TIL, thanks. It is possible, now that I know where it is, to get there through the GUI; it's even somewhat discoverable if you know to poke through Settings until you find it (Advanced, Language and input settings..., Custom spelling dictionary).

The way I heard it, there are maximums for rat droppings, fly parts, and such, but they're optional.
Someone I worked with told a story about his time as a USDA inspector for orange juice. He made the "mistake" one time of rejecting an import shipload because of excessive fly parts and such. The bosses immediately sidelined him, and had sixteen different tests run, until they found one inaccurate enough to pass the load. And then they passed it.
So apparently, the maximums are optional.

Saw this in a friend's Facebook feed...

His bosses were government employees or company employees? If government employees, I smell bribery.

They were all government employees. It might have just been fear of job security: companies can get pretty abrupt if they're frustrated and heads could roll. Of course, it also could have been bribery.

took me a few seconds to "see" the ladder - it blended in so well with the crash barriers. Also, my single cell brain was focussing on "Jefferson" and trying to figure out the joke.

That doesn't sound like optional to me, that sounds like corrupt - whether bribery or just self-interest. If it was optional they could have just passed the load without needing a false negative test.

Do you know why I pulled you over? Can you guess?

I agree with you. When I said "they're optional" I was being sarcastic. I should have added a

I'm not sure if this belongs here or in the Good Ideas Thread, so I'm erring on the side of bad.

Awesome--it's both a knife AND a club.
Probably was illegal in England before they even made it!

The ketchup company also offered him a free bottle of ketchup with his own custom label design.
Eh, better than no-
The pornography company also left a comment, offering him a free one-year subscription to their site.
Now that's customer service!

This got me a 404:

Ditto, but at least the host is resolving and there's a webserver running on it.
And given the promotion ended on the 9th of Trigintary 2011 I'd be surprised if there was anything at the end of that URL anyway. ;)

So..... I guess.... leaving a deposit, would be a customer serviced?
Ummm, if somebody could show me the door.....

I'd call it an outgoing UDP stream.

I think I saw that on an episode of Friends, too.

American URL, American date. Besides, if you're going to use the British format isn't it actually 9th Trigintæry?

Man it's almost as if ridiculous urban legends on the internets aren't always true.

The person who bought that domain could have contacted Heinz first about it instead of putting up porn, is all I'm sayin'.
-
Assuming he knew it was Heinz that previously had it. Even then, he's under no obligations.
-
Which do you consider less ethical, hosting a porn site or blackmail?
-
This sounds like a good idea at first:
There's video at the link. But I predict the screens end up causing accidents by being distractions and disorienting drivers. Also, they're probably using Tizen. SPANK, SPANK!
-
Which do you consider less ethical, hosting a porn site or blackmail?
What makes you think I assumed he wanted to blackmail them. Maybe he could've been a nice guy, bought the domain, and offered to transfer it back to them, instead of putting up a porn site.
-
i'm hoping to see one of those in the route next month while traveling.
at least someone talks about one lane roads being the major cause of accidents
-
It'd be nicked at the first opportunity. The speed / time of which would be dependant on the town / city that it happened to be driving through at the time
-
But I predict the screens end up causing accidents by being distractions and disorienting drivers.
Objects in the screen may be closer than they appear?I hope they chose their cameras' focal points wisely, because introducing depth distortion in that image is just looking for trouble.
-
It occurs to me. Why would you want this? Most of the time you would be forced to read the same physical newspaper as the driver of the lorry.
Not very well thought through, but if you get squint hard enough, it works.
-
That's all irrelevant - it's a marketing stunt.
They don't care whether it would actually work.Heck, they probably don't even normally run any artics with their branding on them. It wouldn't surprise me if the artic was actually completely empty.
