I like the older stuff (which combines directly with normal 2x4 bricks) better than the new stuff. Seems to have stronger beams too.
For clarity, old:

Get that curved stuff off my lawn! Real Lego should be painful when you step on it in the dark!
-
Actually, I think that second pic is some of the special Technic pieces; they still make the old-style pieces, so you can use Technic with normal Lego
-
It's a bad shot for the new stuff: A couple of the pieces shown in that pic are older. The big ones along the left edge are the new beams though - some recent sets I bought don't have pieces from the top image at all.
-
Any of those bits with circles in them still snap to normal lego pieces afaik.
-
Yes indeed.

I'll be off to the evil ideas thread now …

Good for you.
It's evil beyond evil.

The only worse thing might be if you did that with a D4...

Great now I'm spending time trying to think of a good way to set that up, thanks.

Works here.

Nope
I blame you then. I've got evidence that at least three other
peopleentities can see it.

you shouldn't go calling the locals "people" someone might get triggered
<i wonder if this makes sense
-
Better? :P
-
you shouldn't go calling the locals "people" someone might get triggered
you shouldn't go calling the women "locals" someone might get triggered
Though they still might, if you are male when you say "women", since that's probably also vulgar
-
that's silly. everybody knows that there is no women on the internet
-
That isn't the point, if the point is to use a non-offensive word. Not that such a thing exists to the sort of person who gets offended so easily. The least offensive word seems to be woman, and only if the person saying it is female.
Unless one of the people listening is trans.
How about 'individual'?

How about 'individual'?
Entity seems better, in case one of the users is:
- An AI.
- A group of individuals.
- A being from another planet, composed of a group consciousness, with sexual characteristics which do not easily conform to our earthly languages.

Personally, I'm fine with "bastard", "that guy" and "who the hell are you, GTFO".
YMMV, of course.

Bastard entity. :)

Can do. These are in the order of familiarity BTW.

Well, yes, of course. What, you expected a bastard to be straightforward?

Afterwards, Boss comes up to me: "by the way, do we do [feature which was never discussed, will take several hours of implementation discussion and coding]?"
"Um, no. Do we need it for go live?"

General election in the UK today, and as a slightly gimmicky "go out and vote" message, E4, one of the larger TV channels, has shut down for the day.
Cue Facebook being full of "what about those of us who couldn't give a flying fuck about the election? Where are we supposed to get our TOWIE fix?" posts.
As an aside, do people spell that badly intentionally? Is it really that much faster to type "ppl" rather than "people"? Especially on a phone where you'll have to teach it the misspellings

Hangover from the days of SMS before predictive text, most likely
And to anyone who says
what about those of us who couldn't give a flying fuck about the election?
Then don't fucking moan when you don't like who's been elected - you had your opportunity, and you chose to be a lazy fuck instead
-
Fuck them?
Pretty much. Might bookmark some comments and post them in response to the inevitable complaints in a few months about roads or schools or anything they could have had a say in.

I don't. Does that make it ok for me to complain about shit like that then?
FTR: Not lazy, just lost faith in any party around here, they keep swapping places every 4 years and do the same kind of shit anyway. I slightly prefer the current leading party / coalition on ideological grounds, but I don't see any other benefit to either of them.
-
Do you vote? If so, moan away! If not, why not? Voting may not change a damn thing, but at least you tried! ;)
