@magus Damn that's hard to read!
For reference, it's 'Goldpray: A Dead Full of Creams'

JsonArrayStringToUStruct
utterly fails if the order of properties is not just-so?

well the arrays are ordered but not the object keys.

Just checking my sanity.
Figured out the problem though, apparently in addition to decorating the
struct
withUSTRUCT()
. I had to decorate all the members withUPROPERTY()
because of course I had to.

I only just now discovered it due to buying Fire TVs for the house. Had I known their show was on I would have bought them long ago.

@tsaukpaetra no cURL? What kind of shitty host do they have?

No idea. Half of the links don't work (I think I was re-verifying and the code expired, and they're not equipped to handle that possibility).
Edit: And you're not going to mention that this was apparently called by
eval()
? :P
-
@tsaukpaetra it's vBulletin from before Internet Brands broke vBulletin, the scenario you describe should be fully handled. Though I don't know what patch level it's at, but core vB is too old to use cURL as the only method (most hosts didn't have it at the time of vB 3.x) so more likely that's the DragonByte stuff in there.
Lots of here like the URL without the www doesn't work.

That's part of how we lock down our production webservers at work. They also don't have write access to the filesystem (logs are streamed directly to other servers, of course). It irritates a lot of the shittier “consultants” but does make those PHP deployments really robust against attack.

-
@dkf I suppose it depends an awful lot on what you're doing.
Lack of write access should generally be the case (cf a certain horror story I posted) as the only writable folders should be for temporary things or user uploadable data. If you don't need the latter, no problem (the former you probably do for session data but even that is avoidable)
I could see a number of cases where cURL wouldn't be necessary, but general purpose web hosting (like that forum uses) has little excuse as there are more scenarios where this is helpful than not because connecting to third party APIs without cURL is painful.
But there are probably ways around that, e.g. fsockopen, file_get_contents with a customised stream context. Blocking cURL may only be an inconvenience ;)

Sitting on the toilet. People are having an animated discussion about how endianness differences prevent them using Oracle's backup and restore feature to migrate between an ancient Sparc Solaris instance and a new Linux instance.
How the fuck, Oracle.Wait, are other people on toilets too? Is that what enterprise people do for motivation to squeeze one out?

I'm facebook friends with two of the women I've had crushes on in the past. One still gives me the "man she's beautiful" feeling each time I see her posts. Sadly she's both happily married and WAY outside my league. The other has gone off-the-deep-end crazy and looks it. Sigh.
Being single and incompetent with relationships sucks.

@magus Air conditioning is a magical invention. I have no clue how people lived in hot places (I'm in Central Florida) without it.
-
@benjamin-hall Yeah, so, I basically consider where you're from and Arizona to be equal in terms of places I'd never want to live. Record here is 107 apparently.

Two months ago, I bought my first car with air-con, and now, I can't imagine ever owning a car without it.
And I live in the north-west of England.
-
@raceprouk Our family van growing up didn't have (working) air conditioning. I remember coming back from Southern California through the desert one summer. 10PM, sun's been down for hours, and it's still 110+ deg F out there. Didn't help that there were 8 of us in the van and all our stuff...
My car just recently needed more refrigerant. The day I spent without working air conditioning in that car was miserable and I don't drive much.

I'm not sure what's worse, not having A/C or not referring to A/C as A/C instead of "air-con"
-
@jazzyjosh I think that's a right-pondian usage. Of course, when I see A/C, I think either Alternating Current or AC/DC, but I'm just weird.

i have 5 PCs on my desk here at work, 8 monitors, and somehow i'm managing to use all of them semiactively
granted three of the PCs i'm just babysitting while they install applications for new hires because helpdesk is in meetings all day and i just need to click next whenever the thing pops up with a prompt.
so a copule of mousejigglers to make sure they don't go to sleep and....... boom.

@rhywden Small update and resolution regarding the ex-girlfriend situation:
So, I texted her and said that I'd like to talk about two minor matters to bring things to a close (one being the Spotify account still running on her iPad). She replied that she doesn't do phone calls or talks after a break-up because she doesn't trust people.
Nice.
Anyway, I reply that I wasn't going to talk about that, more that it's about the audio books she listens to and she replies that she has deleted the app yesterday and that she hopes that we can remain civil should we ever meet again. Now, this may be poor wording on her part but the undertone was a bit different from "I hope we can be friends".
Because my initial reaction was: "When have I ever been anything but civil towards you, even after the breakup?" I didn't say that, of course.
Yeah, that relationship was indeed built on quicksand. I'll cautiously advise our mutual friend to watch her carefully.
