Well, in that simulation, it's the only thing that's using a loop.
But there's the "drawing the curve" part. Have you timed it? It may be where the bottleneck is, as opposed to the computations themselves.
Well, turns out, both. Didn't time it but simply went by CPU load.
Precalculating the sine values halved the load. Going from a "1 pixel" to "2 pixel" accuracy halved it again. At 10 it's way down and at 20 steps it's negligible.
10 seems to be the sweet spot between getting a curve with discernible edges and computation speed. But the lookup table definitely helped.

It's past 5 now, so it's too late to start working anyway, right? Right?!

Status: Left a car at a mechanic this morning to fix broken headlights (they weren't physically broken, they just didn't work.) They told me it's going to be fixed the same day. And indeed, a few hours later it's fixed, so I go to pick it up. But it turns they only fixed the low beams and one high beam still doesn't work, and one low beam is suspiciously dim too. They apologized and got back to fixing it, and told me they'll call when it's done for real. And they called again, and I went to pick it up again and this time all lights are good.
So everything's good, but still. They called me to tell me the lights are fixed, without actually checking whether the lights are fixed. Just how retarded they have to be to fuck this up!?
I think I'd be much more pissed off if the shop wasn't just a 5 minute walk away.

@Tsaukpaetra It's weird that the foods I crave after extreme dieting are just cheap junk food. Like I could go someplace nice, but I'd rather destroy a Taco Bell.

I'll admit I may have done something similar after having been woken up three hours past sleep and still in a daze, thus blindly executing a command in response to some key words and responding it should be fixed.
Granted, it would have normally worked, but since I connected to the local machine and not the affected one... well...

That is the appropriate thing to do to a Taco Bell, certainly better than eating any of the so-called food.

@Gąska
no More Poland
-
@Luhmann not yet Poland.
It's a fun campaign. Started as Duke of Silesia under the King of Poland and started conquering everything around. Eventually I've got aaalmost powerful enough to usurp throne. So I secretly murdered the king and his heir was significantly less powerful, so I declared independence and then, because I owned majority of Polish land, declared myself the king. That's when I took the screenshot. I found the "Poland - Lesser Poland" split funny, considering it's right where the border between developed and underdeveloped regions is in modern day.
Also, I kindly asked the pope whether I can be the king of Bohemia too and she said go for it. So now I'm gathering strength for a war with Kaiser Heinrich.

Looks like they took over a bit of the coast. Totally in keeping for that period. (Later on in reality, Sweden also gave it a go.)

Status: Had the sound just mysteriously cut out on my PC. Applications just disappear from the mixer list for some reason. This happens rarely enough that I decided to look up a solution in Google. Are people retarded? Not only was most advice a brillant suggestion to uninstall/reinstall audio drivers, lots of it came in the form of YouTube videos. Which, having no sound, I could not hear.
Turned out all I needed to do was restart the Windows Audio Service (audiosrv).
Long ago, I worked for a company building dictation devices. They were not really electrostatic discharge proof...
So, typically during early heating season, some ESDs happened. And some how the USB chip then managed to send nonsense data, and killed the windows audio service.
Since a non-administrative user may not have access to servcies.msc, we suggested that they log out of Windows, and then log in again. Also then, the Audio Service gets restarted,

Status: Air conditioning is malfunctioning. Fortunately, it's not full summer, yet, so it could be a lot worse. The A/C works, but condensation is leaking out of the unit in sufficient quantity that it has run all the way from the furnace/AC/water heater closet in the back of the garage, through the entire garage, and out the garage door onto the driveway, getting stuff stored in the garage wet along the way. So A/C is shut off until repair person gets here this afternoon.
