Didn't want that confused with the English language

You wrote "shook out some of the dust" wrong.

Isn't dust one of the 6 words that haven't had the 'u' taken out of them?

I don't know if it's 6 words, but probably. I don't think the English ever spelled it doust, and if they did, we'd've turned it into dost.

Oi mate. I don't know what you're talking aboot.

we'd've
I don't think I've ever seen a double-contraction written before, Google says it's valid too. TIL.

i wonder what happens with that popup if someone selects a LTR language....

Really? They come up in dialog pretty often (which often isn't "proper") but you also see it when the author's style is relaxed (again due to written form mimicking speech).

I don't believe so. It really stood out on FrostCat's post and made me go , so I think I would have noticed it if I'd come across it before. Possibly related to my literature choices then.

Or mine make it seem common but it isn't.

Or maybe that. Ian M Banks' book Feersum Endjinn is written phonically which is extremely odd to read.

Non-translated text there isn't as bad as the translated one...
Jest nie-na-temat
Who the fuck put all those hyphens in there!? That's not how you do Polish
Jest nieodpowiednie
While actually correct, the form in which it's written is very awkward. The "-e" at the end of verb is neuter form, but there isn't any neuter subject I can come up with that would fit the context. "Post" is masculine, while "wiadomość" and "treść are feminine. It looks like someone blindly translated English phrases without checking the context.
Jest odebrane jako spam
"Is received as spam"? Couldn't it be just "it's spam"?
Message @Onyx
Hint: there is no word "message" in Polish language.
Oflaguj wpis
Failed attempt at literal translation. Instead of "flag", it turned out to be more like "flagify".

Polish politicians are not bad either at misusing English.

Figured that it doesn't work. Then again, I have no idea how I'd translate that properly into Croatian, either. Probably use a word for "mark" instead of "flag", because literal translation would fail miserably as well.
-

Blind Idiot Translation from "it's inappropriate". What do you mean, check the translation in context? I got a list of strings, I translated a list of strings, what else do ya Poles want?

Honestly, I can't find any better translation than that (at least related to the word "flag"). It's weird, but understandable and more correct than not.
-

Solution: don't use anything related to flag. The whole reason why "flag" is a good word in English is because there is this very well known idiom "raise a flag". In Polish, there isn't, so anything related to flag is going to be counterintuitive - including the icon, except it's better to have a single icon for all languages even if it's counterintuitive in most of them than to have the site change its layout depending on language. There's one immediately obvious translation - "zgłoś". It's used in literally every other forum software ever translated to Polish.
-
I was convinced that skit was going to end with it being a 10-story building.
That would've been more of a Family Guy ending, probably. Or the door opens out onto a yawning abyss.

You could go to meta.derp and offer to improve their translation for them.
-
I'm not sure if this is what you're making fun of but "feel like at home" isn't all that bad, as such.

"Mark" would be a more appropriate word in English, anyway, but the usage of "flag" is well-known, at least into the programming world.

I got a list of strings,
Itranslate.google.com translated a list of strings, what else do ya Poles want?
FTFY

Actually, no, it was fucked up by hand. GTranslating "it's inappropriate" yields "to nieodpowiednie".

..... Brain..... why did you read the translated side as "to PewDiePie"?
seriously.... what in the goddess's name are you smoking?
and why aren't you sharing?
-
Well, it's strictly wrong, yes. I was assuming from the painted faces it's telling furriners they should feel like they're at home, which would've been the correct phrase, only on the billboard it should obviously have used "you're". And as written it's awkward, but no more so than you'd expect from a country that feels "kwik mart" is an acceptable store name, which is why I said it wasn't too bad.
I knew when I hit the reply button I should've added that. And I didn't bother following links to find out what the ad actually meant, so there's nuances, as other comments and answers point out.
-
Oh. Mind you, does it surprise you that even their translators are discompetent?

Can't the damned Poles just write stuff like all other honest Slavs so I can at least pronounce it?

YOINK!
Oh, I am so stealing that :D

Same here.
Fun fact: with this new forum software where not just the first, but every like on a post generates new notification, @obeselymorbid's strategy of necroing topics is much more efficient!
