Well he might be able to talk about them, even if it's in the abstract sense.
What he can't do is look at images of them. Apparently.

There are two of them - can you not get either of them?
Not sure. Lemme go back and look again...
It all seems to come back to the connection between nipples and fascism. I'm not seeing how we connect the dots there, except in a Jon Stewart-like innuendo that sounds kind of funny but doesn't really make sense when you think about it. If that's all it is, OK, I get it. If there's supposed to be something more...nope, not getting it.
-
More seriously, it's his implied "we don't censor stuff because we beat facism" comment, and I was calling him out on how - actually - inconsequential stuff is censored over there.
For some reason he took it to mean I was talking about fascism (because ) , when in fact this sub-topic started about censorship.

Ah, I think I get it. Still, I'd rather censor the inconsequential stuff (e.g., porn) than the consequential stuff (books and any other political speech). Better to bring up the Democrats' proposal to gut the First Amendment.
There's also a big difference (at least in American jurisprudence) between printed books and stuff that goes over the public airwaves, or even over private channels like cable / satellite.

Trouble is there's a whole lot of grey slippery-slope type stuff in the middle....

One might say, 50 shades of it....

Put these things in order of censoriousness for a US audience:
- spoke nipples

- Laptop nipple
- female nipples
- Nipple - Claw Boys Claw
- canine nipples
- bonobo nipples
- grease nipples
- chimpanzee nipples (separate the sexes, if it matters)
- Nipples - Peter Brötzma

Yes, but again, the medium is key. It's not like you absolutely cannot ever broadcast nipples. Reasonable time and place restrictions (which is what the nipple thing was about) are really not much like the Germans not allowing anyone to print Mein Kampf.

Derogatory term for Japanese
That's 'nip', not 'nipple', derogatory derevation from 'Nippon'(日本) their word for their own country. (As Deutschland is for Germans, Français for the French etc.)
-
"Nip" is pretty much only acceptable in old WW2 movies.
-
Except when it comes to nipples.
but only for certain sets of secondary sex characteristics.

Is it chromosomes? What about a man who's had implants? Or a transgender woman who's grown them from hormones? If getting implants counts, would a recording of the operation need to start blurring them at some point during it?
WE NEED ANSWERS, DAMMIT
-
but only for certain chromosomal arrangements.
@Jaloopa is right, you hater. Not all women have vaginas, after all.
-
Is it chromosomes?
ok, technically not. you try to take a shortcut in describing something.....
What about a man who's had implants?
depends on how rich and white and old he is.... get high enough up those ladders and the patriarchy (damn it to tartarus) would probably be okay with it.

look this *&^% is complicated okay?

The Serbian army on Monday (Feb 9) announced a fire sale of military surplus, including a fleet of Soviet-era tanks and thousands of rocket launchers, in order to raise funds for new equipment.

I think a year is prison was probably excessive, but then I read this:
The case has resonated within South Korea because of a continuing debate over the way the family-owned and run conglomerates - chaebol - operate.
Some critics say that the way family members are favoured is unfair and mitigates against good business. They say the nut rage case epitomises that.
and it sounds like they're making an example of her. "See? Even the bigwigs aren't above the law!"
-
Because someone (else) might be offended.
Ever notice how these fucktards always want to ban stuff on someone else's behalf? We should apply the legal concept of standing here. If you want a book banned come out and say so. Don't say "oh, it might offend women/children/Jews/six-fingered Tibetans".

....what.Apparently, it's not really censorship if it is done by a whole media industry acting in concert. It's only censorship if Teh Eevul Gubmint does it or something. Which is ridiculous. Public discourse in the States would be a lot more relevant with more boobs. Outside of Congress, that is.
-
Oh I didn't pay attention to any of the words in those sentences apart from the last ones...
-
Cowboy Presidents
-
Outside of Congress, that is.
why outside of congress? there could stand to be a few more pairs of boobs in congress.
or is that some political joke that i just wooshed on?
-
It's only censorship if Teh Eevul Gubmint does it or something.
Well, the government ain't allowed to censor based on viewpoint. It's a pretty fundamental point of our laws. I mean, you could call acts by private entities censorship, but it's kind of missing the point of free speech. So at least you're in the right thread.
-

You've probably got enough tits in there already. Maybe it would be better if there were more tits with boobs, but I doubt it. They've systematically proved themselves to be utterly unable to find a challenge that they are up to.
-
They've systematically proved themselves to be utterly unable to find a challenge that they are up to.
well duh. getting stuff done means they actually have to work to get re-elected. if you're obstructionist you can campaign that you only failed because the other party wouldn't be reasonable and compromise.
they'll see the error of their ways.... they all will.... ONCE I UNLEASH THE POWER OF THIS FULLY OPERATIONAL LOW ORBIT ION CANNON! MWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
cough oh... sorry. that was supposed to be my inside my head voice..... could you just forget you read that please?

We do not want government censorship. However, we do not want private censorship either, especially when that is enforced by a collusion of large private fora so as to deny substantial parts of society the ability to effectively communicate their points. The general lack of boobs can be thought of as an indicator of trouble.

can campaign that you only failed because the other party wouldn't be reasonable and compromiseprobably saved everyone from a ton of shit.A lot safer if they do nothing than something.

Sure, we don't want it. But the only way to make sure you don't get that is to force people to talk (or whatever the medium is) about something, which is probably nearly as awful as not letting them talk about something.
IOW, I think perhaps you're confused about positive vs negative rights.
-
The general lack of boobs can be thought of as an indicator of trouble.
hmm.... i wonder if i can find and or create an image meme that perfectly expresses that indicator?
i'm thinking probably but it would almost certainly require a spoiler tag.
Like a picture of a pair of boobs, one exposed the other covered with the labels "no trouble" and "trouble" respectively and one of those swinging pointer indicator things that could be moved from one label to the other....

And of course for PC there would have to be two of them. one with boobs and one with moobs
hmm..... you do raise a good point given the room temperature average IQ in the house and senate (for the past ten years or so anyway)

Celsius or Fahrenheit?or is that some political joke that i just wooshed on?
Yes

I don't think it has significantly changed. And there's often more to worry about when high IQ folks get involved, because they think they're smart enough to do all sorts of stupid shit.
