I really need to stop arguing with @blakeyrat and go home.

Would BML be stronger or less strong than FML?
Yes, Business Mortgage Loan is stronger or less strong than Full Maintenance Lease.

Is that young Boba Fett in the onebox preview?
-
Before looking up the YouTube version to post here, I'd only heard it on the radio.
So... sure why not.

It's doughnut Friday! Darjeeling tea and apple fritter.

Water spirits or grain spirits?

Just use firebug to alter the topic title locally to something work-related.

You could always argue that the setup is a security risk (that's my plan, if I end up in a cube when we move our office next month).
-
Water spirits or grain spirits?
The view is clear and unsullied...
At least until the diet cola goes in.

people sitting behind me or walking down the hall will be able to see my screen.
From the picture you posted, that appeared to already be the case. No?

Status: Off to address the beer deficit situation.

Obviously no, or I wouldn't have bother posting about moving.
-
Status: Checking out and building an old version of our product so I can see how it packages things and make sure the new version does it right. Yay for not having any official package spec! (yet) And for build processes that take 2 - 3 hours to run.

Waiting for happy hour to start.

Happy hour awaits. Maybe see you guys later tonight. Maybe not.

So, after six months of pushing, I finally got approval to purchase Visual Studio licenses for our team. The order got submitted today, now to wait for it to be processed.
Up next: converting our main project (~550MB of code files) from .NET 3.5 to .NET 4.5 so that we can actually begin to implement the 3 new features that the COO has been waiting 8 months to see.

Status: Attempting to upgrade my LAMP server to Ubuntu Server 14.04, get everything updated, and install Redmine as a community issue tracker.
I'm very thankful for ESXi's snapshot feature. It's a huge "undo" button for upgrade issues of all kinds, especially the dreaded "Oh crap I did -a instead of -A on the CLI and now my Linux is a slavemaster for a Russian botnet when all I wanted to do was install ruby!"

Status: Feeling a little dirty for writing code with a comment like this (but at least I commented it):
// This isn't really right, but there is only one situation this project to which
// it applies, and it is right in that one case. Why are the two lines not indented the same in the preview window? Discourse.
<code>//
results in the line being indented, but
<code>
//
results in being flush left. Um, ok...

Happy hour was a success. Time for bed now.
-
It begins again
-
Here was me thinking it was intentional to keep the diagonal lines aligned nicely with each other (rather than vertically)
Or is it just me that's done that?

Coming to the startling realization* that saving files before compiling them produces better results than trying to compile them without saving.

Wondering why it will be in the 80s and 90s in paradise for the next two weeks.

No, it'll be 2014 for the next few weeks.

Status: Feeling a little dirty for writing code with a comment like this...
Reminds me of a time when I left this comment in our codebase:"Very bad hack, but works for now. Todo: proper fix. @<insert_name_of_our_apprentice>: never do something like this!"

Sucks, don't it?
Status: time to do the Wii Fit thing again, I guess, I've been putting it off long enough today.
-
Well it sucks yes, but less than the alternative.
and since we have a gym in building i can take my tablet to the gym and get my work out done while keeping an eye on the updates.
so it's not as bad as it could be.
-
That sounds reasonable, actually. I could work with that.
