Hey, I'll use IPv6 as soon as everything on the Internet that my users want to get to is actually reachable via IPv6! And their home connections support IPv6 so that they can get to the VPN endpoint!

I would think network admins play Jenga but instead of wooden blocks you have to pull out a cable from the switch stack. First to bring the network down loses.

I propose you take this piece of patch cable and stick both ends in different open ports on the same router. I'll go stand in this non-suspicious spot for when that causes the network to go down.

Feel free to try this at your own office. And hell, feel free to say a guy on the internet told you to do it.

@Gustav don’t forget to add one combining diacritic and one skin tone modifier.

That happened at one place i worked. A few times per week, until the admins made the network immune. Someone started putting patch cables into two ports in meeting rooms, so it was on purpose as well.

Unless I'm using outdated equipment, I expect disappointment.

Wasn't really that bad, just disappointing. The only real reason I watched it in the first place was a minor character named "April" was played by Midori Francis. You remember her:

Given some threads here, I'd guess that the company has just hired a significantly better support desk person than average.

@dkf … I watched Shad's argument how AI image generation can make artists better, and similar argument can probably apply to GPT3 and lot of other jobs—e.g. the GPT3 can take care of being nice to the caller and pry all the relevant information from them while the human sorts out which potential fixes actually makes sense to try.

If he could set it up to fake a support drone will enough, he could run his own company instead. And I'm certain I've said this exact thing before on this forum about this save thing, only different.

That’s literally what websites do already.
You know, after you clicked deny on the cookie banner, dismissed the auto playing videos, and the 500 other steps before you can start using a site, it automatically pops up the “hey, I’m Bob, how can I help you” fake chat window that you also have to dismiss.Nobody sane uses that crap.

If you’re not using registered mail, they’ll surprisingly lose your claim anyway.

The other day I had a puncture (in such a way that the tire can't be fixed, and of course the tires are juuust old-enough that I have to change both tires on the axle ). Since my car insurance has some road-side assistance that explicitly covers "recovery costs even for a flat tire" I though I'd call them to check if they also covered some of the new tires cost. I don't think they do, the wording on their website seems to imply they don't (they only cover sending a repair team, possibly towing your car and/or a taxi to bring you back home, which is already nice!) but doesn't clearly says so. So I wanted to check with a human, at worst they'd tell me "no" and that's it.
The number I called told me "we're too busy, we'll send you a text message with a link to follow, thank you for calling" and hung up.
I guess if you don't have a smartphone, or a good-enough data plan, or are stuck in a weak signal area (where you can get phone but not data), you're fucked, which is a nice start. In my case, the annoyance was that while the website seems pretty reasonably well-made, it only allowed me to summon some road side assistance, which was useless to me (I have a spare tire which I had put on, I was back at home, I don't need specific assistance), and couldn't tell me what was or wasn't covered.
So I abandoned the idea and assumed they'd have told me "no" anyway. A net gain for them, I guess.
Funny stuff guyzzzzz!!!1!
