; } } else { // ... real code ...
Reading a byte, zero extending it to 16 bits, then comparing to a value that is definitely never going to be found in a byte, yeah, that's so going to be a useful comparison. The magicalness of the constant isn't great, but it really doesn't matter because it's a totally dumb condition here.
(Nothing in this callsite is
volatile
. It's genuinely useless.)

There's a Burger king near my job, and I've been doing some price checking. The normal prices are:
- Menus (burger+drink+fries): around 7€
- Just the burgers: around 4€
Which is reasonable and all. But then, hidden in the last section of their order kiosks, they have a bunch of "budget" items:
- Double cheeseburger menu: 3,9€
- Plain cheeseburger: 1,2€
That's half the price for menus, and a quarter of the price for burgers! Granted, they are slightly smaller burgers, but not twice as small and certainly not 4 times as small.
So why are there two prices for almost the same products? Is it so they can use those cheaper prices in advertisements to lure you in, then hope you don't find them? Is it a fluke and they'll only be available for a temporary time? Or do people really value a Whopper™ that much more than just a "cheeseburger"?
-
@anonymous234 The basic assed cheeseburgers, at least in the US, are SERIOUSLY sad 1oz patties (they're 1/8th lb uncooked, halve that for cooked weight).
You get more meat in a typical ham and cheese packed lunch which costs practically nothing.

@dkf I assume the intended code would have been:
uint16_t next_header = *(uint16_t*) read_pointer;
