There is no C# on Linux - or is there?
-
Qt works with C#?

Also, remember that the FSF is against JavaScript which hasn't stopped it from being used basically everywhere, including on the application server.
New rule: everything Stallman bashes is worth getting a certification in.

I just went XAML in the hopes that in a few years Microsoft will have some way to get their XAML UI across.
An unholy bastardisation of XAML (using a whole suite of custom widgets and Lua in place of C#, yeah) is currently making me unhappy at work, which kind of makes me not want to use it for personal development, which I would prefer to enjoy. I'm not sure how much of this is truly XAML's fault, but it does seem kind complex and overengineered. I just want to put some widgets on a window, damnit!
-
That doesn't make any sense. XAML is incredibly easy. Bringing in Lua would just make everything far worse...
Where I work, we've done some horrible client-server thing with XAML that I hate, but working with the real thing is great.

Not surprised, but I just got to work and haven't had time to see the new things. Anyway, I'll probably at least try it out on linux some time. Can't be worse than Xamarin Studio.

Despite the New Microsoft being nothing like the Old Microsoft with 'embrace, extend, extinguish'.
Moar like "flair, fail, and collect billions in licensing fees and enterprise support"
i kno good at this
-
Did you mean "flair" or "flail"? The latter works better IMO.
-
- Flail
- Fail
