I'm amused that Chrome thinks every word you just wrote is wrong.
Because Chrome isn't smart enough to do a compatibility decomposition before running it through the checklist. To be honest I'm more surprised it's trying to spell-check it at all, because it's some weird codepoints.

Are white mice able to identify as guinea pigs? And if so, were they able to do so in 1959?

(from: https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-023-02565-x )Those are mice a few generations after the exposure, right?

@LaoC Yeah, they grew bigger to rat size.

Ticking the box and hitting save brings us to:
Whelp, the beginning of the end of this place seems to be coming...

The advantage of running on an isolated (or it it?) network is that you never have to buy licenses for your neolithic Windows. The disadvantage is that it's also isolated from the IT administrator.
-
@LaoC said in Error'd Bites:

It is probably firewalled, but it can't be completely isolated, because it needs to be able to access the account server, and internet banking (I suppose they do have some these days) also needs to access that server.
@LaoC said in Error'd Bites:
isolated from the IT administrator
It is isolated by the fact that it asks for him on the screen, not the network.

What's wrong with Sean? Why can't he be elegant, too?

Dropbox...
Then why did you try to open a preview for it? I just wanted to upload a file. Period. Full stop. And then I move on with my life. Absolutely nobody asked you to try and open a file that was never meant for any kind of human consumption whatsoever.
TL;DR: Dropbox decided to try and preview any and all files you drop into the WebUI from now on.

@boomzilla That's merely a little mix-up of Big Endian and Little Endian.
-
Probably made in a place where people get sent against their will, like a prison, a workhouse, or a reintegration-for-the-unemployed scheme. When I was in one of those, we had to (among other things) fill little plastic satchels of herbs for some brand that sold them in supermarkets. Since a fair amount of those herb leaves had mould on them, I made sure those were the ones prominently behind the little clear window in the satchels.

@HardwareGeek It's not the end of the world, but I can see it from here.

I couldn't take a snapshot at the time, but a while ago I saw an error'd on tv, on the daily weather prediction they show for major cities.
They show 3 cities at the time, with the city name, temperature and weather icon overlaid on a picture of a famous landmark. This background picture is itself altered, likely via a transparent filter, to depict the predicted weather.
One of the cities, instead of the regular photo, had a rainy Chrome "page failed to load" image, complete with browser UI.

Since none of the countries from 2 to 8 neighbour Heard Island and McDonald Islands, I suspect the correct answer is
1.It's not the first time I've seen this game handle missing data this gracefully.
-
@Zecc Isn’t the question , though? When the border between two countries is entirely in the sea, they generally aren’t considered to be neighbouring countries as such, AFAIK.

The question is indeed . Not just that islands don't really neighbour anything, but these two islands (Heard Island and McDonald Island) are in the middle of eFfing nowhere and choosing what they neighbour is … it kinda makes no sense.
-
@Bulb Islands that are near other islands or the mainland, for example, US and Canadian islands in the Puget Sound-Straits of Juan de Fuca area, or various island nations in the Caribbean, it makes sense to talk about what they neighbor. Islands in the middle of the ocean, thousands of kilometers from the nearest other land, not so much.
-
@HardwareGeek yeah, if the islands were actually close to another country, the question would be clear even if ically incorrect, but these are not.
-
-
@Zecc Interesting. I thought I’d find out which country would export a lot of undefined, and instead found there is a port by that name in the UK:
I did also find the country name, BTW. It’s epiforecasts/covidregionaldata.
-
Btw, the country was Puerto Rico. Who knew?
-
@Zecc said in Error'd Bites:

Checks out, I'm sure the country of Puerto Rico produces a lot of Undefined.

Certificate is valid but not for 2023.babscon.com?

Considering what you do to computers, is it any surprise they don't like you?

Mixed active content. Also, y'all screwed up the intercept for sending people to 2024;
browserponies
' JavaScript files are just returning the intercept page as their content.

Nothing. Cert is valid and said domain is listed in the SANs field.

For context I was tasked with changing the way sub-sites work from a folder in one site to a dozen actual subdomain sites. Apparently it helps with SEO.

@boomzilla Shirley it's the famous English crinkle-crankle wall?

@boomzilla said in Error'd Bites:
Those look like new-built houses in the UK, judging by the drainpipes. What surprises me most about that photo is that there still isn’t a fire escape. Nobody wants to give up a metre or so of their garden so they don’t need to bring everything in through the house, and incidentally also have a way to get out of the back garden should their house be on fire?

We don't want the fire to escape.

Happening on my mother's Internet. I have a feeling something is up with the IPv4 configuration as it doesn't seem like I'm getting an IPv6 address.
-
@Tsaukpaetra Or Acamai's DDoS protection is acting up, or your mother is currently sharing an IP with someone infected with a virus participating in a DDoS.

Actually, that's not outside the realm of possibility, there are young adults in the house...
