Status: Writing Mafia, running diagnostics on dad's PC (god dammit if there's bad hardware in here I built 3 more just like it off the same batches).
Ever seen Memtest86+ crash? Neither had I, until just now.
... And it only happens when a core other than core0 is doing the memory access. And the memory controller is on the fucking die. That's a fucking CPU problem. God dammit.
.... Actually, apparently it's some bizzaroworld incompatability between Memtest86+ SMP mode and the i3's. i5's and i7's are fine, but it wedges the CPU in an irretrievable state on an i3. Wheeee.
STILL no damned clue what's wrong with this thing. It can't possibly corrupt Windows installs this quickly unless something is physically wrong. Even Windows 10 isn't this crap. Unless fucknuts hard shuts it down during updates. Which I can totally see him doing.

Last year they sold bullshit instead.
Literal bull shit. Like, from a bull. That went over even better with people who understood they were getting something but didn't read the part where they explained what they were actually buying.

Fuggin yes! Ever since I started using AB's turkey method, I literally can't eat the dry, sandy tasteless swillshit that is other people's turkeys. (Not that I'm being judgemental-- it's just that their turkey tastes like cat litter).
Best part about a brined bird's leftovers? If you wrap it first in wax paper, then air-tight in foil, and stick it in a zip-lock-- it'll last in the freezer for a couple years. And when you thaw it, IT'LL STILL BE JUICY! FUCKING SCIENCE IS AMAZING!
I did two Thanksgiving turkeys this year, so had the bones and scraps of two 15 pound birds. Made a huge batch of broth. Took a bunch of carrots, celery, onions and turkey scraps, and canned about 16 gallons of soup. That's going in people Christmas baskets this year.

Imagine a game where the entire storyline and all the characters are procedurally generated and fully voice acted. That's where we're heading.

My in-laws smoke two turkeys every year, cut the breasts off and discard the rest.
Do your in-laws know that they sell turkey breasts now?
-
-

Yes, but apparently it tastes different than if you smoke the whole bird and then cut off the breasts.
I don't doubt that they are correct about this. But I do doubt that it is worth discarding that much other meat for the amount of difference that it makes.
Oh well, I like the dark meat better ( anyone?) and I get two entire turkeys, sans breast meat, to take home.
-

I had a feeling you'd say something like that. Doesn't sound like it would make sense but I've never smoked a turkey, so maybe it does.

This is the same man that walked into a used car dealership, saw a pickup truck with visible rust and said "I'll give you $6000!". KBB value was $5000 in pristine condition. He asked me to look it over afterwards.
The description is accurate.

You should try his brine for duck that uses pineapple-orange juice.
I have never had tastier bird than what that makes. I make it every year for xmas.
Also, his brined pork chops are amazing. Pork chops are nearly impossible to grill without brining. They get too dry. His brine recipe makes the best grilled pork chops. I tweaked the method just a bit though. Since meat has to rest after it comes off the heat, and as part of that the meat "relaxes", I reserve the brine and boil it to kill off any pathogens and then when I pull the pork chops I put them in the hot brine to rest for ~5 minutes and they absorb even more juice and flavor as they rest. When you cut in to them, they positively glisten with moisture. No dryness at all.

It does, but not enough of a difference that I would throw away 80% of the bird if I only wanted the breast meat.

I glanced at that post and thought it was about breast cancer.

Oh man, there was an entire episode of King of the Hill written about him!

"How do you have a worse video game idea than that?!"
Well, you could add the ideas proposed right after he said that.

The villain of this other Marvel series I'm watching was revealed to be the doctor from season 7.
For some reason his companion is trying to kidnapp him, but he always escapes using his very persuasive talking.

Sounds good, but who or what is AB in this context?
-
Alton Brown, see links above.

Yeah, found the answer in @Polygeekery's reply. And with a bit of hunting (less than I expected :) ), I found the recipe for brined turkey.

Have you tried explaining it to them?

I heard a story recently about how someone got angry at police and ordered (and paid for) 200+ coconut donuts to be delivered to the police station. Apparently nobody likes coconut donuts, but they were able to give them to a homeless shelter.

they were able to give them to a homeless shelter.
That's mean. I would not wish coconut donuts on anyone.

Hey, it beats the usual American method of getting a gun and shooting everyone.
Much less clean-up.
Unless the donuts were covered in powdered sugar.

FUCK powdered sugar donuts. I don't understand how anyone thinks they can be eaten.

Especially since, when any reputable meat house make smoked breast, they smoke the whole turkey anyways-- and sell smoked breast, wings, drums, etc. Then either sell the smoked bones as dog treats, or turn them into broth for split pea & ham soup.

If we had to wait at least 3 days after a mass shooting in the US to talk about mass shootings, we'd literally never be able to talk about mass shootings in the US.
BTW: The proper terminology for that fucker is "terrorist".

I'm generally only here once per day.
For about 16 hours at a time. :)

- That an innocent person who believed in her would die because she couldn't save them.
- That she would fail so grievously that she would lose the respect of her comrades and be dishonored.

One has a reply from the OP saying something like "i think i installed too many jars install less jars fixed it", another has a reply from a moderator that says "this topic has been moved", and the other eighteen have no replies.
