Nope!
But it's not unexpected.

You know the quality of Samsung code. What made you think it was a good idea to run it on your brain?!

Status: Just discovered a nice little bug when running low-reserve mode (untested) on the master server.
Essentially, I have it set to have only one VM in reserve (the technical minimum if I want to have the game servers be available at all), and it decided to destroy all of them.
Will have to investigate that, 'cuz I definitely want to downscale to the minimum needed.
Hopefully the log will provide insights on why my maths are wrong.

Of course it does. It's built in Rust!

it’s a sloth. I don’t think I should explain the joke any further. That's what I assumed, but it's hard to be sure from that picture. I can kind of make out an eye, an ear and a foot, but not really what sort of animal they belong to. Also, the back (?) leg and foot make a shape that looks rather like a rabbit's head and ear.

Wish me luck (but mainly courage and freedom from gut-wrenching anxiety). Going to try speed dating tonight. Also trying to avoid having any expectations.

@Benjamin-Hall Didn’t you try that before?
Good luck.

Good luck.I signed up but events got cancelled at the last minute, so I never went before.
This was a small event (6 women, 5 men). Not bad, though none were really super interesting. It was outside in the main nightlife area of <City>, so the noise was pretty bad. Nice night though. Also ended quicker than I thought, which was fine.
Overall--meh. Better than sitting at home playing FFXIV all night, but not necessarily something I'd do again (at least not in that venue).

Status: made a few things with Blender even though what little I knew months ago I've long since forgotten.
Well they say you learn best by doing and I picked up a few things. Though if anyone knows some good in-depth tutorials, preferably not videos, I'd appreciate a link.
Now to print them…
-
@kazitor Unfortunately, almost all of the good (and not-so-good) tutorials I know of are videos. https://www.blender.org/support/tutorials/ has links to a bunch of beginning and advanced tutorials from a lot of different artists, only a few of which I've looked at. Generally, if I need help figuring out how to do something, I google "blender thing_I_want_to_do", which usually results in a video, Blender StackExchange, and/or Blender manual.
Sorry I can't be of more help with tutorials, but if you have specific questions, there's a good chance I can answer them (except about printing; I have no experience with that).
-
@HardwareGeek Thanks, I'll look into that.
I'm not inherently opposed to videos, they just tend not to be as good. Too much pausing, trying to skip to the bit you're interested in and so on. The first (video) tutorial I looked at was actually really solid, but it was focused on just making a single particular thing rather than more general techniques.

@kazitor It helps if you click View Transcript, and then you can skim through it and find what you're looking for. Clicking the text brings you to that point in the video.

Status: I'm a fucking retard.
So I parted out a replacement PC build for a CT machine and finally got to installing it today.
Assumptions that were made: Existing case and power supply would be sufficient, and we're keeping the NICs, graphics card, and drives for storage. Save some money, you know?
Well, the unit is a HP Z400 workstation, which unfortunately meant the motherboard is mounted on a sled that has a custom IO shield that's not removable. Well, fuck.
We can dry fit the rest though, and that's when I put on the dunce cap: It has three PCI-e slots, one is the full 16x slot (for the graphics) and the other two are 1x for the two extra nics. Except dumbass me didn't check spacing and the graphics card takes up two slots worth (effectively covering one of the 1x slots ) Well... fuck.
So I'm off to buy a different motherboard and case (and power supply, natch). $200 later (and two hours. Location was not so great) and I get through mounting the new board in and wired up and all the stuff installed.
Except it won't boot.
Stupid fucker won't even POST beep (yes it includes a speaker donger). Just powers on, then off after ten seconds. Goddammit.
Well, maybe it was one of the components? Remove everything but CPU and memory. Still no dice.
Apparently this board isn't compatible with the CPU or something. Fuck.
Go back to plan A. Boots fine, except the third nic isn't in there. Whatever, we'll deal with it later.
Got Windows installed and updated. And all the softwares. Ended up in a reboot loop as the retarded installer tried uninstalling a device driver, failed, then the wrapper decided the best idea would be to immediately reboot after having set itself as a runonce item. Fuckers! It failed after the first reboot, just move on!
Anyways, got everything but that third nic hooked up, everything is going relatively smoothly. Had to find a disk that was burned in 2011 for the "mask" data (and then the disk burned later that contained the calibration data), but lo and behold, it talks to da matchine!
But wait, what's this? Sensor not communicating? Well, seems that's what the third connection was for.
Somehow, this million-dollar-plus machine needs a gigabit connection for the control arm, and a gigabit connection for the camera.
I can guarantee you this didn't need to be this way. You can't justify to me needing two separate connections for this, there's no way they're using up all the bandwidth sufficiently to need two connections!
Whargarble.
Anyways, so today I spent nine hours fucking a machine, how was y'alls day?

Where are these transcripts? A quick check didn't find anything. Sounds perfect though.

No, this is a side job, kinda freelance. I support a doctor's office.

Hahaha you assume this place has a risk management office.
I'm the one who fixed their filer so the RAID at least worked properly (two failed disks! And the supposed backups were going to a smaller subset of those disks! What the hell...).
Oh, that reminds me, I gotta check up on that failing online backup...

I've been slowly getting things in order. This isn't my main job so it's taking a lot longer than you might expect.
Well, that second thing might not be an issue for ouch. Much longer....

Because, you know, reading the damn manual, tutorials, or paying attention to what we've previously discussed would apparently be too much work.I'd prefer to get to do some coding.
-
@topspin what makes you think they'll read your epic email if they can't even be bothered to read tutorials?
-
@Gąska It was in direct response to their question.
Which was basically:
how can I do the needful?
what do you mean? Can you be more specific which part of this you need help with?
I want to compute the needful. How?
sighNow, if they’ll actually understand it, that’s a different question.
