Btw, it's funny that when pasting from outside sources, discourse works hard to preserve line breaks in wrong cases, but when quoting line-broken text posted to discourse, it insists on inlining. I'd file a bug report, but I honestly don't care enough.

If you try to quote my work,
You're in for Discopain;
It marks it up into HTML,
Then it marks it down again. And when it is up it is up,
And when it is down it is down,
And when it is only halfway up,
It is working as designed.

It's the best rollerblading/graffiti game ever made.
Absolutely. Jet Grind Radio sold me on a Dreamcast.

Don't worry, they'll tell you.

So... I can write and debug programs in made up assembly... on made up machine... and it's a game...
Buying. Right. Now.

Buying. Right. Now.
I'd wait for a Steam sale if I were you. Zachtronics games always go down (heh, heh).
It's more of a SpaceChem-like puzzler than a real programming game, though. There's also Human Resource Machine:
https://what.thedailywtf.com/t/human-resource-machine-is-a-game-about-programming-in-assembly/51900
but I didn't buy it, so I don't know if it's any good.

If only headphones weren't a thing.
if only i hadn't broken my office pair of headphones by runmning over the band with my office chair accidentally this week and havent replaced them yet.
-
Hmm, it's not that expensive. Not worth current price?
HRM looks interesting.
-

totally worth current price.
would be even better if the comments were proper text and not drawings.
very fun game,

I'unno... I'd say it is, but I may be biased in that I really liked the game. There's not an awful lot of content*, though, at least from what I've seen so far and heard - the puzzles are fun, but the formula doesn't change much.
*in terms of "new gameplay elements". There's plenty of puzzles, and I think there's a Portal Perpetual Testing Initiative-style "share your own puzzle" feature too.
-
That leaves me with no other option than to buy it at once :D

Now you just triggered @accalia!
ETA: OMG, apparently they're actually on sale now!

but I didn't buy it, so I don't know if it's any good.
I watched someone play it, it doesn't seem all that awesome.

and the sound quality is surprisingly good.
not great mind you, but much better than i expected.
now to casemod mine to be fox ears instead of cat ears, and to have a microUSB (or USB C) port for an external battery pack for massively longer listening on the go.
-
a microUSB (or USB C) port for an external battery pack for massively longer listening on the go.
And when you bought wired headphones that not only require a battery, but apparently a bigger battery, it hasn't occured to you that you're likely making a rather dumb decision?

/shrug
bad decision it might have been, but it was mine to make with my money and i'm getting enjoyment out of it, so there's that.
so long as no one other than myself(i'm not good with a soldering iron) gets hurt, then taking the long view it can't be that bad of a decision, can it?
-

Given those external speakers... not sure about it.
-
annoyed does not necessarily imply hurt.
-
HRM looks interesting.
My non-techie roommate played it and quite enjoyed it, so there's another data point. I liked it, but I breezed through it since I've done assembly programming before. My husband, who has learned matlab and not much else, was able to complete the puzzles. I think it's brilliant and a great introduction to "how computers work".
-
JSR and JSRF are sort of legendary, The first one was rereleased on steam a couple years ago, with an expanded soundtrack iirc. I haven't completed it, because I keep doing other things, but its definitely awesome. The second one has an awesome soundtrack too.

i'm not good with a soldering iron
Don't touch the warm part.
Filed Under: I do that. Every time. Without fail.
-
Don't touch the warm part.
that's easier said than done....
also burning fur smells TERRIBLE and the smell lingers for AGES!
-
Me soldering:
OK, melt here.... let it sit... OK.... *moves hand*
OHNOTHATSTHE
OWCHFUUUUUUUUUCK
-
I always end up letting the warm part touch the power cord. It's probably time for a new soldering iron before I electrocute myself.
The power cord has a mind of its own, I swear.
-
I hate it when that happens.
One of mine is to the point where I can see the exposed metal on the cord.
I should really not use that one any more...
-
Although, come to think of it.... Unless you actually touch the metal part, you should be fairly safe from electrocution.
Until you complete the circuit by touching the cord of course.
-
The music is all kinds of insane things.
The games are, as blakey mentioned, about people riding around on roller blades spraypainting things and running from the police in a very colorful alternate Japan. There isn't really another game like it.

i'll look into it.

annoyed does not necessarily imply hurt.
No, that's what happens to you after you annoy the people around you enough.
-
Don't touch the warm part.
Chicks dig scars. Especially if you make up a better story than "I touched the warm part () of a soldering iron".
-
No, that's what happens to you after you annoy the people around you enough.
ah, but that does not go against what i said:

Well, what if your music choices are triggering?
Insane Clown Posse is quite an acquired taste.

that's an interesting band name,
ans what soert of music does this *insane clown posse is quite an acquired taste" play?

And I honestly don't understand how anybody could have a different attitude on this.
