Do you vote? If so, moan away! If not, why not? Voting may not change a damn thing, but at least you tried!
You misunderstood. I moan about pervasiveness of campaign ads, media getting clogged by elections and nothing else and millions being spent on all that crap when they could've been spent on something more important than fucking billboards.
I see voting and moaning about who got elected as a separate issue.

gifts @Onyx a soapbox cleaning kit
Really? You think I don't have one already?
Also, I think I have at least a tiny bit of right to do that, especially after this shit:
Fucking idiots. On all fronts.
-
Really? You think I don't have one already?
Then you can save my gifted one for when it runs out or something ;)
-
Then don't fucking moan when you don't like who's been elected
If they do, it's only because that's what they hear the other cool kids saying. They probably have no awareness either way.

Status: Wondering just how company network is set up now as I'm in Kentucky and google thinks I'm in India (new tab in chrome and default searching) but it used to at least assume I was in the US.

Status:
Rest assured, it's not important; I mean, we're only electing the entire UK Parliament today…

Got any Polish software, too?
-
STATUS: So after months of dealing with a designer who has no idea about web apps, backend contractors who are not interested in design and frontend people who are busy on other projects, this is what it came down to:
(Yes, that's Corel Draw. I'm old school.)
So, now I'm supposed to do the detailed UI design docs and then give them to the idiot designer, who will then shit out PSD-s that we can have the client sign off on and then give to contracted frontend people, who will cooperate with the backend people, and ....
Sigh...
Why can't I just make the damn thing, instead of having to deal with a 100 different special little snowflake specialists? I hate management.
-
Got any Polish software, too?
We're not that advanced; all our elections are done with pen-and-paper, and counted by hoomans
-
Here in Washington State (at lest some counties), we vote-by-mail. Much better.
-
Fucking idiots. On all fronts.
Aren't they going to have to can that anyway when they become EU members?
-
Much better.
Right, because who needs to validate that the people voting are both who they say they are, and eligible to vote?
One smart thing we gave the Iraqis--and it's insane we don't adopt it for ourselves--is you vote, prove who you are and that you are eligible to vote and that you haven't already voted somewhere else, and then you get your finger dipped in purple ink to make sure you don't go vote again.
-
Is that a bonus grammar error, or is "missed off" something British people actually say?
-
It's a genuine phrase
-
Right, because who needs to validate that the people voting are both who they say they are, and eligible to vote?
They do it by signature matching, which is admittedly kind of a WTF. You still have to register, of course.

And absentee voters are just fucked?
It's a genuine phrase
"Genuine" meaning, "really stupid sounding and nonsensical". "MIssed off". Why is the word "off" there? They missed a name. There's no off. Off what?

A: That's racist against Mexicans!
B: It's pretty bad for people who do things illegally.
A: But Mexicans are the most affected!
B: Then they should stop doing illegal things?
A: RACIST!

Cue Facebook being full of "what about those of us who couldn't give a flying fuck about the election? Where are we supposed to get our TOWIE fix?"
ITV - where TOWIE is every other day of the year.

I vote. May I moan about the UK election?

Hmm… a grey area…Eh, why not? Free speech and all that ;)
-
Poor soul. Can't you at least give him a chair? ... Or a seat.
-
Aren't they going to have to can that anyway when they become EU members?
We are EU members.
No, I don't fucking understand it either. Besides, the current government did push for, and succeed in making some progress, towards civil partnership (be it samesex or not) being pretty much on the level with marriage. I think that the only major difference is adoption rights. And all that was done after that referendum.
It was pretty much a political circlejerk of current opposition and their followers, IMHO. That cost us dearly.

We are EU members.
Oh. The Google blurb for this URL says "Croatia preparations to enter the EU" but the actual page says you entered in 2013. So good job Google.
Does the EU have zero marriage equality legislation at all? I kind of assumed it did, (or that this would fall under it's declaration of universal human rights) but maybe I'm being the idiot.
-
So are ours - the software is only there for pretty printing and aggregating votes at a national level. The ballots are counted by hand.
As for voting - no, people who have no fucking clue about how a country works should not vote. The problem is that, as always, those who think that they do, don't, and vice versa.
-
Status: WHY DO I HAVE A 4 GB RECYCLE BIN ON MY USB FLASH DRIVE!!!!????!?!???!??!???
Because:
- Your Flash drive is bigger than 40 GB (at least I think the recycle bin default is still 10%...?)
- You haven't emptied it yet
-
Status: just figured out that if i don't call a function it does nothing. all by myself!
-sigh- i need caffeine.
-
2) You haven't emptied it yet
It was hidden, I only found it when running WinDirStat to see what the heck was clogging up my drive.
-
And absentee voters are just fucked?
I dunno. Maybe absentee voters can get a pass. It's not my job to fix busted systems but I can certainly point out obvious fuckups.
How good is your state at stopping registration fraud? How hard is it for an illegal alien to register to vote?
-
I just found a Windows NT folder on it too. It has HyperTerminal, pinball, and wordpad in it.
-
Off the list of candidates, of course!
Shouldn't it have said "one of the candidates' names was left off the list" ?
-
ITV - where TOWIE is every other day of the year.
I don't fucking know. I've maybe watched 30 seconds of it total, from times when it was on when the TV was switched on and it takes time to bring up the EPG.
Hollyoaks? Is that a channel 4 thing?
Here in Washington State (at lest some counties), we vote-by-mail. Much better.
We can register to vote by post, but the polling station was literally on my way to work, so meh
-
But Mexicans are the most affected!
Mexicans can go vote in Mexico. Further, they can do that as many times as they want, for all I care. I'm only concerned with letting US Americans vote.
-
Shouldn't it have said "one of the candidates' names was left off the list" ?
Maybe; both are considered correct
-
Status: WHY DO I HAVE A 4 GB RECYCLE BIN ON MY USB FLASH DRIVE
Do a quick check and see if you're a dumbass. If you are, that would explain it.
-
Here in Washington State (at lest some counties), we vote-by-mail. Much better.
We have that too, although it's opt-in; you have to specify you want to postal vote when registering on the electoral roll.Should be the default really.
-
I consider 'Mexicans are most affected' to be far more racist than assuming they aren't. It means that you are saying that they are criminals because of their race. It always seems funny to me that the people who try to 'protect their rights' say it.
-
both are considered correct
Not in the US.
Oh, I know, separated by a common language. But you people abuse your language in some pretty fucking weird ways.
-
I consider 'Mexicans are most affected' to be far more racist than assuming they aren't.
Not only that, but won't someone think of the illegal Guatemalans and Hondurans and so on? They aren't even on the radar of this kind of paternalistic racism!
-
-
It was hidden,
Duh?
Are you brand new to computers? I fully admit the way the recycle bin works with removable drives is kind of confusing, but it's not like anything's changed since Windows 95. Is this another TimePod incident?
How good is your state at stopping registration fraud? How hard is it for an illegal alien to register to vote?
I have no idea.
Maybe; both are considered correct
.... by mush-mouth British idiots.
And you don't?

That's wrong in US English too, that doesn't count.
