@cartman82
FWIW, you get a fair amount of pokeballs just from leveling up early. And then as you go past PokeStops (which you can tag the same one every 5 minutes), you get 2-4 additional pokeballs. But if you don't live within tag range of a stop, that might get a little dicey.
-
@cartman82 said in The Official Status Thread:
And those pokeballs sure look expensive.
There's lots of stuff out where the great glowing gopher in the sky is (statues, for example) where you can usually pick up 3-4 pokeballs a day. And at least in the US, they were crazy about what they define as statues: the strip mall I mentioned above has these goofy metal outlines of rabbits. There's like 9 of 'em scattered around the parking lot. I don't even know why, because they don't tie in to the place's name or anything. But each one is a "pokespot" where you can get the pokeballs. Next door is a bunch of townhomes with a little monument at the entrance--the monument's a pokespot. Across the street is a Mexican restaurant with these weird statues of a mariachi band--two more pokespots.
I guess if you lived out in the country you might have a tougher time.

Yes, you (as opposed to the pokemon) get XP by catching them. I guess--I haven't gotten level 5 yet--your pokemon level by battling at gyms; i've got 7 or 8 of them near me.

Yes yes, but that means I have to bust out an encoder just for an experiment never meant to to farther than "what happens if I plug it in? "
Filed under: I had my entire library encoded to 32 kbps at one point so it could fit on the 256mb sdcard in my Pocket PC

One thing I read it doesn't seem like you can heal your Pokémon except with potions.

Any votes?

@blakeyrat Also I found this AMAZING paint job for the Catapult A1:
It has "Warning: Incoming Missiles" painted on one of the missile doors, and "MEOW" stenciled under the cockpit. Alas, I hardly ever drive the A1.

@blakeyrat i like the second one.

Status: I start my next online class on Tuesday. I take all my classes online because I work full time. Today, the professor makes an introduction post:
"The first live meeting will be on 7/12 ( Tuesday ) at 9:00AM and it will last about an hour. Unless otherwise agreed by the whole class, lectures will start at 9:00AM during the first week."!!! ??? I'm going to be at work! I've taken over a dozen online classes already and none of them had fucking live meetings or hours I had to attend.
I enrolled (and paid) 2 months ago and this is the first it has been mentioned.

Update: apparently this wasn't really necessary, as it has a chrome-cast like setup that can be done by connecting to the wifi network it hosts when it's not set up. Whodathunkit?
Anyways, this thing apparently communicates to the cloud. Yay. The on-board webserver appears to be completely dedicated to setting up wifi and that's it.

Have you told the professor about your situation? It might well be possible to work out an alternative for you. The alternative might involve extra work for you or being a proper grown up and very proactive about saying (by email?) when you're having problems understanding, but one of the things about universities is that they really can adapt how they teach to how the particular students need to go about being taught. They're not grade school sausage machines!
It does sound like this is a tutorial sort of thing. Those are useful for making sure that students are not struggling, and unexpected non-attendance is a warning sign from the teacher's perspective. OTOH, as you're a part time mature student, attendance isn't quite so critical: you're probably more motivated to get on with learning than the normal students, and you'll be a lot more certain of your judgement.

@Tsaukpaetra Why are you using a wifi-enabled water heater?
You're going to feel pretty stupid when it gets hacked. Especially if they install a Bitcoin miner. You'll have all the hot water you need, but your electric bill'll be through the roof.

Yeah, I did that before making that post, obviously. I got chided for using email as a communication channel (prof is somewhat eccentric) and he posted the email publicly.
He told me attendance is mandatory but I can join and leave without participating. He also told me that programmers with previous experience tend to struggle more with his classes because they don't follow his instructions explicitly.
I might link to his blog in a sidebar. This guy shows signs of having a few screws loose. (Like he posted a ~5 page faux flowchart showing how to be an effective student. Or his mini rant about "when is a code a code")
-

You probably ought to get ahead of him, and complain about him to someone else at the school (do you have anything like a course tutor?) so that you've got something to point to as him being obviously targeting you if/when you come to quibbling over grades.
He sounds like the kind of academic that gives the others a bad reputation by association.

@error I'd be straight on to management at that point if only because an online course with mandatory in-person attendance is not what you signed up for at all, and it likely conflicts directly with the way they market their online coursework, which directly conflicts with customer satisfaction which directly conflicts with continued revenue.

For the hipster feel.
Anyways, this thing apparently has an API whose documentation page looks like this:
http://io.myrheem.com/So, I'm going to attempt reverse engineering their API that the actual management page uses, which points to a completely different domain. Yay!

Status: Last night a unit-mate introduced me to the wonder that is the Locust chassis in MWO. You'd think a 20 ton mech would be useless, right? OMG it hits WAY above its weight class, ESPECIALLY the Pirate's Bane hero. Jesus.
I have like 80 HP, I did well over 400 HP damage to the enemy.
Pirate's Bane:
- 20 tons
- Top speed of 141 KPH (fast enough to outrun most LRMs)
- 2x medium laser (with fire rate bonus)
- 2x small laser (with fire rate bonus)
- 2x machine guns (2000 rounds of ammo) (with fire rate bonus)
And it that wasn't enough: ECM!
This thing's insane.
EDIT: and while I typed that, I realized I'd be better off with 3x medium lasers, then they'd all have the same fire rate and the smaller laser's faster fire rate doesn't do any good if I put them in the same group as mediums anyway.
EDIT EDIT: actually I'm wrong, with 2x medium and 2x small the lasers do 16 damage per-shot instead of 15 with 3x medium.

Yeah it's that but I'm still going to be at my day job doing work. I may or may not be available to remote in.
I'm going to connect in the background and miss most of the lectures. It's a very compressed schedule. I'll give it a week and see if I need to withdraw to maintain my 3.9 GPA.

Currently, all player agents share a single strategy. The strategy consists of sending several requests to the manager agent for all gameplay data, then picking a random direction to move in.
