Facial Recognition

I noticed
Lydia, housecarl of Whiterun
in my Google Photos list of "people". There's also another video game character in the first six, but his results are all screenshots of Alien Swarm.
Now, you'd expect there to be a lot of screenshots of
Lydia
in that folder. But instead, here's a representative sample of the images:
(yes, that last one is a screenshot of the previous incarnation of Google Photos)Apparently there is only one female video game character.

I'd expect there to be a lot of ASCII characters in your screenshot folders.

Results of what?

What folder? What are we talking about?

There's a face in every one.

You just included screenshots of like 7 of them. WTF is going on!

Google Photos automatically puts photos of the same person in a folder. I clicked on the Lydia folder, so I'd expect pictures of Lydia. Instead, I got one picture of Lydia in the middle of many pictures of other female video game characters. All of this should be immediately apparent to humans.

Still on the list of things computers can do better then me. When something like Google glass becomes socially acceptable it will be a good day for the faceblind.

I've always known we're not a human. Just recently though, I learned we're still a people.

I don't know how Google Photos works. I still don't know what "results" you were referring to even after that explanation.

Just means their facial recognition software is racist and thinks all video game characters look alike.

But it doesn't - all the folders for male video game characters (of which there are two) have only that video game character:
Curiously, there are no categories for the other 4 marines. The two female marines are classed as "probably the same person as Lydia I mean how many female video game characters can there be"

Well I appreciate you explaining the WTF at least. Next time try to do that in the first post.
And as a pro-tip: if you go through life assuming people know how Google+ works, you'll spend a lot it disappointed.
