Check there's a BIOS setting for it. You might be able to disable the internal speaker. Or just unplug it. That's probably a better idea. If your computer ever doesn't boot, plug it back in to hear the error beeps.
-
Bad idea: YouTube blocking a non-monetized video because it has a parody of attack on titan in it.

I'll probably just unplug it, but it turns out it's a keyed connector that you can't just pull straight off, so i'll have to wait until I reboot. Probably do it after lunch.
I'll check the bios too, just to be safe. Don't recall seeing anything about that when I was looking back when I got the computer in March, but I wasn't looking for that.

Can't you disable the device in Windows?

Can't you disable the device in Windows?
Maybe. I first went to the audio control panel because normally multiple devices will show up there--that's where I wanted to disable it. (For example, I have two playback devices, the HDMI out on the video card, and the front/rear panel speaker jack.) The mobo speaker doesn't show there. For some reason I didn't think of looking in the Devices control panel itself.

Or perhaps they know, but simply choose to ignore Belgium.

Well, you know, no one who isn't from Wallonia themselves wants to admit that the Walloons exist, not even the French.

Who their! That's definitely fairy land! Right south of Flanders is good old France.

You know, I always figured I'd be the one to make all the Mr. Hands references here... though those aren't the sort of bones you see in the video.

Also, the drunk boyfriend passed out (apparently?) during.

desktop came with a built-in speaker
I discovered a PC in the office that had this too!
Since this is a (mostly) unmanned machine, nobody noticed when I RDP'd into it with "Play remote sounds at the computer" enabled, and I put on a playlist of silence clips and an occasional *chirp*, set on Shuffle.
Filed under: I wonder when they'll notice it's the computer that's making the noises...

Proof you hate women. You don't understand the pain she must be feeling! It's all the fault of whatever man got her drunk!

She was a trans-tiger! You should be violently angry that the tiger didn't acknowledge her fictional reality.

TL;DR, but it looks like the train is going to be late?

When we recently swapped offices here, we left behind two info-screens that happen to have built-in speakers. We left them on, but only showing a black screen. At random intervals they play sounds from Psycho (since the people that moved into our old dwellings were middle-aged when that movie was first released).

Which is patently untrue. My poetic readings of Lorem Ipsum bring tears of emotion to the audience's eyes every time.

Should've used TOS bridge noises! Amateur!

Let's see. In stages 1 amd 3 there were 189696 files but then in stage 4 there are 189680 where did 16 files go? And now we're checking file 187059 of 189680βonly 2621 to goβbut we're 23% complete ?

Microsoft has always been a bit math challenged.

It's actually because the "update progress" wasn't run one last time at the end of the loop (which only updates that line every so often).
I imagine the code looks something like this:
while (progress != done) if (timelast + 50 ms > timenow) { print "\r " + files_processed.toString() + "file SD/SIDs processed." ; } #Hey guys, maybe we should print out the number of files processed in case someone notices they're not exactly consistent with the actual number of files on the disk print "Security descriptor verification completed";
