/t/1000?

What happened to it? It seems I'm missing something like 60 posts/"nice post" s...
-
I noticed that yesterday. It seems to have been disappeared. Uber-Jeffed?
-
Got moved to see if it resolves some of the Cooties™.
-
Who dared do that?!
-
@boomzilla did.

It's not like it makes much difference as it was read-only anyway. Just changes a few user's stats.
Maybe we can have it back when Discourse "supports" big topics ;)
-
Just changes a few user's stats.
Don't tell anyone! Some people REALLY like their s!
-
Surprised revoking all of those s didn't take Discourse out.
-
Got 'd

well..... i guess that means that
/t/52226
is the new/t/1000
.

Gogogogogo! Before the GUID gets added to the no- list!

Notifipocalpse coming sometime in the next 24 hours.
-
I can't wait. I see the numbers already...
-
I am so glad I never really participated there...
-
Notifipocalpse coming sometime in the next 24 hours.
I already can't load my s page.

/users/ 404s happen all the time no matter what, though.

/users/ 404s happen all the time no matter what, though.
It kept going to the "Something went wrong" page with either no error or 502 OK.
It's just loaded now, but it took 7 goes.
-
Speaking of is there a way to disable notifications for likes and . I'm like oooooooooooohh someone has validated my existence and then =( it's only dickcourse.

Hello!
Now go away.

you're so mean.... ='(

/users/ 404s happen all the time no matter what, though.
which is a no matter how you look at it.
why does it take 30+ seconds to load my user profile?
why does it sometimes take so long that discourse gives up waiting and displays an error instead?
why, for the love of the goddess, is that error page a *REDIRECT to /404?! that's both the wrong error and you redirected me with some soret of browser history magic such that i can't F5 or Alt+Left Arrow my way to trying to load my profile (unless i happen to be on Edge which seems to have the edit history thing broken)
-
All profiles now take 30+ seconds to load. Working as intended.
-
The answer to all of those is, of course, Discourse.
-
User profiles have been showing up in the performance reports. In particular, @RaceProUK:
GET /users/RaceProUK.json HTTP/1.1 221.26 11
Looked at 11 times taking 221 seconds (I presume...there are no units in the report, but that sounds about right).
-
User profiles have been showing up in the performance reports. In particular, @RaceProUK:
interesting....
what the hades happened? it wasn't like this before.
I mean yes my profile took ages to load, but it wasn't all of them.
-
User profile loading times have sucked for a while now.
fail.d isn't busy enough for it to be a problem there, so JeffCo™ don't care.
-
It has to count all of your stuff. For someone with a lot of stuff, it makes sense that it's slow. Especially on a DB known to suck at counting. I suspect that the lack of sane indexing and the overall size of our DB is making everything slow now.

It's at least somewhat activity dependent - mine took a noticeable amount less than yours did to load. I wonder if it's transfer-related or db-related.

Ah. And what DB is that? And is it really the DB, or the queries against it?
-
I wonder if it's transfer-related or db-related.
DB related for sure.
Ah. And what DB is that?
PostgresAnd is it really the DB,
Yes.or the queries against it
also yes,or rather it's probably more the DB design is crap. and indexes are more or less nonexistent.
-
We should have seen it coming, really...
-
Yes.
That's...interesting. Not least because I didn't expect them to use Postgres. What do they design by, the principle of most surprise?
Also,
Index-only scans have been implemented in Postgres 9.2. providing some performance improvements where the visibility map of the table allows it.
I'm guessing there's something that's blocking this? Like that whole ImageMagick thing?indexes are more or less nonexistent.
Okay, so they can't even keep to the principle of most surprise.
-
What do they design by, the principle of most surprise?
nah. they discigned to maximize bikeshedding.

Possibly. Taking a look at the
posts
table, I see this index:-- Index: public.idx_posts_user_id_deleted_at -- DROP INDEX public.idx_posts_user_id_deleted_at; CREATE INDEX idx_posts_user_id_deleted_at ON public.posts USING btree (user_id) WHERE deleted_at IS NULL;
Locally, can take several seconds for some users. However, I think there may be other conditions applied to what you see in a user profile. I think you only see counts for posts that are in categories that you can read.

I prefer the unintentional? Discoword.
unintentional to origninally type, noticed it before submitting and decided not to correct.

Here's an entertaining (?) jellypotato--I clicked on @accalia's avatar in the post above mine, then clicked on the mention for @raceprouk in her usercard, and the page scrolled to the top of the scrollbar-marked area, and displayed this:
Yes, the top of the card is unviewable.
-
That's a known bug in Chrome where after a certain set of actions, any innerHTML changes cause the scrollbar to freak out.
-
Twitter has likes!

-
Pictured in your screenshot: "While you were away".
Also pictured, an X to dismiss it. Click that X.
"Did you like this feature, Y/N?"
Click "No"
- In a few days, that will pop up again. over and fucking over. NOMEANSNO, Twitter
- Also, since it appears in the middle of your timeline, dismissing it will jellypotato your timeline and lose your reading spot
So with the addition of hearts, we have:
- Toasters for unwanted features
- Jelly Potatoes
- Hearts
Twitter is Discourse. =(

Bullshit. Repro'd with FF:

I already posted that bug under the Bug category about a week ago.
Edit: the two-hour ninja strikes my Android again...

I already posted that bug under the Bug category about a week ago.
Like all the other unicorns in the movie The Last Unicorn, I muted that category long ago.

all the other unicorns
I always wondered why they didn't talk like her. Was it because they were trapped in a time before language?
-
Perhaps she changed when she was transformed.
-
she changed
Not sure, it isn't clear, since she clearly understood the huntsman at the beginning, and conversed with animals, even before all that happened. Then again, the f'king cat and skeletons spoke, so who knows?
-
Let me take this opportunity to remind you of the MST3K mantra.
