I will see your Harrier and raise you an F-35B
You have to concede that we're better at naming them though.
-
-
P-51 Mustang
So good, they even made a plane that's just two Mustangs stuck together.
-
I can't believe the Air Force rejected out-of-hand my Quad-Mustang proposal.
-

You're German. Do you really want us to point out all of the wacky aircraft your country made in WWII?
-
The one that would have its ass handed to it by a P-51 Mustang? Now that's a sexy airplane!
This old thing?
Now, let's have another look at the Spit:
Yeah, that's much prettier
-
-
They can't all be hits
But we are good at naming aircraft:
Spitfire
Hurricane
Tornado
Harrier
Typhoon (OK, that's a pan-European plane, but still)
Vulcan
-
-
ISWYDT
Also, who cares? It's a cool name!
-
Lightning?
-
The Lockheed P-38, the Lockheed Martin F-35, or the English Electric/BAC?

Status: had to restart due to an install (corporate approved messaging app) and came back to server cooties. Who's fault was it this time?
-
Possibly @boomzilla, for deleting and restoring posts in /t/likes
-
Well there was talk about the delete button disabling in:
https://what.thedailywtf.com/t/cannot-delete-post/49426And some tweaks to the javascript mucking with the delete buttons, so it could be that doesn't prevent people mucking about in t/1000 but I didn't think there was much deleting there.

The most annoying thing about that is we have the technology to build a much better Concorde, but instead the airliner industry is focussed on turning their planes into the world's largest sardine tins
No one wants to listen to sonic booms.
-
-
Which is why there's not much point in making them.
-
Unless someone's built a city in the middle of the Atlantic, I think it's safe to go supersonic over water ;)
-
That's my point. Extremely limited places where you can fly it. Not worth it.
-
Extremely limited places where you can fly it
70% of the Earth's surface isn't all that limited…Anyway, I'm describing what Concorde did
-
-
Well, it's a lot easier to tell your friends to not connect to your game than to tell every single player that connects to fuck off, especially because kicking someone requires 60% agreement between the players on the server.

We have those things all over in our 30yo codebase, where we mock classes with function arguments!

This appears to be the part of program initialisation where it reads a database system settings table and sets all the options. Part of the length is the seeming inability to be case insensitive, hence lots of repetition like:
case "STTFRNOTPUTAWAY": case "STTfrNotPutaway": Program._STTfrNotPutaway = Convert.ToBoolean( _Reader.GetString( 2 ) ); break;
-
I wish we had a database. I mean, we technically do, but it's the equivalent of csv, and everything is a string when you retrieve it, despite having some kind of type information sometimes, which only applies when data is saved. I mean, at least we have macros. Too bad the compiler has a max file size after macro expansion that it'll compile.
-
Ha! I totally did that in my OMGFWTF2 submission. And I typo'd false as fasle, and instead of fixing the typo I just did
const bool fasle = false
at the top of the file.

British planes and those stupid oval wings. What was with the oval wings?
-
Anyway, I'm describing what Concorde did
Piss off every country and airport in the world, guzzle fuel at a ridiculous rate, then have a fatal crash?
-
Yeah, but fast
-
I'd prefer
-path ./node-modules -prune -o
there. And-exec
over|while read
if I can get away with it, though that may be tricky here.
-
well *something has to be done. thanks to virtualenv a lot more folders have to be ignored now....
find . -not \( \( -path ./node_modules -o -path ./test -o -path ./docs -o -path ./bin -o -path ./include -o -path ./lib -o -path ./local \) -prune \) -name \*.js|while read i; do mkdir -p "docs/api/`dirname $i`";jsdoc2md "$i">"docs/api/`basename "$i" .js`.md"; done
yeah. that is not going to work long term.

Move as many files as possible from the root dir to a sub directory, and switch to whitelisting?
-

i think that's what i'm going to have to do.
either that or give up and break that up into a bash file of its own and call it from package.json

At least you're enjoying their presser; I'm almost unconcious…

He still thinks Boeing is a local company, even though their headquarters are now in Chicago.
Headquarters notwithstanding, that plane was built ~10 miles, or so, from Blakey (and 2 or 3 miles from me), so that makes it a local company.
-
A wild CEO has appeared! CEO used Phone App!
It wasn't very effective.
Player was stunned.

Status: A dark wind howls. The person who decided to use Frog's theme in a Square Enix hype video and then not announce anything in any way related to the series is about to die. Seriously, a Chrono Cross HD on Steam would have made my whole year.

Piss off every country and airport in the world, guzzle fuel at a ridiculous rate, then have a fatal crash?
Really, it wasn't the Concorde's fault -- most (all?) four-engine airliners will run out of rudder authority if they have two engines die/get killed on the same side after V1 on a max weight takeoff...
Filed under: Vmca, man, do you speak it?

The most annoying thing about that is we have the technology to build a much better Concorde, but instead the airliner industry is focussed on turning their planes into the world's largest sardine tins
That, of course, is because approximately[1] nobody wants to pay to fly Concorde these days.
And, to be fair, nobody wants a sonic boom either, so it's hard to find a place you can send one.
[1] that was a key word.
-
70% of the Earth's surface isn't all that limited…
Where you can fly it isn't, for the purposes of discussing sonic booms, as important as where you can land it. There's probably approximately nowhere on the northern half of the Eastern US coast you could fly over.
