I only recently beat that game and didn't save her. I expected that it wouldn't let me. Maybe I need to try again...
-
(bloody hard on nonlethal)
It's a lot of fun though, if you're prepared. On a blind first run you might find yourself short on energy bars or without a emp for the robots and have to resort to killing a couple. They deserve it anyway. I missed that achievement.I expected that it wouldn't let me.
I had to replay it a couple times on my first run to figure out a path that was quick enough.
-
I almost never use energy bars in that game. That section is the only one where I use multiple energy in a row, and I get the battery extensions just for that section.
-
The main issue with going non-lethal is that it means you can't use the revolver.

You do see Adam Sandler RIGHT THERE, don't you?
-
yes i do. but pacman, eating cars and blowing shit up. that really makes up for it
EDIT: he looks a lot older than i remember...
-
that looks ridiculous enough to be worth watching.
-
This can only be good.

Well, Pacman is already 35 years old, but I expect they'll use CG to cover it up.

Just as a quick check, what's the last Adam Sandler movie you saw?
-
Click, and actually it was ok.

Click, and actually it was ok.
Of course it was, just like I said whenever it came up last time.
Adult Adam Sandler is funnier than he deserves, to the point where he shouldn't be considered a solid "don't watch this" indicator. Having said that I'll wait until Rotten Tomatoes scores the movie before I see it.

There's one in Deus Ex: Human Revolution where you're not allowed to kill anyone. Oops, not allow any corpses to come into existence. Which leads to having to let your pilot die in her chopper at one point in the game, because that doesn't count, and if you manage to save here (bloody hard on nonlethal) she kills a bunch of guys with a missile a couple of missions later who do count.
Reminds me of Delta Force 2, there was a mission that as far as I could tell was impossible to beat unless you killed your AI teammates at the start. You were supposed to enter an oil refinery, wipe out the terrorists, and defuse a bomb. However, your teammates will shoot at the enemy and miss, hitting the refinery tanks which then explode and cause instant mission failure.

Is there something so hard about putting out a PCN saying "hey, we need to discontinue this model of widget soon?" You'd think that'd be the least some manufacturer could do...
I feel left out of society due to the fact that I cannot bring myself to give a fuck about Twitter.
Twitter's sort-of-useful for organizations (think "micro press release"), but really doesn't make sense for individuals. I personally give it 1 fruit fly's foot (over Facebook which gets -1)It's probably not. TI calculators use a variant of Basic, so while there may be applications that handle fractions, you won't get them by just doing math. I vote for calculators that run Lisp. Considering the typical TI-84 costs more than a low-end Lumia, it wouldn't be very difficult.
The TI-83 can't, and I don't think the TI-86 can either -- but the TI-89's mini-CAS most definitely can. However, your teammates will shoot at the enemy and miss, hitting the refinery tanks which then explode and cause instant mission failure.
What are they loading? Tracers? Incendiary rounds?

I think the short film will still be better.

Cinema™ brand bullets.(May I recommend not buying cars made by that company?)
-
What are they loading? Tracers? Incendiary rounds?
In the real world, M4-style rifles are often illegal for hunting (for deer anyways) because they aren't powerful enough to ensure a quick, clean kill. In the video game world, a single round from an M4 will destroy entire oil rigs!
VIDEO GAME LOGICZ R MAKE MUCH SENSE. WOW SUCH M4, MANY POWERFUL
-
Well, it is a world where a single 9mm round will destroy an SUV in a huge fireball.
Which is impossible in real life, even with 50cal tracer rounds.
-
I'd like to see a Michael Bay-directed movie about Stormtroopers and Star Trek redshirts getting into an Airsoft battle.
-
The trailer:
FWJJJJJJJJJJJJJ
-
TK-421 rounds the corner, his Airsoft carbine at the ready. 20 yards ahead he sees Enterprise security personnel dressed in their typical red-shirted uniform.
"This is TK-421, I have eyes on hostile targets."
"Copy that, TK-421. You are cleared to engage."
TK-421 aims and squeezes the trigger, letting off a short burst of 6mm plastic pellets. They miss entirely, flying right past the redshirt. However, the airflow from the pellets upsets the gel pack in a nearby plasma conduit, which explodes and instantly incinerates the redshirt.
"Target eliminated," the stormtrooper announces into his helmet comm, conveniently leaving off the fact that he missed and the redshirt's death was pure dumb luck.
The plasma explosion's shockwave pushes on the pellets, increasing their velocity exponentially. They travel outside the zone of combat, orbit the Earth several times, picking up velocity with each pass due to the slingshot effect. Eventually they transwarp into the past and land in the Gulf of Mexico, causing a massive explosion that kills all the dinosaurs.
It's a good thing TK-421 was using 0.2g pellets and not the heavier 0.4g. Those would have destroyed the Earth so brilliantly and efficiently that Grand Moff Tarkin would be left drooling in awe and envy.
"Excellent work, TK-421. Return to base. We'll have a glass of blue milk ready for you."

Click, and actually it was ok.
I thought Click was awful. They chose literally the least interesting thing you could do with a magic remote control and made a stupid little son story about how you shouldn't fast forward through life. Why not rewind and try again?
-
The first half of the movie could have cut some of the lamer gags. (Do we really need to see Adam Sandler hit pause and fart on his boss?) But I thought the last half was decently touching, all considered.
I mean, it's a "it was all a dream" ending, too, but in this case you don't really mind because that's part of the moral. (It's a Wonderful Life had a "it was all a dream ending", too.)
-
I tripped over a sidewalk like a spaz
Hey, at least you didn't break your leg, like our erstwhile secretary of state.
Over the weekend someone pointed out there's apparently no video of this, which is unusual--even the president of Turkmenistan[1], when he got dumped off a horse at the finish line of a race, couldn't keep that footage from going public, and they searched people's phones.
[1] Apparently Chrome objects to my not spelling that with a capital T.
-
because they aren't powerful enough to ensure a quick, clean kill.
Really? I heard it was because they'll fly for miles and inevitably hit a kidnergarten classroom.
-
-
Why not rewind and try again?
...because that's not actually an option IRL. Except, of course, that they deus ex machina'd out of it.

What were you looking at at the time?
The company website.
I was trying to get to an obscure page that's not normally available, but is supposed to be available internally via a particular URL. Only the URL seems to be outdated, assuming it ever worked at all, and redirects to the homepage.
I only get that peculiar response when I try it in Chrome from a new tab, though. It doesn't seem to be anything to do with the actual issue at hand, just an oddity - it's something about notifications from google plus. Which when I try to load directly is blocked by work internet, but I deliberately tried to go to a blocked page just now I don't get 200 forbidden or anything like it.

Edit Scratch that, it was just the mongodb codebase that I used as a testcase that was pulling antics on me.

Presumably because they think you're too stupid to go see the movie without getting some big reveals up front.
I'm a bit disappointed Damon's in it, though, because I'd rather not give him any of my money if I can avoid it.
