Is RightMove branching out?

For those who don't know, RightMove is a property search tool site thing siteEdit: Should have stated this isn't actually part of a property search, just a stupid survey to win £100 in Amazon vouchers.

An interesting ploy.
-
It's a really important factor when deciding to buy a house. You need to know what kind of grade you will be getting in your Tinder feed. You don't want to move somewhere if you will be reaching too high above yourself if you are just a 5 in an area of 8s for example. While obviously conversely you don't want to be an 8 in an area full of 3s and 4s.
It's always important to pay attention to the casual sex prospects wherever you are moving. I for one am glad RightMove is finally taking steps in this area. Now I will have an idea of where the highest concentration of desperate people are and I will never go horny again.
-
I should point out this was part of a survey actually unrelated to their normal business :)
If you completed it, you could be in with a chance of winning £100 in Amazon vouchers.I didn't bother doing the whole thing.

Why is this funny? And I don't mean the text but using small text to draw some sort of attention
Stop doing it.

Stop doing it.
What, you mean stop using small text as footnotes that are easily ignored by those who already know who RightMove are?You are aware of the concept and intent of footnotes, right?
-
This is a forum, not a wiki or a book, so your "footnotes", aren't on the footer, and where is it written that footnotes have to be unreadable?

Some people find it amusing. It's a different way to give emphasis to text communication, which lacks most cues from face to face communication. Like face to face communication, some people are better at it than others, and it's more appropriate in some situations.
So in that light, your request is like telling people to stop using hand gestures or winking or something. I can understand how it's annoying, but really you're just encouraging people to do it more, Ms Streisand.

or use discourse's reply and quote all that removes all formatting and some line breaks too.
-
People are so used to being marketed to by ideas, that they don't understand that only in the field of marketing do you bend over backwards to make your ideas appealing to everyone.
In the personal realm, I'm not marketing content, I'm just expressing myself. I don't have to conform to your expectations for expressing myself.
-
Whatever. Won't read your crap and we're all in peace. Me thinking that people around here were about communicating their ideas by a written medium in the best way possible, but you instead fail at that by adding stupid formatting. You probably thought the
<blink>
tag was a good idea
-
Interesting, what if we'd write an entire topic submission in this way? Could still be more enjoyable than some of the recent front-page submissions. Only line-breaks seem to be a slight problem, but whatever.

This is like the people who wave their hands more than they speak.

i have no idea what you 're talking abo ut

But Discourse won't render it on a single line‽
Paging @discoursebot...
Oh, and the quote did break the formatting; I fixed it using Notepad's Search and Replace

Next time I'll try to use "airquotes". Not sure if this "medium" is fitting, but I'll just "wing it".

You're supposed to read it in a low voice, like people who are mumbling an explanation for the bad thing they did.
I thought it was funny at first but my eyes are getting old enough I can't always read it without having to highlight-and-reply, so I'd prefer it stop too.

small text as footnotes
That's not the same thing at all. If you wanna use a footnote[1], you should do it the right way.
[1] and that would be like this.

It's also me being a dick
That was buttumed, You Must Be New Here, etc.
Seriously, though, the super-small text is hard to read, and it would be nice if people would cut back on it.
And while I'm at it I wish people in general would quit using tiny goddamned text on their sites, although judicious use of F12 and selectively disabling CSS helps.

Sorry, couldn't resist

That's fine, but I'm not going to bother trying to figure out what it said.

There was a disturbance in the force.
And then it was gone.

if you think that's impressive you should see what @algorythmics can make it do.... ;-)
-
For some reason, I'm beginning to envision @algorythmics as a dirty old man. Basically, no longer physically able to do most of what he talks about.
-
i dunno. i've encountered some amazingly spry dirty old men in my days.
it's amazing what a little nitrous oxide can do to a libido...
-shudder-
it's just not a pleasant site....

Maybe they weren't as old as you thought.
-
hmm.... the two who stick most in the memory were 97 and 105 at the time, according to their charts.....

What kind of high school did you go to? Were they trying to pump out a bunch of Eagle Scouts, or something?

dunno. was just the public high school in my town. the superintendant was an eagle scout though so.... maybe?
-
@Eldelshell, if you want people to stop adding "footnotes", you have to go on a blakey-type "Fuck bots" rant.
-
with about as much effect, at least there are only really 4 of us with bots...
or is it 3? ...5?
somewhere around there.
-

But it's not the owners who were abusing them out of category.
-
hmm..... true.

As I stated before, it's not footnotes, it's stupid formatting that makes the text hard to read when text is supposed to be for that, to be read1
[1] See? A footnote everyone can read without having to jump trough some hoops. Hell, I can even
hide it, which takes a single click of the button to read
I didn't say that it was footnotes, I said that it was "footnotes"
