When I was in grade school, I found their food was uniformly so awful that the only proper thing to call them was "Yucky Fried Chicken."
Now that I've grown and my tastes have matured a bit... their food really isn't any better.

I once saw a picture in a magazine of a KFC at night with part of its lighted sign burnt out. What was left spelled out "Ucky Fried Ick".
(I've had salmonella poisoning probably five times in my life. Most of them from KFC.)

A former neighbour of mine used to say that her favourite bits of a KFC meal were the fried gristle. I take that as an indication of how much I want to eat from there, even leaving aside hygiene concerns...

I waffled about which thread to put it in, but decided this was a less half-baked place for it.

A software that prevents a meeting from being scheduled unless the highest ranking person in the meeting manually types out the name of every person invited to the meeting for each occurrence of the meeting. (This task could not be delegated.)
The time of a higher ranking person is generally more valuable than the time of a lower ranking person. Still, higher-ranking people tend to exaggerate the ratio. Requiring the highest ranking person actually attending the meeting to spend 5 seconds typing out the name of each person having to attend each occurrence of a meeting would result in fewer wasted hours in meetings for subordinates and thereby greatly improve productivity.

Just prevent anyone joining whose name has not been typed out in full by the senior person.
Why didn't you join?
You got my name wrong. Again.

@dkf Better change your name to @Maciejasjmj or @Gąska then.
But I can't even type that!
Well, it's not my problem that your keyboard doesn't have an ogonek, ask general IT for a different keyboard...

I wonder if 5th-dimensional imps named Anna, Bob, Eve or Otto face special difficulties in life.

Why would a name with bi-lateral symmetry cause problems for computers in the 5th dimension? And would this be the programmer's fault?
-

Of course. Everything is the programmer's fault.

TFA, before it overlayed me to tab-closing: That's a 1% improvement in aerodynamics, so probably also that order of magnitude in fuel saving.

@PleegWat So does the Air Force spend ~$700 million on fuel each year? (Are any numbers on that even publicly available?)
Also, I'm a bit surprised that aircraft windshield wipers are even a thing. (At that speed, I wouldn't expect any water droplets would remain on the windshield long enough to matter!)
-
@Mason_Wheeler From https://www.aircraftcompare.com/blog/airplanes-windshield-wipers/ :
Essentially, pilots use a variety of methods to deal with rain on their windshields, including basic windshield wipers, jet blasts or pneumatic rain removal, seal coatings over the windshields, and chemical rain repellents. Most use one or more of these methods when rain threatens to block their view, and many of them are much simpler to use than you think.
Sometimes, the high speed used by the airplanes is enough to keep the rain from forming on the windshield. Whatever type of plane you find yourself on, it is likely that if they do have windshield wipers, they are only used when they’re on the ground.

@boomzilla All of which makes me wonder why Lincoln city council is an appropriate venue for such an effort. Do they have city ordinances that mention “boneless chicken wings” directly? If so, why?
-
@dkf if you're in Lincoln, Nebraska, you don't have a whole lot of choices in public forums in which you can go speak and get a viral video going.
