@Tsaukpaetra I mean, the visuals were great. It's mostly the story that sucked.

I suppose you can't really expect more from they who don't know the source material.
IMO producers should start realizing Fanfiction, contest out the best community-voted ones and make it.
Won't ever happen, but I can dream, right?
-
@hungrier Not a fan of that style of game. Looks relatively good for that style, at least.

Based on what sort of fics get the most votes and favourites and stuff, that's a one-way ticket to utter shite

But it would be awesome! Or was that aweful? Awful? One of those.

Open-world sandbox, or Zelda-style? Either way, it's really good.

@e4tmyl33t Try getting hold of a usb fan. I had one in Gibraltar when the Aircon wasn't working so well

@hungrier Open world and 3d Zelda are both categories that disinterest me. Of those, I'm willing to believe it's top-tier, and enjoy listening as people play it, but I just feel no need to play it.
The only new game that's come out recently that I legitimately want to play is Nier Automata, but not enough to buy it.

It's quite a lot like an Open World once you've made it past the opening Bullet Hell and 3D Swordsmanship section.

If it continues I may just go out to my car and work there with the fans/AC on.

This should convince anyone that Automata is worth buying...

@Magus I'm an Open World fan. :p
There's a bit which is much like a side-scrolling beat-em-up beneath a funfair, and there's also a part that I'm told is a lot like Castlevania. In a castle, of course. It's really a very varied game; I'm not at all sure what other bits of it will be like. But the core so far has been Open World.

Does anyone know of any problems I'm not foreseeing with the command
/bin/bash -c "source some_file; exec $0 $@" command arg1 arg2
invoked via exec()?
Hm, I think I'm not 100% sure if
some_file
modifies the positional variables. It doesn't on dev but since when does that mean anything.

Status: I do hope that I was able to convince a guy that it's a very bad idea to store credit card (including the CVV) information on his server because he cannot figure out how to do recurring payments with PayPal otherwise.
And, no, he cannot use a payment processor like BrainTree because, for some unfathomable reason, this whole thing is partially located in the UAE (don't ask, I didn't understand either).
he also complained that using this approach instead:
would force his users temporarily away from his site. Geeze.

Amazon is a multimillion dollar company with a real security team and enough lawyers to take the Alamo. What is safe for them is far from what is safe for others

It's amazing how manufacturers still can't get it right after however many decades they've been around.

Status: Did you know that (apparently) you can't catch dll load errors when lazily invoked by a constructor.
This is a major problem if you're in DLL hell and the whole application dies just because you're loading the 32-bit dll in a 64-bit context...
Edit: More specifically, going from a .Net application loading up C++ dlls in order to Pinvoke them.

Amazon do it and don't care.
Amazon probably uses tokenization, because there is no way someone would get PCI certification and be allowed to charge VISA and MasterCard storing it.

Package arrived from Amazon... for my roommate. So I left it in his room.
Can't stop thinking... Amazon wouldn't combine two packages for different people in one, right? Right?

Try Metal Gear Rising, seems similar in gameplay and often goes under 5 euro. There's a long ass review somewhere in the spotlight thread.
