Doesn't sound like it. My colleague doesn't appear to have had VPN set up to begin with. @Onyx seems to have got at least that far...
-
I got it working ages ago. Wrong MPPE settings. Someone was probably messing with something or other since I set it up initially, because it used to work with the settings I had.

Just got an alert there are moderator elections being held on Stack Overflow.
I go to the page (instant-badge!) and check out the candidates. Click on the first guy's activity page. His latest comment:
@SecondRikudo: Rest assured that I am 100% emu, and 0% ostrich. You should also be relieved to know that since I eat only inspects and plants, no other birds should be hurt should I become moderator... ;).
Oookaaay....

I voted for a bunch of people hoping for another badge. No luck :-(
Hmm, I wonder if I'll get a pellet for downvotes...

For SCIENCE!
Now all you need is to point an IP-cam to your hot drink container and set up a live stream.
Watching raisins inflate, it's the watching paint dry of the 21st century
-
Well I accidentally mashed one of the raisins pulling it out with a spoon to check on its progress (turns out they get really squoodgy and fragile), so I ate it. Then I got bored with the exercise and ate the other too.

Status: I have been in the process of rebranding a product to spin off in to a new LLC. Mostly pretty mundane stuff. Changing names of EXEs and dlls, changing install paths, etc. Changing all of the logic code that handles the update process was a real pain.
Yesterday, I ran in to an issue where the NSIS installer would just crap out on me. It still installed, but did not start processes so it required a reboot. Debugging NSIS scripts has always been a pain in the ass for me. Then I found this little spot where I missed something:
${If} ${RunningX64} ExecWait '"$INSTDIR\KillProc.exe" Old_client_name.exe' ${EndIf}
So yeah, I missed one reference to the old file name in the NSIS script. Now it seems to be working fine. Now, on to the rest of the long ass list of stuff to get done.
And yes, I realize that I should have Ctrl + F it. These are the things you miss when you have a head cold.

dropped a couple of raisins into my hot drink.
Did you decide that you liked it when you did that on accident a while back?
-
Not really. But someone asked if it was a grape again afterwards and gave me the idea of trying.
Also, if you leave a raisin in hot liquid for a little while it gets plumper and juicier. If you leave it in for a long time it goes mushy and disgusting.

. If you leave it in for a long time it goes mushy and disgusting.
What, even more so?

Verizon's DNS became ucked sometime between 6-7am EDT. Switched to google and life is much happier.

We need some kind od oneboxage for this. I'm buttuming adding it to whitelist is going to be a bigger problem than making it work, though.
-
the onebox whitelist isn't local?
-
the onebox whitelist isn't local?
It is, but I have no idea what rights are needed to change it. I'd hope it's in the admin panel but...
-
My manager accesses the network via our remote Citrix stuff when he's at home, despite having a corporate laptop which comes with the VPN configured by default because he says "the VPN is too much work to set up".
All it needs is your username and the magic code from the RSA token - and it only asks the username the first time.
The Citrix solution needs username, password and the code from the RSA token. Every time.
-
@PJH can add sites to the onebox whitelist.

Status: Sun was out so 3 of us went out and bought a picnic table for the seat-free outdoor/smoking area (so for the benefit of our other colleagues and everyone else in this office - which 0 of the 3 of us work out of normally) and 2 of us sacked off work for a bit assembling it.
Our other colleagues wouldn't even walk 5 mins to get us ice creams because they had work to do. That's real fucking team spirit there.

Google translate is good, but it often makes a mistake or two.
For example, I entered japanese text, and it detected it as javanese. So close!

I think it looks for something particular to see anything, though:

Why does it matter if he uses Citrix or VPN?

eyah there's implementation we need to do to make it work.
i'll add it to the list

and suddenly:if( acualGenericNode.getClass().getSimpleName().equals("iteratorNode") ) { (...) } else if (acualGenericNode.getClass().getSimpleName().equals("conditionalNode")) { (...) }else if("more getClass ...") (...)
(the typo is in the original code)
someone actually got a SE title with this code. and i'm already commited to make this thing able to run on simulations on a cluster. this is gonna be a looooong year

His logic is that the VPN is too much work to "setup" when it's already setup and actually the easier of the two to use.
Also (I've just been reminded of this so INB4 telepathy) there have been at least two instances of him not being able to do any work other than reply to emails on his phone because Citrix has been unavailable and he's refused to use the VPN.
