🙅 THE BAD IDEAS THREAD

Oh jeez, that could have ended badly...

Oh jeez, that could have ended badly...
In my opinion, it did. I was hoping the cat would get eaten.
-
I don't know why they didn't just include a right-tilted dump ramp and be done with it. Bicyclists are all going to wind up in the water anyway; they might just as well have dumped them at the start and saved the paint.

Crouching Tiger stares down Hidden Dragon and wins. Best outcome evar.

That's not the first video I've seen where a cat stared down a croc. Go figure.

Depends, are they on Ember or Angular? Maybe 10, 15 minutes.

Yes, let's have all the Jews wear a different symbol than the Christians. Maybe a star, for Hanukkah?

Like this, perhaps?

Not sure if this is a bad idea or good idea
Handjob Cabin a movie about a ghost that masturbates its victims to death.
-

We need another acronym for this sort of things, something like NSFW... OSFPM (Only Suitable For Private Mode), DC (Delete Cookies)... Something like that

You'd think it being called "Handjob Cabin" was a big clue ;)

-
WAS it a bad idea?
I had no idea this series was coming out. Now I do, and am interested.

My university is holding a conference on the German word for "no". /cc @aliceif
Here's the bad idea: it's at 7 in room 175. On 2015-12-01.
I wonder if there is some digit that sounds like the German word for "no" that they could have incorporated somehow.

I use a service called RAPEX to check for products being flagged for non-conformity. Unfortunately, Googling that gets you pictures of this thing:
-
I wonder if any of these people asked themselves, what happens AFTER their device is activated?

Thinking what happens after isn't characteristic of that area of human activity.
-
The one in Snow Crash was better, since it
tranquilized the target
.

Plus, if that thing actually becomes, erm, hooked then the would-be perpetrator most likely won't be doing much thinking in any way.

is not a would-be perpetrator; he has definitely penetrated and perpetrated.
most likely won't be doing much thinking in any way.
It seems to me that there is a significant likelihood of violent rage directed against his victim, especially if he was already using a lethal weapon to force his victim to submit. I'm not convinced this improves the outcome for the victim.

Who in his right mind gets up one day and says, "I think I'll start an all-male nudist colony"?

“A guy had a miniature horse, which didn’t fit comfortably in the back, so he was put in first class,” says Eric Lipp, executive director of Open Doors Organization, an advocacy group for people traveling with disabilities. “The airline made the horse wear these little shoes so it didn’t scuff the plane, but it pooped all over and the other first-class travelers weren’t happy.”
...
“A man once insisted that his emotional support monkey needed an emotional support bird,’’ says Lipp.
...
Before arachnids and reptiles were outlawed as emotional support animals in 2008, Lipp says, “We had a woman who had an emotional support tarantula, and I actually believed her. She had a lot of anxiety over takeoffs and landings, and tarantulas require a lot of focus, which took her mind off the problem, but it terrified passengers.”

Who in his right mind gets up one day and says, "I think I'll start an all-male nudist colony"?
I'm not sure the all-male aspect of his social experiment was by design, but I suppose somebody who prefers men might.

Wait, so I can't claim an emotional support turtle?
Good thing nobody has come out against emotional support vultures, then.

Possibly a woman who lives on a nearby hill.

Also, I'm totally late to the party, but what the hell, I'm bored.
You're off by an order of magnitude. Because the vendor price is per 10, not per 1.
-
+1 infusions went way down in price because of the shorter fractals introduced with Heart of Thorns. Also, for some reason, +4 infusions cost an absurd amount less than the materials to make them.
-
Still less than 1,000 gold even starting with +1s. And you linked it starting with +4s, thus were off by an order of magnitude.
My point stands.
And probably the +4 market vs crafting cost discrepancy happened when an enterprising soul or four figured out that +4, +6, and +8 are needed for the various legendary backpack collections, and at that time +1s were cheaper enough that there was an "arbitrage" opportunity. And volume picked up, people jumped onto it, maybe it made a /r/ thread somewhere... at which point the +1s started to spike in price and all those +4 sell orders are stuck out there looking stupid because, lo and behold, only 1 +4 is needed per account...

No, that page automatically switches to the lowest price.

Would it be evil to come up with the idea of writing a "native desktop" client for Discourse using EFL's JavaScript bindings? The airquotes are important and add meaning.
-
?
Depends. Is it going to look like, feel like, perform like, crash like, consume memory like, and all around be like Discourse on a Desktop Web Browser?
If so, then no, it's not evil, just unable to speak.
