From what I read, I rather got the impression that they wanted the fees to go up - at least that's my take from seeing comments like this:
That's what you get for paying such a low fee - why should miners process your transaction for such tiny sums in a timely manner or even at all?
(Not an actual comment but it captures the general direction).

Am disappoint. I though this was my chance to organize and sell tickets to a battle royal!

I didn't realize we were competing on internet upload speed apparently.
-
switching home internet providers
What, is it strange to you that DSL (even VDSL+ whatever it is now) is traditionally slower (on average) than cable?
-
Huh? I don't think we've ever had DSL. We just unplugged our AT&T modem and plugged in our Time Warner modem, and had them activate it. Instantly better speed with the same cables and we're paying less now too. AT&T is a joke.
-
I don't think we've ever had DSL. We just unplugged our AT&T modem
.... Ok, I'm confused. Does your modem have a phone jack (RJ-11) plug, or a cable (coaxial) jack?
I've never known AT&T to provide internet to their modems via the latter (though they do use Home PNA for the Set-Top boxes), and similarly, as far as I know Time Warner uses Cable modems (i.e. not RJ-11) for their internet.
-
Does your modem have a phone jack (RJ-11) plug, or a cable (coaxial) jack?
We have had a coaxial cable for as long as I remember. I think that way in the past when I was too young to remember we had something else, but with AT&T it has always been coaxial.
-
with AT&T it has always been coaxial.
Very odd. This makes me question my knowledge when running tech support for them for years...
Is it UVerse, sbcglobal, or what?

Status: Trying to figure out why merely thinking of homework causes my brain to shut down. Literally spent an hour on the question: "Explain the difference between an S corporation and a C corporation." which should be (basically) mostly copy-pasta from the textbook (except they don't really cover what a "C corporation" is).
What's wrong with me? After an hour of "work" I haven't finished one sentence (and what I do have written amounts to "The difference is, " and that's it. Literally).
-
So I'm "winning" our little competition because the defacto monopoly here is Comcast and they do a less shitty job than AT&T?
I'd give that up for having an actual choice of providers.
-
Is it UVerse, sbcglobal, or what?
We had AT&T UVerse with a DVR which connected to the modem via Home PNA or whatever it is called. Now we have a useless white cable :)
@blakeyrat I was just making a one-off quip, don't think too deeply into it :p
-
No!

Okay. You just really confused me when you said
We just unplugged our AT&T modem and plugged in our Time Warner modem, and had them activate it. Instantly better speed with the same cables
Because that's technically incorrect.shudders i... Am I triggered now? I'm remembering some really bad calls where I had to spend obnoxious amounts of time explaining why new Self-Install customers couldn't use their store-bought cable modem to get their Internet working...
-
Because that's technically incorrect.
Huh? No really, I was there the whole time. We unplugged the coaxial cable from our AT&T modem and plugged it into our new Netgear CM500, then the on-site tech from Time Warner called in and read off the MAC address. Bam, 10x better internet speeds through the exact same cable. After that we gathered the AT&T modem + the DVR and called AT&T to let them know why we were cancelling.
I'm pretty sure there is a miscommunication here but I don't know where it is.

From what I've heard, there's been Zoot Opia furry porn out there since the moment the first concept sketches were released.

**Status: ** atsounded by the that is Scummvm for android.
from the docs(emphasis mine):The touchscreen can be used in two modes: direct mode and touchpad mode. The default mode is touchpad mode.
When in direct mode, the mouse cursor moves to the touched point on screen. In touchpad mode, the mouse cursor is independent of the touched point, it is moved relative to its current position - like on a touchpad.
The Android version of ScummVM doesn't have an input configuration dialog yet, but as a temporary workaround:
Direct mode can be enabled/disabled using the "Mixed AdLib/MIDI mode" checkbox on the MIDI tab in ScummVM's main options dialog. Restart ScummVM after changing it.

Status: My recent experience with financial websites:
We value your security.
Ok, so what information do I need to log into my account?
A username and a password
Ok, good--
and also we show you this picture of some random object and a phrase you told us previously so that you can be sure we're who we say we are
wait, what?
also you have some security questions which you have to choose from this predefined list of 5 questions where 4 of them don't apply to you and the last one is so obvious that anyone could find out the answer in like 2 seconds of Googling.
how is any of this supposed to improve security?
Ok so do you want to sign up?
I guess I have to. Here's a number that identifies me to the government that I can never change and that can ruin my life if someone else uses it.
Ok, what password do you want?
How about this 63 character password with random ascii printable characters?
THAT PASSWORD IS INVALID BECAUSE IT HAS TOO MANY CHARACTERS
How many characters should it have?
A password should be at least 1 letter and 1 number.
Ok, here's a 50-character password of random ascii printable characters.
Ok, that works. What do you want your security image to be?
These are all pictures of purses and fruit smoothies. Do you have anything related to computers?
We have four pictures of the same typewriter from different angles and one picture of a clothes iron that we'll list under the "computer" section. Also here's a picture of a computer keyboard with only two keys because binary lolol
Ugh, just give me the picture of the folding chair.
ERROR YOUR PASSWORD IS DANGEROUS
What?
YES, LOOK! YOUR PASSWORD ENDS WITH...g@n:v(/hD`!|#?/cx<W1=-nzrBIPBhV)`1
AND THAT'S DANGEROUS
Why didn't you tell me that when I set my account's password to that?
It's only dangerous on the login page.
Riiight. So do you have two-factor authentication?
Two what now?
Oh, forget it.
-
It could be worse. Imagine a two-factor authentication system built on JavaCard.

the same guy who had trouble installing Discourse.
So, we know he's a guy who shoots himself in the foot by not following directions and by using Noscript (although it seems he whitelists a lot of sites, and his complaints are about sites he has whitelisted). Even if he is a , this does seem to me like a legitimate gripe (assuming it's true; I haven't checked myself because I don't care in the least about Twitter):40MB of JavaScript ... for a page dedicated to showing a 140-character message
does seem just a tad excessive.

Apparently, it's been so long that FaceBook things I should update my profile picture and backdrop image (apparently backdrop images came since the last time I visited, mine's blank at the moment).Um, no, my profile picture is, has been, and will always be this one image, no matter how old I am. Thanks!

I got onto Facebook just as I was graduating college (you still needed a .edu I think). My wife bought me a graduation present: a graduation bear in my school's colours.
That's been my photo ever since.

I was planning on keeping the same image for at least 10 years. Then I left my account unattended and my wife was so kind to update it.
And now we only stay together for the kids.
