I'm glad you're still managing to keep us informed during Armageddon.
-
If I'm about to die I might as well come as close to the old "house on fire afk" messages (that are allegedly real and appear on IRC) as possible.
And finish my coffee. That's important too.

Looking at the current satellite imagery on a weather channel, it seems as if you would be experiencing some thunderstorms right now... of the "orange" quality.

Some clouds and a little sun. Time to turn the AC up.
-
Okay, that's a legitimate Armageddon scenario.
Definitely. Although we are still 660 posts shy of 666 in this thread.

of the "orange" quality.
Well, all I see is black.
At least it will be colour-coordinated if orange appears though.

Yes, B*****m is on the good-weather-side of that diagonal line dividing Europe as well.

I hadn't noticed. Time for ice cream!

Just checked. "orange" for thunderstorms indicates "extreme" and there is nothing worse than that, like "red" or "purple".

Status: Slightly chilled after my motorcycle ride to work. I thought July was supposed to be hot? It's 55 degrees out...
-
It's worse than a red alert, but not as bad as a blue alert.

I didn't know weather was that ... bubbly ...

-
Status: befuddled at a fact that apparently my company deems it acceptable to send me half my paycheck because biweekly work report ends tomorrow, and I'm only paid since 1st of July.

Just picked up the bot.menu domain name for about 30 bucks, pretty happy about this. More expensive than my usual domains, but significantly shorter as well.

Well, vodka code is obviously faster! You don't have to worry about all that pesky iteration!

Current status: thinking about taking a vanilla porter, and adding chocolate ice cream and strawberry slices to make a neapolitan float.

Current status: annoyed that the weather here will be in the low 80s and mildly humid for the next week or so. This isn't the weather that I paid for.

Upgraded from NGINX 1.4.x to 1.6, config for set up sites was wiped (the folder was evaporated)
Significantly annoyed at having to redo about a full days worth of configuration. (Though I'm estimating hours rather than day now)

Current status: dealing with crap like this:
Error Message: Redirect URI cannot contain newline characters.
Seriously:
httpResponse.Redirect("Error.aspx?Msg=" + ex.Message);
-
Current status: wrapping my head around this:
Convert.ToDateTime(System.DateTime.Now).ToString("yyyyMMdd")
-
Because it's so dumb, or because it's so trivially dumb?
-
Because it reminds me of String.ToString().
-
-
Is that not common practice to floor to the day you're on?
The point is that the
Convert.ToDateTime
is completely unnecessary.DateTime.Now
gives the current system time - as aDateTime
- with a 10 or 55 millisecond resolution, depending on your OS. The rest is just converting to a string with a desired format.
-
Wouldn't that be
Convert.ToDateTime(System.dateTime.Now.ToString("yyyyMMdd"))
?
-
No, that would be
System.DateTime.Today
-
I'd have to
assumehope that the code originally didn't take aDateTime
object, but was later just changed to use the current day.
