Always fun when a self-updater does not into the needful.

Looks like NodeBB notifications when you have several tabs open.

Some companies really try hard not to receive job applications.
Like that one whose email is defective:The mail system
personal@redacted.de: host mail.redacted.de[redacted ip] said: 550 5.1.1
personal@redacted.de: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual
mailbox table (in reply to RCPT TO command)Then I tried to upload it via their web form.
Result:You do not have privileges to upload this file type (pdf)
Well, I still could print my application and send it by .
But .
And what would I have to encounter when working at their site?
No thanks.

I wonder if it would have accepted a .doc.

I would have pushed a .wri personally.

@jinpa The html code for the

What happens when I select an audio file for my CV?
Just tried that... (checked the agreement to their their T&E, left all other fields empty, and cllickedsubmit
): no error received (though I did not fill in required other fields...)

Singing your CV certainly sets you apart from other candidates.
-
@Zerosquare Oddly, a different company invited candidates to upload a one-minute video instead of a cover letter...
Elevator pitch crap.
I am a software guy, not a salesman, you fucktards!

@jinpa But it was not invalid either:

Dear Ms. or Mr. Demo of Demo GmbH,
please find enclosed my demo job application for demo job at Demo GmbH.
Looking forward to a demo job interview.
Kind regards,
Bernie The Demo Bernie
-
@BernieTheBernie I guess I'm missing the WTF. Since the name of their company is Demo GmbH, is it surprising that their support edress is demodaten@demo.de?
-
There is a real company called Demo GmbH, but their domain is demo-gmbh.de. Which means that's probably not the company @BernieTheBernie is applying to, and the text is just a default placeholder than never got replaced. Which doesn't look good for the actual company using it.

"GmbH" is the german equivalent of "Ltd".
"Demo" is short for "demonstration", as in english. As @Zerosquare saw it correctly, it is a sample text which was not adjusted at all.

@Tsaukpaetra I'm pretty sure nobody who knows you is surprised by your ability to get an error. Some of us even assume it's the default.

I think we have somewhat enough of a history for him to guess. It's still nice that the mystique hasn't worn off yet.

@Tsaukpaetra What's the difference here between Esc and OK?

Esc brings you into the boot menu, Ok continues the boot.

The Department of Mutt Aggravation is meddling again.

@Zerosquare I've kinda wanted to play with a hardware memory snooping device for a while. But apparently people are fixing that particular "hole" now too. (But the fact that plugging in a Thunderbolt/PCIe device would give it unrestricted access to all physical memory with little-to-no intervention from the host CPU/OS is kinda amusing.)
-
I remember the days when DMA Design was a thing, not just DMA Protection.
-
@cvi Although I guess that would only work if the IOMMU is disabled too, as afaik enabling it means PCIe devices can no longer directly access memory as it wants.
-
@Arantor Oh, I believe there was many a person who wanted protection against what DMA Design released.
-
What, Lemmings?
-
@Zerosquare Do you know how many different violent deaths there are in Lemmings? Not to mention the Armageddon button!
-
Let’s not talk about the most famous thing ever to come out of DMA Design, a little franchise called Grand Theft Auto…
-
@Atazhaia I don't remember the full details, but I think I read somewhat recently that the IOMMU wasn't being utilized by default in one or more of the "big" OSs. Somebody showed a POC exploit related to that with a USB-C based Thunderbolt (so 3 or 4).
-
@Arantor GTA 2 was fun.

One is located almost where it should be, the other looks like your typical CSS abomination.
Does bios run on node now?
-
-
@cvi Windows liked to not even boot with IOMMU enabled, dunno if they fixed it. Linux does it no problem, but they have had support for IOMMU and IOMMU-related features (PCIe passthrough, SR-IOV, etc.) for some time now.

Java would be
java.lang.String[]
.
-
@BernieTheBernie I like that the trio has the proper 3 strings. But an orchestra has a lot more than 1 string.
-
@dcon said in Error'd Bites:

It looks like it's an entire array of strings so I think they'll be fine.
-
@ixvedeusi They should have used
Liszt<string>
instead
