Status: A client's database appears to have lost a shitload of useful UDFs and views, including at least one that my software relies on. I'm connected to SSMS as the database owner's login and they're still not there, which would appear to rule out permissions problems. I have no idea how they managed to lose them between initial testing last week and what was meant to be full UAT this week

Turns out she's allergic to rubber1 but not acrylic.
Not terribly surprising; lots of people are allergic to latex1, but synthetic acrylic doesn't have the nasty bits of allergenic proteins floating about.
1
And , but that's a different sort of problem.
Another discourse bug: I tried spoiler the joke in the footnote. I enclosed the entire footnote, except the superscript in

. Discourse made a new paragraph, and spoiled only the image, not the text. @discoursebot At least in the preview. I wonder what will happen when it's baked...

I think you accidentally spelled that right,
Well now. I guess my brain resists spelling stuff wrong.
But seriously, I was trying to figure out if "cotnext" was some kind of SCAdian term or something.

allergic to "sticky stuff"1 (her words),
That's actually not much fun. My wife's allergic to the adhesive in regular bandages, and if she has one on her for too long, her skin gets really irritated. Kudos for working with this user.

Discourse can't even bake 's right

Actually it's baking the post correctly, but something is wrong with the css.
.topic-body sup sup makes top be 0, cancelling out the rising sup.

It might help if i could actually follow the lyrics i guess? nice tune tho.

I started the video where they say "Get up". I probably should have looked for a shorter clip but I'm lazy.

Just some JSON and templates. Any module JS should already be loaded by that point, but even if not it just loads a few small scripts, no libraries, let alone jQuery.
Test it. Right after you load select2 for the first time:
window.oldJquery = $;
Place a breakpoint inside that catch block. Then, in console:
$ === window.oldJquery;

Status: a client complains that a half-gigabyte HTML file masquerading as .xls doesn't always load properly.
I'm fairly amused it does work occasionally.

Place a breakpoint inside that catch block. Then, in console
Oh, right, now the breakpoints should work.
catch
gets triggered, at least. Because they just didn't trigger before. How? Why? No idea.

I will not rage about you intentionally ignoring my disclaimer in that post.
Also, it works if you expand the quote.

No, the minimum character warning should die bleeding in a hole.

@abarker said:
What does the mobile network related work there?
Strangely... the modem. The network still has the basic concept of a SIM however - it just cannot be physically removed from the rest of the modem.
It's actually possible to modify a CDMA phone by fitting a SIM onto it, for some models at least. Case in point: my current Motorola Photon Q (and my previous one) has a SIM.

Status: 6 weeks ago when we started this feature push, our estimates were in the red. We communicated this up the management chain. The scope wasn't reduced.
Every sprint since, the estimate has still been in the red by almost a full sprint. Every sprint we communicated this up the management chain. The scope wasn't reduced.
Now I learn the other back-end developer on this feature has been pulled-off to work on something "higher priority". Now we're in the red by at least a full sprint, which means even if QA could QA the feature in -1 days, we'd still be unable to ship by the date promised the customer. What are the odds the scope will be reduced?
Even worse, the front-end guy in charge of this feature is leaving on the 15th, and he won't be available to do integration at all.
It's not like there's been scope creep or anything. In fact, our estimates have been pretty much exactly on-the-dot. There's just nobody ACTUALLY LISTENING. Very frustrating.

You got it better than me. It drove me to post in a meta.d bug that's over a year old:

Do you eat them? Charbroiled hedgehog has to be better than the rotten, fermenting fish you bastards usually eat. ;-)
