The Furry Salinity Test

The test consists of posting your immediate response to the following name:
Doug Winger
Filed Udder: Actually, I kinda like his work, which makes me totally nuts of course

Doug Winger
Nope, doesn't ring a bell. Though the fact his last name is WINGer and he writes filed UDDER is a bit disconcerting. Are we talking about some weird bird/cow hybrid?
-
(i have no clue - lmgtfe)
a furry artist.
and probably a good thing that wikifur.com isn't on the onebox whitelist....
-
How about:
#Jolly Jack
That guy's real devious because he lures you in with pretty normal webcomics then BAM the inflation/macro porn.
EDIT: oh I've come across Winger stuff before, but didn't recognize the name offhand.
-
...? What?
-
Wow. That picture is not flattering.
-
That dude was drawing backgrounds for Dora the Explorer.
I... I really feel parents should have been notified of this somehow.
-
Look, I watch furry porn, a lot of it, and I barely know a dozen artists by their name. The popular ones that draw really well, the few ones that draw things I have a fetish for, and that's it.

Basically, 'inflation' porn is taking a normal-sized character and giving them huge tracts of land.... like, the size of large beach balls. 'Macro' is stuff that plays with sizes - a typical Winger macro character is something like 50 meters tall (and often having sex with freight trains. Don't ask). He's also big into herm characters - take one of the female inflation type characters and give them a dong the size of a firehose or bigger and you've got the idea. A Winger-style macro herm doing things with a grain silo is something you won't soon forget.
Winger is actually a very talented artist, and his more conventional cartoon work is good by almost anyones' standards. It's his choice of subject matter that leaves most people, furry and non-furry alike, gibbering and hiding under their beds. As I say, I like it, in small doses anyway, it's definitely different.
-
Not that anybody ever watches Robots in the News, but if you had watched the most recent one from Friday, you'd get a nice introduction to the world of inflation:
3 Jgirliiiirl – 23:23
— RobotsInTheNewsAlso, bad spelling and terrible grammar and basically ugh.

The last clause helps explain the first clause.
-
What the Fuck are you doing with the video? Why is it look like your capturing the capture window?
-
I told OBS to grab that Firefox window. It happens to put a nice classy black background to the translucent areas where you do that, apparently.
EDIT: either that or they're black because they never get redrawn, and it only picks up redraws. Whatever.
-
You're doing it wrong. Literally.
-
What should I be doing?
-
Obs window capture should work just fine for Firefox, but if you're having issues with whatever version you're using, try the clr browser plugin.
-
What the fuck are you talking about? I didn't have any issues. Look: the video's right fucking there. What was I doing wrong? WTF.
EDIT: are you trying to say the compression ratio is too high? I agree with that. Are you being pissy that I had to resize it slightly to fit it to 720p because I just eyeballed the Firefox window size when I started? Ok, I agree with that too.
But if you're just going to say I'm doing it wrong, you have to tell me how I'm doing it wrong and what I should be doing differently. You piece of shit.
-
Wtf do you mean what is wrong?
-
I can't repro on desktop, this might be a mobile thing
-
The whole video is like that, with scrolling stuff. Maybe it's a specific source quality? Checking. ..
-
So your mobile device is broken, and therefore it's my video's fault.
Awesome.
Thanks for revealing yourself to be a dumbshit. You are now mentally filed into "Ignore This Dumbshit". It's under I. For Ignore This Dumbshit.
Let me ask you a serious question, dumbshit: if my video looked that broken for everybody, do you think I would have put it on YouTube and then promoted it all over?
-
Load it up on mobile, is it broken for you?
I had no reason to believe the video was corrupt, every other youtube video works just fine.
Maybe it's the discourse embedded player, it doesn't appear to be using the standard player due to no source quality control.
Or maybe it's this new piece of shit Chrome version I keep complaining about. (See other thread)
If your video is one whole image, then I rescind my review and apologize, but your video is still getting shit on after a reload.
And in reply to broken / promotion, isn't rin about advertising broken games and shit? This would perfectly fit your normal broadcast.
-
Load it up on mobile, is it broken for you?
I don't give a shit.
EDIT: but for the record, since I lied about that, it's fine on Windows Phone 8. It's just busted on your busted-ass phone which is fucking busted and you suck for buying it.
-
It's a Samsung galaxy s4, hardly old or busted. I'm going to point at Google or discourse.
For comparison, I clicked the mc video
-
And yet, you are still a dumbshit. Forever more.
-
It's cool, your video is still broken.
-
How about just "your busted-ass phone is fucking busted".
-
The only Winger that matters (and whether even they matter is debatable):
Winger - Seventeen – 04:11

you joined entirely to post about liking furry porn?
-
No, I am a generic shared account, for anonymous posting and stuff. Like on the old forum!
Edit: also OP made an entire goddamn thread about furry art/porn. I was just posting on-topic.

Jolly Jack
Searching for this name gave me this:Open 4chan.org, visit the "Hentai/Alternative" board and you'll get a practical introduction.
And this made me give up the search.

What has been seen cannot be unseen!
That about sums up most folks' reaction to Doug Winger's art, to be sure.
-
Read it as Doug Wiener. Either way, I don't recognise the name
-
You've been added to The Sock Puppet Master List.
-
Fuck, I could have sworn I did it myself, but apparently I didn't save the changes.
-
first reaction: Who?
second reaction: on there's a wiki link
third reaction: huh. not the wiki i thought it was
fourth reaction: [censored] that'sa weird mustache
fifth reaction: oh. him. nope, doesn't work for me at all, but hey if it floats his boat then more power to him but i'll be browsing the web over here, y'know away from him.

'Macro' is stuff that plays with sizes
Somehow, the image of King Kong strolling into North Platte and thinking 'ooh, toy trains' comes to mind. Probably not what was intended, but funnier, too.

This. Amateur art critics forget far too often that technical competence and subject-matter...agreeability, if you will, sit on orthogonal axes; one can have total 3-yr-old scribblings that are perfectly agreeable and harmless, or things that are masterwork-level in terms of technical competence, but leave you gibbering and hiding under your bed. (There's also schlock that leaves you gibbering and hiding under your bed, and perfectly-agreeable/harmless masterworks, but neither of those really contribute to my point.)
-

I would even suggest that the high-quality art is more likely to leave you gibbering, because it is more effective in communicating its, um, messages.
-
I finally got around to watching it yesterday and had some good laughs.
-
There's another one scheduled Friday, where Rantis reads a story where he becomes teen wolf and has sex with his mom ... or something, I forgot.
-

I think low-quality and disagreeable is where you run into some of the more extreme Escher Girls... which is blocked at work so I can't find you an example pic just yet
-
I didn't know what an escher girl was, so I googled it. Didn't understand the first post definition so I image searched it. Didn't understand the images so went to urban dictionary.
Oh. I understand now.
-
Lol. Escher girls are what you get when comic book (usually comic book anyway) artists have never seen a real woman and try to draw females based purely on maximizing secondary sex characteristics. No organs to minimize waist size, capable of displaying frontal and rear cleavage at the same time ("boobs and butt pose"), often with dislocated joints to make a pose "work".
Aha! Found some in my RSS reader:
-
I'm sticking with urban dictionary.
A term popularized by the tumblr blog of the same name, an Eschergirl refers to any figure (typically female and typically within comics) drawn in a "sexy" pose that defies sense both in anatomy as well as narrative. Harkening back to the dizzying designs of Escher, these girls are also impossible.
