I only saw the one in the very north of California because it flickered so much.I may have looked at the JSON object to find the last couple of them...
Unfortunately, it's nothing so simple as having URLs to a PNG of each of the comics, but I was able to guess from the
x
/y
coordinates roughly where to look for each of them. Also, the comics were at the beginning of the array, were identified with"type":"comic"
, and had anid
that was descriptive enough that I was able to tell which of them corresponded to comics I'd already found.

Status: So, here we are again. The yearly exam about astronomy. And, as always, the first part is multiple choice and the first question is a gift, really.
Because, you see, the title of the exam ("Astronomy" in 30 pt font) is located directly at the top of the page and the question, directly below it, asks:
What do you call the science of the stars?
Astrology, Planetology or Astronomy? If there's ever a class where noone gets that wrong I shall have to break out the champagne.
This time it's 4 of 15 who failed.
At least none selected Planetology.

I saw an advert for a "100% biodegradable credit card" from a bank that advertises itself as eco-friendly. So, being a smartass, my first thought was "what about the chip? That's definitely not biodegradable".
Turns out they explicitly address that: you can cut it out, mail it to them in a post-free envelope, and they'll recycle it for you.

@Jaloopa said in The Official Status Thread:

Unless said person has only had bad teachers since the day they learned reading, no teaching could be bad enough to justify that outcome. In fact even a “null” teacher wouldn’t.

Status: This old hard drive I as using for the Wii seems to have gained unexpected and unknowable corruption (according to the program the I'm using on the Wii). Error 3001, apparently. The FAT32 partition is seemingly fine.
So, copying over to an SD card (As you do) and noticing an interesting thing:
Quite interesting to visually see where the disk gets slower.

@Tsaukpaetra I would still get plenty of use out of my Wii, if the SD card slot hadn't broken. But now I can't boot anything interesting.

@Tsaukpaetra said in The Official Status Thread:

I assume you're accessing it through USB? I'm not sure, but this could be the reason. It seems really unlikely that a 200 GB disk doesn't support SMART.

@Tsaukpaetra I have a cheap USB 3.0 pendrive from back when USB 3.0 was still new. The first gigabyte writes 4x faster than the other 31.

Yeah, it's using a really shitty China adapter. I don't think the drve itself is going out though, based on this simple test:
A surface scan went down with no problems either.

STATUS frustrated. I've to look over documentation from a colleague that is being passed on to devops. I could forgive hard to read instructions on the language barrier but for fucks sake. They're expecting devops to install developer tools to run this bullshit. @HardwareGeek There's a chrome setting to let you zoom in on any page. It would definitely come in handy in this case.

In landscape orientation, it's big enough to at least see that the play/pause button is a play/pause symbol and read (just barely) the time counter and recently played list, though it still doesn't come close to filling the screen. Pinch-zoom works, although trying to move the volume control just scrolls the content.

Status: Apparently I'm dumping wrong.
Isn't the point of creating a dump so you can figure out what the process is doing at that point in time and examine all the memories and stuff?
Even from a Debug build in which I have all the PDBs (of my code) I can't get anything more than "It was in the middle of External Code, no stack for you!".
Frustrating.

Not my code, not our code, Argh!!!
The mentioned code is:
struct aiColor3D { /*... blah other overrides ...*/ /** Access a specific color component */ float operator[](unsigned int i) const { return *(&r + i); } /** Access a specific color component */ float& operator[](unsigned int i) { return *(&r + i); } //! Red, green and blue color values float r, g, b; } PACK_STRUCT; // !struct aiColor3D
I have no idea how to fix this, since I'm pretty sure putting in a bounds check won't eliminate the error (as that's seemingly not the problem) but I'm bad at pointer arithmetic and so don't rightly know...
-
Basically, that code is doing this:
switch(i) { case 0: return r; case 1: return g; case 2: return b; default: /* undefined behaviour */ }
Depending on use, I'd recommend to either insert that switch, or actually store the colour components in an array. I don't think you could actually cleanly write this with pointer manipulation.
