This shit works on integration but won't work on my local environment. I have to do a full deployment after every change to see my code run.
The mystery has been solved:
There's a configuration file that's supposed to go from XML to a package to the JCR to the OSGi configuration. The filename was supposed to match the class name, but it was in the wrong namespace, so it didn't work. It does work on the integration environment because OSGi config was manually set up there.
And remains AEM.
You're giving me hives.

Well that's why you want to make sure your service deployment packages include all the trimmins'. Fucking goddamn atrocity.

Now I remember why I used to work on so many hobby projects: work in the office is boring.
-
Status One reason I hate going into the office (other than noise and crowding and not having my comfortable setup and commute) is that I have a distressing tendency to leave things like chargers in the wrong spot. In this case, at work. So I'm setting up a workable work environment on my home PC and will use what little battery I have on my work laptop for any necessary meetings (because no camera on work PC). I've ordered a spare charger so I'll be able to have one in my bag and one consistently at home.
Secondary status: At least most of our stuff is in docker, which doesn't care (as much) about running on a windows host vs mac host. Can't do any iOS tickets...but then again, I'm totally blocked on new work (because all the tickets are also blocked by things other people are doing).

Yup. Thank heavens for small mercies.

That is a very recommended approach if you are commuting at all. Did it for years. (Not so relevant since I started working full time from home for... well, you know.)

My issued charger for my lap issued laptop is actually in my truck. At the desk the dock is what keeps it charged.

My dock uses the charger as the power input. I do need to (and forgot to when I ordered a new charger) to get a smaller, more portable dock to carry to work (so I can plug in extra monitors and such, since the macbooks only have USB-C ports). Because the dock I have is...large. Has a crap-ton of ports, which is nice, but it's annoying to port around.

..... I would not assume a device carrying the moniker of "dock" was meant to be portable....

It's...more of an enlarged dongle. Roughly a foot long by 3-5" wide by an inch thick. And yes, this is all

That sounds like a normal-size dongle, depending where you're fishing. But yeah, probably the bait. Try a spinner, maybe you can get an enlarged one.

Status; accidentally avoided a fire drill. Which is unfortunate as it would have been a great excuse as to why I was six minutes late sending out a report.
Instead, I blamed it on accidentally triple-booking the morning while backfilling for another person.

Status: Watched "I, Mudd" yesterday and thought the exchange between Spock and two of the androids was hilarious.
Spock (to one): I love you.
Spock (to other): However, I hate you.
Android: But we're identical.
Spock: Of course. That is why I hate you.
::androids freeze up::The bizarre stuff the rest of the crew did was was funny too but Nimoy's deadpan delivery put this exchange over the top.

Tangential Status: Got a severe headache. The one that basically comes from having the posture of a fucking slob, staring at screens all day, and fucking up your neck in the process. Besides the headache it also makes me feel sick, almost like having to throw up, but not really.
Apparently, my body has by now associated this feeling with being hung-the-fuck-over, so I got the usual thoughts of "I'm not going to drink ever again." Which, of course, is a lie and never happens, but it's weird that I didn't even drink anything.Anyways, back to the point. Will be going to a Hallowe'en party tomorrow and meet with some friends. Which is a good thing, except for a few occassions a year I don't actually have many social interactions at all. Plan has been that we go by train, so I can actually have a few drinks and not have to drive. But now I feel that, given this situation, social pressure will actually make it so that I will have to have at least a few drinks (or quite a bit more). Which, right now, my body is telling me: don't you fucking dare.
Guess I'm already pre-hung-over. Fuck, I'm
gettingold.

Status: you know how some people practice Inbox Zero?
I've deleted a few emails from my inbox and it's now at fewer than 4000 unread emails.
I might have skipped reading one or three hundred LinkedIn emails...

Inbox Zero
Not sure if that means zero mails or zero unread mails.
I've deleted a few emails from my inbox and it's now at fewer than 4000 unread emails.
It's a forum meme here to laugh at tab hoarders, which I have to admit I'm one. But I can't understand people who have hundreds or thousands of unread emails. Or people whose phone screen shows every app with 3 digit notification numbers. That'd make me go crazy.
An unread email, for me, signals it's something that I still need to handle. Still on my to-do list. I sometimes even mark emails as "unread" if it contains something that I will have to do later. (Today or tomorrow, if I postpone it longer than that it gets "marked" or whatever that's called.)
However, I don't delete emails unless they're spam or similar things not addressed to me.

Yeah, I use my inbox as a todo list too. Everything goes to spam by default. I have at least six accounts now for various reasons. I'm slowly paring it down three and a Gmail for recruiters and other spammy stuff like new concert updates.

It's mostly emails with jokes from family members or newsletters which I do read eventually if I'm bored. Might take years to read them, but eventually I do.
It's just that lately I haven't had the time.
