STATUS
The stopgap pc I put together about 18 months ago has died. I think it's the power supply or mainboard. Not too cut up about it. It was hacked together from second-hand parts and only supposed to last until October last year when I would upgrade it for the goodies on offer then. That never materialised. I'll have a poke around the local computer shop to see if they have a power supply. If it resuscitates it, happy days otherwise I'll wait to see what AMD's next offering is.

Apart from the difficulty of figuring out exactly what was fucking up in the first place (in what's now damn close to production, so of course it is awkward to debug) it was pretty easy going.

A girl I used to date used the former as a euphemism for the latter, to explain to her family what was in the packages that kept arriving to her house.

Do you keep the Windows update page in the Settings App open? Then yes, if it's not crashing things get weird pretty quick.

That's easy enough to fix. A good place to start would be making color swatches as the colors won't exactly match what's on the label.

Status: See, this is why I hate hipster frameworks.
I'm trying to remove a checkbox from a page. I figured out enough to remove the checkbox. But the form calls a function in JavaScript that I can only actually find in C#. In C#, the function header is not in the same order as the form elements. I cannot tell if I need to ignore the parameter from the deleted checkbox or remove it from the header because I can't find the step between that form and that function. Every single thing is split up into a hundred little files with no clear connection between any of them except "oh, yeah, they're all related somehow." Like somehow I'm supposed to know an action called "Revoke" everywhere is actually connected to a controller called "RevokeController" just because.

Apart from the difficulty of figuring out exactly what was fucking up in the first place (in what's now damn close to production, so of course it is awkward to debug) it was pretty easy going.
And of course part of the service didn't work. Because it was insisting on ignoring one of the reverse proxy headers and configuring the URL builders to use
http:
instead ofhttps:
. But it's now fixed; my service has had its upgrade into its production location. (Next, I need to revalidate the hardware it is controlling — I think there's been some config changes on that side of things — and start chasing down OpenID support properly, which was blocked until I had the service on port 443.)Also, why is there always someone who insists on telephoning you exactly when you're reaching the point of understanding the problem you're working on? That's three times today it's happened…

I don't mind eating it midday, but I'm not likely to start early enough to have it cooked by then.)
