On 20/20/2020 Facebook and McDonalds will merge, giving birth to the one true god that will nurture all our digital and physical needs.
Those who are already followers will get tastier sandwiches and faster download speeds. All you need to do is sacrifice one post each day.
-
-
@ben_lubar Facebook, by then it will have merged with Google and Facebook fiber will be the only ISP in the market. People will just call the internet Facebook.

In the screenshot (which is of a game titled "Ark: Survival Evolved"), the character (in this case, myself) is following a target (the dino or "crocodile" according to @Lorne-Kates) in order to tame it (something you do in order to make a dino yours).
This particular dino requires passive taming, which means you follow it around feeding it stuff like berries until it's yours.Because nobody told me it preferred flowers, I was feeding it random berries, which are very much less effective than flowers, and so instead of taking a short 15 minutes or so, it took more than an hour.

@Lorne-Kates
Of course. What other reasons could you have to tame a dinosaur?

I'm sure someone's made a mod that allows that...

Because my graphics card is embarrassing by PS2 standards.
Edit: you can't tell from the screenshot, but my FPS at that time was ~ 8.

@Tsaukpaetra said in The Official Status Thread:
the dino or "crocodile" according to @Lorne-Kates
I'm don't think my assessment would be 'crocodile',, but I wouldn't guess dinosaur either. That has very much a sprawling posture, and one characteristic feature of dinosaurs compared to many other reptile lineages is their upright posture . I wouldn't say lizard of any sort either, since the tail appears to be very short. Some kind of pre-dinosaur reptile, I'd say, if it's not entirely fantastic.
Alternately, it's just a really badly depicted dinosaur and the creator should be ashamed.
Also unless the creature has backward-facing feet, a blowjob is not what's happening.
-
@cartman82 WAT.
OK, solution to this: treat everything in cents internally and then fix it on display. £100.00 is really 10000 internally.
It's a shit to deal with but it preserves all accuracy.
-
-
... sans the tail?
-
@Mikael_Svahnberg that was in fact my first thought, but as you say it would have to have lost the tail somehow. I thought that comparatively unlikely in the context, but anything's possible.
-
@Tsaukpaetra said in The Official Status Thread:

I wish all new games had a sufficiently low graphics mode for my old laptop with integrated graphics.
-
-
@r10pez10 That is scary.
-
@CarrieVS Maybe it was very frightened and lost it?
-
@Mikael_Svahnberg aside from the fact that Komodo dragons, from what I can find, can't drop their tails on a whim like many smaller lizards can, I'm not at all sure what it would be so afraid of. Those things have few f*cks to give about anything.
I am informed that any lizard's tail will come off if pulled hard, so it could have got in a fight, but it seems unlikely to me that in the context that functionality would have been faithfully replicated, or tailless individuals designed on purpose. Not impossible, though.

Are there any files that are meant to be compressible? Like, "well, we could save this in less bytes, but it's bloat it to shit so people using 7zip will feel better about themselves."

No dice, there's zero support for that in PHP. Fuck it. I'll just keep using float.PHP has classes.
Just write a class that internally uses an INT but divides by 100 before output. IIRC if you want unambiguous rounding, you actually need 4 digits past the decimal point.
-
@CarrieVS said in The Official Status Thread:

That's true of every animal's limbs.
Except snakes, possibly.
-
@blakeyrat strictly speaking a tail is not a limb. But yes, any appendage will come off if pulled hard enough. However lizards' tails are adapted do so relatively easily, even if they're not amongst the species which can voluntarily drop them without force being applied.

@Lorne-Kates Cartman82 obviously never worked with fixed point math on a machine like an old 68k Mac with no floating point unit in the CPU.
