"hotmail injection attack"
Ok, fancy name for spam?Raped by an attractive man with poor spelling?

Bad Idea: Sites that bold some of the words in an obnoxious way to show links.
Also, 'playful' job adverts in general. It was interesting at first but now it's 'look at us, we're edgy and hip too guyyzzz!'.

I said "Do you like Microsoft?" to Cortana. Here's what popped up:
Tried it the second time by typing:
Tried a different company (again, typing):
Asked the obvious question (voice):
Cortana has the attention span of a cat with ADHD.
Bonus: I asked "what is your opinion of @blakeyrat" and Cortana opened a Chrome tab to a Bing search for "What is your father wake your a**?"
-
Stop blaming Microsoft for your inability to speak languages real people speak.

Perfectly correct.

Google: result 1 contains two visible lojban sentences: xu do nelci lo cfipu banzu dukse clani tanru and lo citmlatu cu gasnu so'i zdile .e so'i ku'i fanza. Result 2 is an article designed to teach basic lojban concepts. Result 3 is a quote from Alice in Wonderland: lu .oi na nelci lo mlatu sei la smacu cu kinli je cinmo voksa krixa .i xu ba'e do nelci lo mlatu va'o lo nu da'i do me mi li'u. Bing: Result 1 contains one visible lojban sentence: xu do nelci lo glibau. Result 2 is nearly identical, but with one word changed: xu do nelci lo ckule. Result 3 is a quote from Green Eggs and Ham: da'i xu do nelci lo se go'i pe bu'u lo dinju and da'i xu do nelci cy joi xy vu'o pe ka'ai lo smacu.(Verified using the lojban corpus)

This being the Bad Ideas thread - you aren't implying anything concerning lojban, are you?

Here, let me copy my Google+ post, which is in English and is significantly less cluttered:
I asked Google and Bing if they liked kittens.
Google replied with "Do you like sufficiently confusing excessively long metaphors?" and "The kitten has brought about many amusements and many annoyances."
Bing replied with "Do you like English?" and "Do you like school?"
Then Google offered me a quotation from Alice in Wonderland: "'Not like cats!' cried the Mouse, in a shrill, passionate voice. 'Would you like cats if you were me?'"
And Bing offered a quotation from Green Eggs and Ham: "Would you like them with a mouse? Sam and fox in box"
-
Sorry, I forgot to add the to my previous post.
-
That's implied for any post including the word "lojban" written by someone other than me.

Voice recognition? It is to laugh. Tried to enter the list of movies Elvis starred in (real-world goal: to avoid buying another copy of one I already own). It correctly left the G off "Kissin' Cousins" and had no problems with the improbable words "Clambake" and "Roustabout".
But when I said "Live a Little, Love a Little", carefully enunciated, it showed up as "Level Level Level Level".
-
But when I said "Live a Little, Love a Little", carefully enunciated, it showed up as "Level Level Level Level".
That only tells us something about how many ways people pronounce "Search 'level up'!"

Wow.
Do you branch off into Arch Hall, Jr. movies while you're at it?
-
STATUS: Just noticed @ben_lubar is into some lojban thing that's at least partially unrelated to Dwarf Fortress.

What about the posts written by you?

Nope. The branch-off is to Hammer Frankenstein pics.

What about the posts written by you?
if (post.author.equals("ben_lubar") && post.content.contains("lojban")) { post = post.next(); continue; }
-
What about the posts written by you?
Actually all posts here are written by Ben and we're just a giant Dwarf Fortress-like simulation, so that's an irrelevant question.

I like the idea that we're all in a simulation that someone left running for several billion years accidentally.

I said "Do you like Microsoft?" to Cortana. Here's what popped up:
Clearly whoever programs Cortana is taking some cues about humor from Siri. Do you need your shoulder aliens recalibrated?
-
But when I said "Live a Little, Love a Little", carefully enunciated, it showed up as "Level Level Level Level".
Sometimes you can get around that by adding a mini-pause between words.
-
Do you read entire posts or just between the first and second image?

I read the whole post, you silly goof. I thought Cortana's answer to your question about Google was pretty funny.
-
Sometimes you can get around that by adding a mini-pause between words.
Also, can't repro. I said the six words with only a slight pause after the comma, and Google got the entire thing right.
-
That's because Google is good at information finding.
-
That's because Google is good at information finding.
It's true! I asked my phone "is lojban really lame?" and it put up "is lodge been really lame?" and then, after I finished speaking, changed it to "is lunch being really lame?"
-
Well, lojban doesn't sound like "lodge ban", so Google was closer than you were.
-
```
if (post.author.equals("ben_lubar") || post.content.contains("lojban"))
{
post = post.next();
continue;
}FTFY
I am an English speaker, therefore I automatically know how to pronounce words in all languages, provided I SLOW DOWN AND SPEAK LOUDER. “LODGE-BAN” See? It works!
Looks like a possible Article: "Original Creator forgets to define the entropy countdown timer an unsigned integer"
-
Personally, I like the variation that came up in one of the Uplift books: that we were part of a simulation that has already gone to completion, and our apparent self-awareness is a side-effect of the evaluation of that simulation.
I thought we were all supposed to be using information hiding. I guess I've been Doing It Wrong™ all these years!
The Archchancellor Ridcully approach to foreign languages?
-
Well, lojban doesn't sound like "lodge ban"
So in addition to redefining symbols to be letters it redefines letters to not sound like letters?
}FTFY</blockquote> No, not really; Ben *occasionally* posts interesting stuff, so I don't necessarily want to skip *everything* he posts, and I don't want to skip other people ridiculing his posts. The discussion was about lojban, but the more general algorithm would be more like this:
if (post.author.equals("ben_lubar") && Regex.Match(post.content, "lojban|golang|dwarf fortress", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase))
{
post = post.next();
continue;
}
I see, lowwshbaan. With like a Scottish accent. I have found enlightenment.
-
it redefines letters to not sound like letters?
As much as I dislike Ben prattling interminably about lojban, I'll give it this. It does define consistent rules for pronunciation <-> spelling. The rules are just not those of English. (INB4: "English has rules?")
-
The rules are just not those of English.
That's what I meant. It doesn't matter.
I'll probably get hit by a car anyway.If history is a guide, I'll never remember how to even spell it and continue to refer to it as logjam.
