I Hate Flash

Wait, checking my memory

Um, I'm with you on Flash--I think it's time to see it die, but I think you need to read that PPAPI link you provided. It clearly states that Chrome will continue to support Flash, because it is a plug-in that comes with Chrome.

Yeah, I posted it without rereading it--and this is what I get. The first time I read the article (back in July, I think) Adobe was still saying they weren't going to support PPAPI so there. My how things change.

I like Flash, but whenever he asks "how fast I need to run for X" I know they will do something ridiculous that takes effort to keep my suspension of disbelief and enjoy the show.

I'm going to miss all those flash games I played as kid when the game sites shut down.

I know I'll miss Killfrog. not recommended for anyone don't say I didn't warn you

My childhood games site was http://onemorelevel.com/ - I remember I first found out about line rider and sonic through it, as well as N-Ball due to Ragdoll Avalanche. Not sure if anyone here even knows about http://www.ragdollsoft.com/ - that was my first forum community (the forums are now deleted) at age 11 (everyone was pretty immature).

Looks like it's already gone then?
does a little "hacking" with the help of archive.org...
Um... Yeah. It's not horribly bad, but... yeah...

childhood games site
My childhood games were on an Atari 2600. And we had to ration it because we had off-grid electric and couldn't run the batteries down too much

Yeah, maybe it's down permanently; I should have visited the link last night. Sorry about that.
But if you want the flavor (remember, not appropriate for anyone) I suggest "Ed and His Inner Demons" on YouTube.

So why are we hating a 1980 pop single again?

Because 80ties music was awful

Queen was awesome.

Ow...my eyes!
You know what? There were aspects of that decade that are best forgotten.

Ok, how about
David McCullagh wore a coat carrying more than 80 ties to his leaving party.

Is that his sole claim to fame?

Is that his sole claim to fame?
As far as I know, yes. I just GISed "80 ties," and it found that picture and caption on some local(?) UK newspaper's website. What little I glanced at didn't seem to suggest any reason he would be known or cared about beyond that local news item.

I saw those ninja edits, you quote mismatcher!

I keep forgetting that " is a dead key in US-International keyboard layout. Which I
thought I changeddid change back to US-English as default, but for some reason it's still defaulting to International. ?

Yeah, the fact that Windows doesn't have a US international keyboard layout without dead keys is super-annoying. Linux has had it forever.
And before someone mentions the keyboard layout creator: That doesn't help, it fucks up the touch keyboard since it hasn't been updated since the Windows 7 release.

How come his funny hat doesn't fly off when he runs fast?

At least he has a better excuse to use wear some weird costume than most comic superheroes, that the attrition from his running burn normal clothes.
Whatever Hulk uses as an excuse is also good enough for me, the awkwardness of being realistic and having all of his clothes trashed when he transforms would take away from the story.

Hell, we started with forums that used approximately 0% client side resources and no we use ones that take gigabytes of RAM and measurable CPU percentage.
Yes, but this forum is in HD!
Or so I assume, given the way @wood masturbates over the size of his monitors.
And don't forget 1080p audio. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3Ikbhl7rVM

WTH is "1080p audio"? Does the sound have more pixels or something?

Apparently some people think so. There are different bit rates for audio when you're listening to streaming music or video. Some people are confused and think it has to do with the video resolution, which is actually entirely separate.
Maybe this idea originates with salesdroids? ("Unlike this low-priced model, this much more expensive TV is even better because it not only has 1080p video, it has 1080p sound!")

After the "mp5 player" and the "mp12", there is no limit on what salesdroids can do with words

This is most definitely made with the editor but I warmly suggest to archive a copy for future use until the Google Code site is permanently taken down.

firefox and their configure everything nonsense. I'm not interesting in spending 4 hours looking through the settings to disable and enable crap.
Yeah, it's a bug well-known to the Mozilla guys. But still, they didn't fix it, what with this whole stuff of late about becoming cool and changing.
When it comes to Chrome, long ago I decided, that I don't want to trust people, who used to sincerely believe that not adding a master password option to the view-passwords-as-plain-text function is a good idea. Actually, I just checked, with vanilla install of Chrome I can still go to chrome://settings/passwords and view all my saved passwords without ever knowing that a master password could be set up. I'd probably need to log in with Chrome for that, but they decided I shouldn't know that.
Queen was awesome.
She sure as hell still is!

Yeah, it has that broken touch keyboard, as I expected. (Well, not literally broken, but 10 times worse than the actual one.) Thanks anyway.

Actually, it was a joke, referring to stupid YouTube videos like this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3Ikbhl7rVM
Where someone uploads audio from a CD, but because YouTube is for videos, they make a "video" that consists of a single static picture and then label it as "HD 1080p".
Technically correct, but stupid and irrelevant.
-
irrelevant.
I think it's either relevant or it used to be, because the audio bitrate was pegged to the video resolution - so watching an audio clip in, say, 144p also meant your sound would be compressed accordingly badly.
That was back in the time when YT used Flash, though, not sure how it fares now...
-
HD 1080p has audio sampled at 44.1kHz in 16 bit sampling or better?
-

480p for higher audio quality was a tagline for some channels.

Why is the reverse mermaid fapping?

"Adobe Flash Player provided eight of the top 10 vulnerabilities used by exploit kits in 2015."

Why does the reverse centaur have too much of the human part?
-
It looks like the same proportions as the regular centaur to me.
The regular centaur has a human body down to the waist and a horse body up to the shoulders/neck. The reverse centaur has a horse body down to the midsection/waist and a human body up to the shoulders/neck.
