🙅 THE BAD IDEAS THREAD

That should really be random, though, so you don't know which personality actually replies.
that idea is awesome.
it will be done!

That doesn't seem like something an SJW would do--all the white men must be losers.
Hmmmm, OK, in an SJW game, there are no winners or losers and everyone gets a participation award. Also, the only way to win the SJW game is to not play, just like in real life. ;)

Peter Wald’s family truly believed he would rise from the dead.
They believed it because they had prayed for it, every single day, while his corpse lay rotting for six months in an upstairs bedroom of their north-end Hamilton home.[...] Kaling, 50, pleaded guilty to failing to notify police or the coroner that her husband had died due to a sickness that was not being treated by a doctor.

Day 1. Go on... I'll wait...

i really have to make @godwin :-)
It should watch all topics for the first occurrence of /nazi|hitler/ and reply to the topic with the number of posts it took to succumb to Godwin's law.

And then (temporarily) close the thread, citing that the thread is now over.

that's the plan. it'll also keep track of topics that have already succumbed and list how many times it's happened!
-

hmm... i love the idea, but i doubt @pjh would let me have a bot with that power, even if it was just used for funsies (close the topic for say 300 seconds)

No picture, too much work.
I took a picture with my phone, and then wanted to resize it so I could post it here. The Gallery offers an "edit" option...to load the picture in a program that isn't installed. Do I want to install it? Sure. That loads the Samsung Apps pseudo-store, which asks me if I want to download and install, and shows me the permissions it requires. I click "Download", and the download starts...and then the pseudo-store changes to tell me that it has an update available, and do I want do apply it? I say "not later" and it says "Ok, Samsung Apps will close now." Jerks.

That was...disappointing.

Cheryl Shapiro, a former interior designer was shocked when she noticed the tiny swastikas. "I didn't even have to take a second look. Those swastikas jumped out at me."
Cheryl should be much happier if she saw dick shapes everywhere instead of swastikas.

Just dice the damned onions already!
Apparently, two male customers ordered their sandwiches with diced onions, but when the sandwiches were presented the onions were not diced. The argument escalated until one of the men reached into the pocket of his friend's jacket "pulled out a snake and threw it behind the counter."

And people say Canadians are friendly.

The snake wasn't poisonous.
- I think you meant "venomous".
- It probably had teeth.
Free vermin control FTW?
Once it leaves the thrower's hands, it's not really under control any longer.
-
I wouldn't want a poisonous snake near my food, either.
Same with pufferfish.
-
-
-
-
It's interesting that that article doesn't explain why those aren't venomous. Irregardless[1], I hereby award you a flag for out-pendanting me.
-
-
Just be grateful that I flagged you.
-
For you:
-
TIL you can safely eat venom! (not that I want to try...)
-
There's a footnote to a site that explains it:
http://www.snakesoftaiwan.com/Rhabdophis tigrinus formosanus/species_rhabdophis_tigrinus.htm
Rhabdophis tigrinus formosanus is a snake that eats frogs and stores their poison for later use against predators that try to kill it.
-
eatingest venom!FTFY
Given that venom is generally liquid in form, "eat" would be the incorrect verb. Since I CBA to confirm that all venoms are liquid, I decided against using "drink". Thus, "ingest" because the verb of choice.
Suck it.

So if you were to get the snake to change it's diet, it would no longer be poisonous, only venomous?

What if you put it on toast? On your eggs instead of Tabasco?
-
TIL you can safely eat venom!
I suspect that you can only safely eat some kinds of venom, although I have no idea if there are any that qualify.

So if you were to get the snake to change it's diet, it would no longer be poisonous, only venomous?
One assumes it's not actually venomous per se, like a grass snake, or they wouldn't have pendantically called it poisonous as opposed to venomous, or else they would have said it was both.
-
What if you put it on toast? On your eggs instead of Tabasco?
What if you eat that while listening to the band Poison?
-
What if you eat that while listening to the band Poison?
Or what if you listen to the band Poison in one ear and Alice Cooper's song Poison in the other ear?
-
What if you eat that while listening to the band Poison?
Bad taste in food and music!
-
But so does eat!
But what if you mix your venom with a Mountain Dew? Does eat work then?
-
-
Seems to work for @mott555.
-
-
Just because he likes to eat Mountain Dew ice cubes.
Ooh, that's an intriguing idea.
What happens if you put one of those in your glass of coke that happens to be Coke, as opposed to some other, lesser coke?
-
Just because he likes to eat Mountain Dew ice cubes.
This sounds like a great idea, except I've recently cut my caffeine intake to nearly nothing.

either that or he's just taking a break to reset his sensitivity.
i did that, and i'm back to only a couple of cups of tea a day, down from the five litres i needed daily before.
-
either that or he's just taking a break to reset his sensitivity
You can also do that to a lesser extent by switching what contains the caffeine. Like switching between coffee and tea. Or to one of those from sodas, but it is only a partial reset of sensitivity.
-
either that or he's just taking a break to reset his sensitivity.
I was headed to trouble, it's happened before. It was taking 3 - 4 cups of coffee a morning to get me halfway going, starting to have insomnia, no attention span, and barely awake during the afternoons. Now I'm down to a single cup of coffee first thing in the morning. I'm sleeping better, waking up easier, more alert, more focused, and a little less ADD.
Now if I can get another long weekend to finish the detox I'll probably be going caffeine-free again. By caffeine-free I mean no daily intake, perhaps once or twice a week when needed but not enough to build up a dependency.
