Someone in the office is wearing the same shirt as I am.
That's why I only wear T-shirts and hoodies with the most obscure bands I can find.

Someone in the office is wearing the same shirt as I am. Thank god I'm leaving early so that I can go home and change.
ERR_FAILED_LOGIC
Unles your colleague is coming with you to check up your ass, the problem is solved once you leave the office.
What's more, it is unlikely that they will wear the same shirt tomorrow, so you can use yours one more day.

You seem to care too much about what people in the office think about what you wear.
Some things are just not done! What's more, it is unlikely that they will wear the same shirt tomorrow, so you can use yours one more day.
No, just no!

I didn't have to reboot afterwards.
congratz, i'm waiting for them to actually be able to upgrade my graphics
carddrivers without me having to force a clean install and then re-setup my surround settings,every bloody time i upgrade it does something weird to my monitor setup if i don't do a clean install or manually remove the surround settings first.;
last time i forgot it somehow managed to invert the left side of my monitors.... all three of them
what the?!
how?!
WHY IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!

Status: why the fuck with the murder horror shows
You can make an enjoyable show by serving up episodic content for a long time without huge requirements on long term plots or character development.

But, yeah, I do believe that multicore would result in essentially zero effect on the FTP upload from moving the mouse. BUT NOT EVERYONE HAS MORE THAN ONE CORE!
The only single core shit I'm aware of still in the wild are a few WtfCorp VMs and embedded devices.

Why wouldn't you need to set things up again on a new card?

STATUS: Someone has to do a tidy up.
I'm lazy so most of the names for my temp projects are asdf. So I'm debugging and paused the gui thread ,surprisingly enough this is actually a gui problem for once and not just in the gui thread, another rant for another time, but I need to find the project xml so that I can check what I'm supposed to be seeing. I do a quick search of the hard drive for "asdf.project.xml". 200 hundred results all in the a folder called "temp" just off the root of the C drive that I put there for safe keeping... FFS!

You should stop listening to morons.

Is that the question in... well, question?
Because it's really terrible, TBH. Tagged under
mysql

, when you need aWHERE

-
If you're leaving, why would it matter if you changed?
Now that you mention it that does sound rather idiotic...

I took a guess: 16 hours ago, 8 views, no answers, user "boom inc". Could still be someone else, though.

Don't be a jerk and almost-dox people.
If Boomzilla wanted people here to find the question, he'd have linked to it. Let people control their OWN information, please.

Wow that is... extraordinarily redneck for someone who posts on this board.
Have you met @mott555?
Status: Tried to follow the chain of conversation leading to this mention, got jelly-potatoed all over the damn place, and gave up.
-
Status Addendum to @mott555's ongoing ESXi game server woes: I shut down the box for some maintenance and dusting last night, and when it came up again it had corrupted another disk partition. Thankfully it was a disk that only had an SSH server open to the Internet so I could remote access everything, and not the disk with everything important on it. Now two of the three disks have corrupted partitions. I can't wait for my NAS to get in so I can do actual backups. Then I'll start thinking about upgrading to a new Intel Skylake Xeon with proper ECC memory.
I really wanted to like you, AMD. That FX-8350 looked perfect for some light-duty game server virtualization, especially for the price. But something somewhere on your chipset sucks. I'd sooner trust a fart after food poisoning on Mexican food night than build another light-duty server using consumer AMD hardware.
(I have also run servers using consumer-grade Intel stuff (not Xeon, not ECC) and never had troubles.)

You seem to care too much about what people in the office think about what you wear.
It could be worse. Remember Mr. Pink Shirt Guy (username started with S, I think)? Your suits must cost at least a months salary, and you must have enough of them to not wear the same suit twice in month, or something.
Also, if they were women, they'd both have to quit because of the shame.
-
Remember Mr. Pink Shirt Guy
I do not.
If I had to wear a suit to work, I'd probably have not accepted the job unless I was desperate.
-
I don't know why you're trusting sites, I'd trust the browser vendors to prevent that and patch it quickly.Personally.
But I guess that's just me.
Yes. It is just you. And Grandma.
OK. Still does the same thing as the malicious js...
If you can't understand the difference between a compromised web server serving up headers, and third party javascript emitting location redirect, there is literally no hope for you. Enjoy your malware.
How is that relevant to the discussion? A SQL-injection vuln on the server-side doesn't really have any impact on Javascript's security on the client........
If you don't understand how a compromised site works, there is literally no hope for you. Enjoy your malware.

When did you and Blakey switch places again?

Status: I'm so glad for infiniscrolling. Now when I read this thread:
- The fuckavator is absolutely useless as a fraction indicator, since even 100/35980 doesn't render
- The Shitavator is absolutely useless as a "number of posts to read", since I can't just subtract two 5-digit numbers at a glance
- the scrollbar is useless because infiniscroll
- if I don't instantly reply to a message as soon as I read it, it's impossible to scroll back up and find it again
-
When did you and Blakey switch places again?
If Blakey and I agree on something, that thing is either extremely fucking awesome, or the absolute ass-end of -world.
Also: fuck random third party javascripts.

There's a Bookmarks link at the top of the home page

Or I could use bookmarks to bookmark posts I want to find later, long term.

https://what.thedailywtf.com/users/aliceif/activity/bookmarks
It's under/users/
and thus, slow.
(Might not apply to the latest Discourse release)

Back on CS. Started a debate on whether it was ok for guys to wear pink. Turned out the pink shirt was striped, and the only pink was a stripe so narrow you couldn't even see it in the picture he posted.
@loopback0 said:If I had to wear a suit to work, I'd probably have not accepted the job unless I was desperate.
IIRC, he worked in a stuffy East Coast bank, or some such, where even the nighttime cleaning crew had to wear suits to work. Thought the entire world was, or should be, like that.
-
Well, yes, but you can go to
https://what.thedailywtf.com/bookmarks
and get the same info and it's quick and doesn't cause cooties

Maybe the teacher has experience with Discourse. I have no disbelief whatsoever that moving the mouse when viewing Discourse slows your computer down (even more than usual).

Oh, sorry, I thought you meant the one in the avatar menu.
I never really paid attention to the buttons at the top of /latest

No repro:
Unless, of course, you're on mobile. That's different.@Lorne_Kates said:
I can't just subtract two 5-digit numbers at a glance
For me, at least, the difference rarely goes beyond the last two digits, so I can generally ignore the first three digits and just do a two-digit subtraction in my head.@Lorne_Kates said:

That's true.@Lorne_Kates said:

Not impossible; I do it frequently. It's definitely more difficult in this topic than short ones, though, and I rarely read more than a dozen or so posts beyond the one I want to reply to before I go back and reply.
-
Wait, that's the Star view.
It shows bookmarked topics.
Not bookmarked posts.Sorry, but you're wrong.

Status: Trying to find out whether any notifications got pushed off the bottom of the pop-up list before I got a chance to read them. Sorry about the cooties.
Edit: Yes, one did. Somebody liked one of my posts from April '15.

Where the links take you to the corrct thread but not the right post. Because that would be ...useful, I guess.
Basically, what @aliceif said, but with more venom and a talking head conversation between the discodesign team when they decided how that feature should best work to make an as useless product as possible.

As I said, the Bookmarks button in /latest is actually the Stars button.
And the Bookmarks button in the avatar menu is the Bookmarks button.
